Detailed Reviews
Our 6 night stay at the Wyndham Surfers Paradise started poorly when we were told, while checking in, that the café/restaurant would be closed during our time there because of water damage. This was not a deal breaker, by any means, because there were many cafes and bars close by where we could enjoy eating and drinking outside on those occasions that we chose not to eat indoors.
Our apartment was a two bedroom, two bathroom Sky Suite with a fantastic view of the ocean. The Sky Suite was very well equipped and nicely furnished.
Conveniently located with the light rail outside the front door and within easy walking distance to shops and tourist attractions.
We stayed during July which was ideal because there were fewer people and the weather was much milder than the hot days normally experienced in summer.
It was a very pleasant stay and will remain on our list of potential places to stay at the next time we visit Surfers Paradise.

Thank you Derek for taking the time to review your stay with us from July. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our amazing views from our Sky Suite Apartment and found our location well situated to explore the Gold Coast. Please however accept our apologies for the issues you encountered with from the water leak in the Cafe, this was unforeseen. I am pleased to report this was fixed in July and the Cafe has been re-opened for many months. We hope you will provide us another opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future and enjoy a meal with us in the future. Regards, Kaydee George - General Manager

We are quite disappointed with the facility this time.
While Anita from Guest Services gave us good advice during booking the holiday for us and also put in a request for a corner apartment, we were given a corner apartment (405) On arrival, The staff ran and gave us a key card to enter the car park, which is much appreciated. check in was very smooth. The apartment was a corner one on Level 4 which is appreciated and it was quiet in the evenings and nights. The air-conditioning was good. All the utensils and whiteware were good.
But,The negatives are, the stains on the dining chairs and a couple of screens and curtains; The cleaning staff seem to spend a lot of time cleaning the surfaces but some stains will not go away easily; We were 3 adults and the sofa-cum-bed was not well adjustible and it was slanting on one side which we reported to Reception many times but nothing good came out of it. We got sore back with that but had to put up with it. I recommend replacing it, if it cannot be fixed. We are spending so much towards the apartment and sleeping over a bad bed with the springs hurting our backs is not a matter of amusement. We are in our 60s and we felt Wyndham is not the right choice for us anymore. Marriot, Hilton, Sofitel and Novotel are far better in quality of the facilities in the apartment. We changed our original plan and Anita helped us to book in Surfers Paradise . But the cleaning fee charged for Kirra Beach was not returned to us even after 5 weeks and was only returned to our account after we called the Finance dept ( which had a waiting time of 45 mins on the phone). Hence, we have given a 7 for our overall experience.

The location of this hotel is good, walking distance to the beach and tram. The pool is currently closed for maintenence and so therefore access if given to the pools at the Q1 which was very good. There are a lot of upgrades going on at the hotel at the moment.
A letter is supplied on arrival specifying that the Wyndham hotel offers discounted prices for Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. To book through the hotel was $10 more expensive per person than booking at the sanctuary itself. So don’t do it. (The lady at reception wanted to charge us $49.95 per adult when at the Sanctuary it was $39.95 for midweek tickets. I actually
let her know about this and she said it was for ease of the customers of the hotel….)
The kitchen needs some maintenence. The dishwasher buttons are all broken off. Try sliding out the racks of the dishwasher and they will come crashing out. The fridge has no light and the plastic basket is all smashed up. The rangehood completely doesn’t work whatsoever. The supplied crockery and utensils in the kitchen are great and useful.
The bed is the most uncomfortable I have slept in, in my life. Our backs are aching. It is like a hammock with springs. The beds need upgrading, as other people we spoke to had the same problem.
All in all we had a great stay due to the location and we enjoyed using the balcony.

Dear TessyDiva, Thank you so much for taking the time to review Wyndham Surfers Paradise and for sharing your experience with others, we appreciate it. In regards to our renovations, I am happy to let you know our pool is back open and it is looking amazing! we work closely with the Q1 and therefore we were able offer our guests an alternative option in regards to facilities - Q1s pool is beautiful as well. Thank you for pointing out your experience in regards to the discounted tickets, I will follow up with my team to ensure we are quoting the correct prices to our guests as we normally do offer cheaper prices for multiple attractions around the Gold Coast. I appreciate your feedback about the apartment condition including the kitchen and beds, I am unable to see your name through this review, could you please send me an email to maria.salazar@wyn.com with your details so I can identify the apartment your stayed in and address the issues. We look foward to welcome you back in the near future. Kind Regards, Maria Salazar General Manager

Pros: The young staff were very nice and polite (when not selling) and the pool is good for kids. Own laundry is great.
Cons: Where do I start?
Pushy sales pitch as soon as you arrive? 30 min later up in your room to “welcome us” with beach towels and hard sell to get to 90min seminar. Called again the next day to try it on again. Our toilet did not flush so moved room as maintenance gone home. Moved back into room the next day after fixed - inconvenient to say the least with kids & packing / unpacking. Bathroom not very clean. Bedding is gross acrylic blanket with sheet on top WTF!? Sofa bed small and uncomfortable. We booked for our family of 4 but only 3 dining chairs in room. Was not made clear to us but there is no housekeeping during your stay. I was told there was a vacuum I could borrow and I could collect toilet paper from reception. We got a complimentary breakfast for the toilet issue. The breakfast buffet is extremely poor and overpriced. I had to ask the barman to go get someone to replenish the food as it was all running out and cold. Selection was very poor - the worst I have ever encountered. The tables in this area were dirty. Thank goodness I didn’t actually pay for it. When at the pool with my kids there was a constant stream of sales people coming through with prospective buyers spruiking the time share benefits . I would never stay at a Wyndham again based on this experience.

This would have to now be one of my Wyndham resort favourites! I have stayed in Caloundra, Sydney, Coffs Harbour and Kirra, but this one topped the lot! 11th floor, with everything at the doorstep, underground parking, everything close including the glitter strip and Cavill Avenue. The resort itself was immaculately maintained compared with some of Wyndhams older resorts I have stayed at, the staff were fantastic when we did have to speak with them, and the personalised card on our arrival was much appreciated! We was supposed to get a hinterland view, but instead got upgraded to the ocean view! I really didn’t want to come home! The eateries in the area are brilliant, (try curry express! For a nice curry!) you are able to walk everywhere around there I even found the same at night with no problems! Public transport via Glink Trams and Uber are available also! Delievroo for the restaurant’s If not going out is for you is also brilliant. I will be back to this resort!

Came here for a relaxing break from the work life routine. Stayed here because it was within walking distance of everything within Surfers Paradise. Tram stop 50mtrs away. Easy free car parking for our rental car. Wonderful pool and spa setup with bbqs and a nice undercover eating area. The room was clean and tidy and we had a room clean halfway through our weekly stay. Room was quiet with very little street noise and gave a good view of the beach (16th floor). Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Note this is a time share property and you may be asked to go to a presentation. All up we had a great stay and would stay again.

Location is very good with Tram nearly out the front. Ocean view and Balcony good. But apartments never look like the photos on booking sites, Firstly the entrance from the drop off drive is a small lift to Level 1, and the two front escalators have been blocked off and are due to reopen soon.
I was able to check it when I arrived at 11.30am, I asked for a room not too high up and a TV in the bedroom. Room was on Level 13 great view, but no TV in the bedroom, although connections were there on the wall, and no bedhead, no lamp over desk and the desk chair was ripped and all furniture very old and wooden. Needs updating. I did complain before unpacking but was told no other room available. I was contacted that evening by a lovely person welcoming me to the Wyndham but was also informing me about sales seminar the next day which I am not interested in.
But I did express my concerns to her, and I think her name was Jodie, and she was going to get someone to investigate my concerns. Also, there are no instructions on how to use TV and appliances.
Soon after a nice gentleman whose name starts with M discussed my concerns and showed me two other rooms, I could move to, but they did not have ocean views ,so I opted to stay put, at least he was very understanding, and gave me a free Breakfast voucher for my stay and arranged for a desk lamp. He really tried his best to look after me.
The pool area was huge with indoor BBQ and plenty of space, Café was small but meals OK. The Bathroom and Laundry were fine as the Kitchen.
This room needs new modern and comfortable furniture, two nice large flat screen TVs and it would make a world of difference.
The biggest plus for Wyndham is the staff, all very nice and engaging with a genuine effort to look after you, if they can.

I am happy to know that my team did everything they could to assist with you concerns, we love connecting with our guests. Please note we take feedback very seriously and I understand your comments in regards to the apartments. The apartments are individually owned and we are currently working with the owners to update the furniture and fittings including a TV in the bedroom and nice modern furniture. In regards to the escalators, we are very excited as the works will be completed in the next 2 weeks ( there has been multiple delays due to international courier parts). We stayed in a 2 bedroom room on the 13th floor. The kitchen was well equipted but would have liked another frying pan or a bigger on to speed up the cooking process as the room can accommodate 6 people one frying pan wasn't enough. The balcony was huge with awesome views. The beds including the pull out sofa was comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. The remote for the tv was a bit dodgy but might just need new batteries. All staff were polite and nice. The pool and spa were awesome even though it was raining we used the pool anyway and wasn't cold.

Never stayed before but a few friends recommended it and the price for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment with ocean view, I decided what the heck.
Reception on 1st floor. Had a feel like I was at the local surf club. Check in a breeze. We stayed on the top floor (17th floor), room was nice. The biggest disappointment was the balcony. View was good but privacy it was definitely not. They had like dividers on the balcony between rooms with a gap on the bottom so someone could definitely look through to the next balcony or inside the room. Lost a star for that reason.
Everything worked fine but paid $10 for faster wifi over the 2 nights. Was ok late at night but other times just disconnected like every 10 mins just by browsing.
Seating comfy, the bed was bliss. Bathroom big enough but the water pressure was ridiculous. I've stayed in hotels on the 37th floor and had no water pressure issues. Very disappointing hence you lost another star.
What was 5 star was the food from the cafe. I had the best club sandwich in my life and the fries, game over guys. Would stay here again for the bed & the food.
Car park good but make sure your brakes are not faulty. They could of moved the scanner at the flat part of the driveway.
The price, the bed, the facilities in the room & the food would be the reason I'd stay again.
Great staff, Jo was a breath of fresh air. 🤗

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wyndham Surfers, loved the overall vibe of the hotel and found the staff to be very helpful and warm.
We found the location to be perfect for our groups needs, we were within 5-7 mins walk of the main centre of surfers however we were out of the chaos!
2 Mins walk from the beach was perfect for us.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom ocean view apartment and highly recommend the accommodation option- the only downside was the sofa bed! It was very rough to the point where the couple that were supposed to sleep on it just slept on the actual sofa without pulling the bed out.
The pool and spa were fabulous!
We would return without hesitation to this hotel.

Yes bath towels provided in unit & pool towels upon request at reception. Underground parking is available via card access. So on arrival you need to park outside in driveway and book in and then they will give you the Card that will allow you access to carpark down steep driveway on left of reception.
Dear Az F,
Thank you for your message! Our undercover carpark has a height restriction of two (2) metres. Please feel free to give us a call if your car is higher, and we can direct you to some suitable alternative carparks in the nearby area?
