We really loved our family trip to Green Island. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the snorkeling is excellent and the staff are friendly. On the downside, much of the food is terrible. The breakfasts are good but were often different to what we ordered or missing meals altogether, literally everything we got from the takeaway menu for dinner was pretty much inedible and tasteless (stale burger buns, couldn't even cut through fish with a knife and fork, pizza worst we've ever had etc.) The one night we dined at the restaurant the food was good, but the mains for our table arrived 30 mins apart so half of us were done eating before the other half even got theirs. If you're vegetarian or vegan there are very limited options. They had a lot of new staff so we were mindful of this but I felt they should have had a lot more training before being put onto the job. It's a shame the food was so bad as it put a huge dampener on the trip. There is also very little to do on the Island in inclement weather (no games room or wet weather activities) so make sure you bring books/games/ipads etc.. the free wifi is good enough to stream movies. My brand new hard shell suitcase also received a 30cm crack in it on the return ferry trip which I reported but they never got back to me about. All in all, I definitely recommend a stay at the resort if you are into snorkeling and sunset beach strolls, just come with low expectations for the food and bring as much of your own as possible!

Special thanks to Shelly and Trev for being so helpful and looking us. We had a lovely time! We will sincerely miss Marina's awesome attitude and exceptional service. Her smile and laughter set the tone for our stay and will be dearly missed. Lastly thank you for the Emerald restaurant chefs for truly delicious food, the Texas Slow cooked Prime was out of the world!

Went on a half day ferry ride from Cairns. It was disappointing. We were promised coral, turtles and fish while snorkelling, there were a few beautiful fish. No one on the trip saw a turtle and all the coral is dead. The water was murky. There is a patrolled beach where the best snorkelling is. Were shocked to see the entire beach between the flags covered in beach chairs to rent. $30 per hour. We were able to sit on our towels further around. The resort is run down and appeared mostly closed. I suspect this is due to covid and lack of international travellers. I waited a very long time for an expensive take away coffee and food available was very limited. People were having burgers and chips for breakfast as it seemed the only option. The only showers available are outdoor. The staff on the ferry were friendly and helpful.

We went to Green Island with Great Adventure my husband and I spent $258 we got there around 11am & left around 3:30pm we paid this price because we wanted to snorkel and do the glass bottom boat but when we got there they told us our boat was booked 11;30am then they said the tide is going out so if we were to snorkel to do it now but we couldn't shift our time with the glass bottom boat So we missed out on snorkelling as by the time we came back from the boat which by the way was lucky it was 15mins & stayed in the same spot! Was to late to snorkel as the tide went out I did ssk for a refund for the snorkelling but they said no. The Island itself is not big and they make you spend more money even the lockers is $7 for 4hrs more money! We did the crocodile park but that was also $25 each there was no lunch included also so a bit of a rip off and not worth it unless maybe your staying there as they have accommodation.. so yes very disspointed

Went on a day trip to green island on the 20th May 2021 What a disappointment as soon as you walked to the island the stench was overwhelming I was told it was the birds there and made worse because it was raining the cafe had a sign coffee and cake so went into order no cake they had ran out the day before and no other options for anything to have with cake on the menu hamburgers $24 and not much else the resort was closed on a Thursday my overall impression the whole place needed a good gurney I was there 15 minutes and went back to stay on boat total waste of a day going there couldn’t believe it was called a RESORT very poor
