The room old and tired had cockroach infestation. The critters came out around the kitchenette area in great numbers at night. The room and maybe the apartment in general need to be fumigated to eradicate the critter infestation. A sliding door to the balcony could not lock. Location is great nearby and walking distance to the mall. The staff helpful and friendly.
We stated 19&20 Sept 2022 and found The Chermside Apartments excellent. The staff were welcoming and pleasant to deal with. Our apartment on the 5th floor was very clean, comfortable and good views. Easy walking distance to Chermside Shopping centre and Kedron Wavell RSL (great meals). We booked direct and they more than matched the price of other booking sites. Many stay with them while visiting the Prince Charles & Holy Spirit Hospitals. The complimentary continental breakfast is part of your stay is run by their who staff take turns to donate their time and food to provide this free breakfast to help those visiting the hospitals and specialists. The young lady volunteering at our breakfasts is a credit to herself and the organisation. We will certainly be staying there again.
We booked in to stay three nights and regret ever coming. Our shower floods the entire bathroom because the drain is blocked. Shower leaks from all corners. There’s mold on the walls, food left in the lounge, the kitchen equipment filthy, and rooms not being serviced daily. When talked to the reception tries to help by first saying they will move us rooms so to pack up. Then manager talks down to us, letting us know they will fix the shower and such later that afternoon. Overall the cleanliness is tragic, the service below par and the apartments in need of serious updating. We won’t be coming back and hope if anyone chooses to stay here they have a better outcome.
My wife and I booked in for 2 nights. When we arrived, I was told that Maintenance had been called to repair a broken window blind. Unfortunately due to a communication error, there was no-one from Maintenance available to fix the blind. I decided that we needed to check out of the Apartments as there was a lack of privacy in the room and no suitable replacement room was available. We left after asking for a Full Refund even though the booking was a No Cancellation one. The lovely staff have organised the Full Refund, without complaint, through our booking agent. Their interaction throughout this process was friendly, professional and considerate.
I stayed at the Chermside Apts for one night on Friday 15th July with my mother-in-law in a 2-bedroom apt. We had been visiting friends in Coomera and Gold Coast and our flight departed on Saturday 16th July in the morning. We decided to stay the night close to the airport. The apartment met all our requirements and was clean and we felt very safe. There was enclosed parking. We decided to have dinner at the Italian Restaurant on the premises, Via Tommaso. As guests staying at the apts we received a 20% discount so we gave it a go. Well, are we ever glad that we did. We had bruschetta to start and it was fresh, light and delicious. I ordered the Alla Norma: pan fried eggplant, sauteed in napoli, tossed with spaghetti and topped with ricotta and fresh basil. It was as good as anything that I had in Italy. My mother-in-law had garlic prawns, sauteed with butter, parsley, white wine & spring onion tossed with linguine which she loved. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and I wish that it were in Perth.…
We were displaced due to the recent flooding in Brisbane & landed here. They couldn't have been more accommodating. We originally booked for one night & ended up staying 3 weeks. I can not thank them enough the hospitality we received. Great location too, beside Chermside Shopping Centre, where I was also able to get on the bus for the 20 minute ride into the city.
Stayed here for a long weekend with family. We had 3 different styles of rooms on 3 different levels and they all had issues with cleaning. From dirty towels and stained sheets to rubbish still in the bin and filthy washing machines and dryers with things left in them. There was no complementary milk, dishwashing liquid, washing powder or tea towels in any rooms. VERY disappointed for the amount of money we paid to stay in rooms that where definitely not up to standard.
We made a sad trip to Brisbane and our go to is The Chermside. Amy was amazing and once again we felt comfortable and welcomed to our home away from home. Short trip from Brisbane Airport and close to whatever we need. Thanks for having us Chermside Apartments.
Booked accommodation in Oct 20 for a July 2021 sporting event for a large group, cancelled the booking Dec 2020 as the event was changed due to local council restrictions with COVID. Even though cancellation was 7 months prior to event they would not offer even a partial refund or credit. Disgusting way to treat a Not For Profit organisation. Manager would not even return calls or email - just simply kept the money. We understand that there should be an administration or cancellation fee but to keep the whole deposit which was considerable is disgusting. According to their website and their receptionist, the accommodation was fully booked so they did not lose anything. Greedy and disgusting conduct.
Nothing good about this place! I had to change rooms because the cutlery was dirty, the sheets had been slept in and not changed from the previous tenants, the microwave had food splattered in it. The next room they gave me, I checked the sheets and they were clean but the plates were dirty and there was a used towel in the bathroom. The balcony looked as though it had never been swept and had a cigarette butt on the ground. The staff were very apologetic.
