This is a great holiday destination for families.
Our grandchildren aged6-9 loved the pools.
The apartments were generous in size and supplies everything needed. They are not serviced unless you pay extra but it was easy to wash towels daily and run the dishwasher. The views are spectacular.
The desk staff are less than warm and could use a course in customer service. There was one woman and one younger man who tried to be helpful but the rest were mechanical and clearly disinterested. The rules about room charges were not made clear on arrival and this led to some irritation about room bills.
The booking desk on the other hand was staffed by people all too willing to help.
The breakfast up at sky point is fun. It is buffet with a good, but standard, selection however they will cook you fresh eggs. You need to pay for a barista coffee. The view is amazing. You get a discount for staying at Q1 and we got Childs price because we are pensioners.
It is a small taxi/uber ride to Broadbeach where there are lovely restaurants. There are still many eating places within walking distance if you are wanting to stay local.
The beach is an easy walk away and the amazing pacific fair mall a small tram ride to get to.

We stayed 5 nights in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a spa in the ensuite, which really lived up to our expectations from previous stays at the Q1. The upgrade to an ocean view room was very pleasing and the apartment was clean and tidy with everything we needed - including a coffee machine, there was plenty of space in the living area and a very comfortable lounge.
Housekeeping did an excellent job every day and all the staff were very friendly whenever we ran into them throughout the building.
We did have a problem with the door into the room not shutting and locking properly but within 20 minutes of me contacting the front desk they had a maintenance man up to fix it.
We got to enjoy a swim in the indoor heated pool and relaxed in the heated spa after a day of shopping. There is also the option to experience Skypoint at the top of the building - if you are not scared of heights!
It was only a few minutes walk to the heart of Surfers Paradise to experience the beachfront night markets held on several nights of the week, and you cannot stay at the Q1 without experiencing the delicious burgers and chicken wings at Longboards Eatery and Bar down by the pool. There are plenty of eating options within walking distance if you don’t feel like cooking, and if you do the kitchen was well equiped.
We will definitely stay again for another holiday, just wish we could afford the presidential suite - check it out online!!!

Location : one of the best locations on Surfer's Paradise and Gold Coast.

All the neighbouring attractions are mostly at walking distances from Q1. Restaurants, shopping, clubs, pubs, convenience stores, liquor stores are all nearby.

Also you can reach the beach within 5 minutes and the beach is pristine . Some rooms offer a great view of the ocean. Tip : The higher the floor, the better the view.

The Tram station is just across the street.

Service : If you are someone who usually stays in Hotels, you might be disappointed by the speed.

Also if you are staying for a longer time and like cleanliness, opt for Room service while making a booking.

Amenities : The rooms generally have all the required amenities . But some of the appliances are old.

Design : The most weird design in my opinion. If you are travelling with family/ friends , here's a thing you should know.

The room doors and the bathroom doors do not have latches. Also , the room in which we stayed, the gallery had a glass wall access to the main bathroom.

Also the additional room does not have an attached bathroom. Do check other options in an around Cavill Street if you are looking for a good location. Choose Q1 if you want a spacious , well equipped room and if you have the time to use other hotel aminities.

We stayed for 6 nights in January 2024 . Room was comfortable, location and views fantastic. We stayed on level 20 in a 1 bedroom family spa unit which was plenty of room for our family of four 2 Adults and 2 young teenage children.
A few improvements need to be addressed by management. Our room was not cleaned until between 4-5pm every day during our stay which is not good enough when being charged high season holiday rates and when asking staff to clean earlier there only excuse was there is not enough staff. Management needs to employ more staff to cater for high season as they are still charging high season prices! Every night our airconditioner was automatically turned off which made our room very hot and woke us up very early each day, I called reception to send someone from maintenance to discuss but never saw anyone.
Not enough pool deck chairs but plenty of room to add at least 25 more around the pool areas.

On arrival, we first had to battle our room key not working (i.e. a long round trip in the 40+ level elevator), only to be told when we returned to reception that it's quite a common problem.

We finally made it to our room, to discover that it smelled disgusting - honestly, imagine the worst public toilet and then add a little whiff of air freshener to try to mask it.

To the team's credit, when we requested to change room they made this happen virtually without question, however housekeeping then hustled us out of the offending room (sweeping up our belongings!) in what appeared to be a rush to spray some air freshener in there and get some other poor soul in there ASAP.

The general vibe in this place is that guests are an untrustworthy inconvenience... there are gaudy "don't do this, don't do that" signs absolutely everywhere, when seeking extra toilet paper and bin bags (because 2 rolls / 2 bags for a group of 4 is hardly going to be sufficient for a week!) I had to almost beg reception for more than 1 at a time, and you are constantly swiping your access card even to get OUT of the building. Pool towels are not available poolside, but at reception only (a strange inconvenience).

The building is tired and dated, the rooms are stuffy, and noise travels easily between apartments (particularly from the room upstairs - I could hear every flush, and what seemed to be every time someone moved a chair back).

Overall, a very lack-lustre experience and not somewhere I would recommend.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed here for 6 nights last week in a 2 bedroom unserviced apartment, floor 47.
The apartment was very big, so much room in the dining/living area and very bright with so many windows and absolutely beautiful ocean and city views. We had a corner apartment which meant we got both sea and city views. The room had an enclosed balcony, laundry, 2 bathrooms with the en-suite having a spa bath. Place was clean, kitchen had all the required things for cooking although we didn’t cook during the stay. Location is great, less then 5mins to beach and 5-10 mins to eating places.
Parking was also secured, undercover. Staff were nice and helpful. No restaurant on site, a small cafe downstairs. We didn’t do breakfast at sky point as we had a great view from our apartment already. Pricing is on par with comparable properties, especially in peak season.
I took a star off as even though I knew it was an unserviced apartment (keeps the costs slightly lower) I did ask for 2 sets of towels for the apartment so I could wash one set and still have another set of towels to use. I also asked for some extra amenities (body wash) all when I booked the place. That would have made the stay nicer. Also, not sure if this is normal but all beds had blankets with top and bottom sheets instead of quilts. I hope they wash the blankets between stays as my kids ended up using the blankets themselves since the beds were not made up/serviced everyday. So the kids made the beds as they do at home.
We didn’t use the outdoor pools as it was too cold, but the kids used the indoor heated pool a few times and enjoyed themselves. Overall a lovely stay and will stay again.

We had an incredible stay. We spent 3 nights in a beautiful two bedroom apartment on the 47th floor and then didn't want to leave!

The apartment was super clean and had absolutely everything we could have wanted. The kitchen was really well equipped with a large fridge dishwasher a cooktop and oven.
Tea and coffee was replenished daily and we had housekeeping service each morning.

The hotel is beautiful and very close to everything you need to see. The beach is on the doorstep and the g-link train is on the corner.

Car parking was free, undercover and safe which was an added bonus.

We will be back, it was truly amazing!

Stunning hotel!
We were on the 54th floor (I think there’s 70 something floors) it’s BIG!!
Beautiful views both towards the sea and the mountains and our 2 bedroom apartment was huge.
We stayed 5 nights.
Be mindful if you have booked a fully serviced room where your room is serviced daily like a hotel or a ‘non’ service room where you pay for everything additional if you want it. We didn’t mind having a non service room, as we could wash and dry towels etc.. but the vacuum cleaner in our room didn’t work, so apologies to the hotel cleaners after we checked out! Our floor hadn’t been vacuumed in a week!
Great location, tram stop right at the door, 5-8 min walk to Cavill ave, surfers.
Pool area is very large, 3 pools (1 is inside) plus gym, sauna, spa etc..
we used the bbq area by the pool for dinner one night, lovely and clean, and they allow drinks in the pool area (just not in glass) which was a welcome change to other places.
We loved our luxury stay at Q1!

My family stayed at the Q1 in January. I have to sya it was the worst stay I have ever had. This review has no reflection on the Q1 itself. The staff were wonderful. We booked a celebrity spa suite. Apartment 6004. To begin, the apartment itself has no spa. We arrived and were really let down by the furnishings and quality of the apartment. The beds are incredibly hard, there is paint peeling and wear throughout the apartment, particularly the bathroom, the majority of the cupboards throughout the paratment are locked off by the owner, the dishwasher doesnt work, there are cockroaches through out the apartment, light switches and power points dont work, and the furnishings have nothing to do with anything related to supposed celebrity. The staff were wonderful. They were very sympathetic to the bed situation, I actually slept on a very uncomfortable lounge because the master bedroom bed was so bad. The owner is the one here at fault. This apartment really needs to be advertised as a standard 3 bedroom apartment if anything. If the owner wants to rent it out he needs to be sympathetci to holiday makers and make it worthy of being rented out. otherwise live in it himself. The apartment cost me a huge amount of money for 9 nights and we were stuck there otherwise i would have been forking out tens of thousands of dollars to find something else. The owner needs to do alot better and the Q 1 needs to downgrade this apartment until he does.

The first time we had been to Sufers Paradise staying in an apartment without a balcony and a beach view. Just didn’t feel like being in Surfers. You could upgrade to a beach view for extra, but staying for a 7 night stay in a 3 B/R apartment which cost $4500 already we didn’t want to have to pay any extra. We also chose not to have housekeeping as this option was an extra charge again. They provided 2 sachets of dishwasher powder and no dishwashing liquid. I called up to get some dishwashing liquid and they said that there was a charge for any extras. This may have been why our dishes were dirty upon arrival. Again, for $4500 for a 7 night stay, you would think they would provide dishwashing powder for the length of your stay. The apartments themselves were average, tired and needed refreshing. We then moved to a 2 B/R apartment after the grandparents left for a further 4 nights and the room was similar. Our room was very noisy in the wind and rain. It was generally a very noisy place with hoons out in their cars backfiring most nights and sounded like a race track. This of course was not Q1’s fault but it is generally very noisy and even being up high, you can hear voices from the street. We asked for a late check out the night before but was told that someone else was coming into our apartment the next day so they couldn’t accommodate a late check out. I called down later to confirm checkout time and was told by someone else that due to it still being NSW school holidays, that they weren’t granting late checkouts to anyone. It was only a 5 minute walk to Cavil Avenue and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Would I stay here again - no. I spent so long researching the perfect accommodation and sadly to say we felt the Q1 was far from what we expected. We would definitely stay with a beach view and a balcony so that you can open the doors and smell the beach and hear the waves.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent stay with us. I do sincerely apologise for falling short of your expectations, particularly with regard to the guest room. Please rest assured that your experience is not indicative of our usually very high standards. I would like to help clear up several of your points. Like all resorts the ocean view rooms are always at a higher cost then the non ocean view rooms but are extremely well worth it. We do not charge extra for housekeeping but we do offer great discounts on your accommodation if you prefer to not have housekeeping help straighten your room, if during your stay you decide you need housekeeping we absolutely can facilitate those requests for a very small fee i.e. dish washing powder $0.50. Surfers Paradise being one of the biggest tourist destinations in Australia it can get a little noisy but i believe that just adds to the charm. It is unfortunate we couldn't facilitate a late check out but it isn't uncommon for popular resorts to not be able to offer this, especially during school holidays and most other resorts do not have 4 bedroom apartments to clean they take the best part of 3 hours to complete so again I'm sorry we did not meet your expectation. Thank you again for your feedback. Duty Manager Stephen
