We were originally overcharged a night due to a mixup between “Booking.com” and “The Chermside Apartments” Sunday February 7th and we spoke to the guy at reception and he was extremely friendly and helpful.

Although the room is small, the room is clean and comfortable and met our needs. Due to COVID-19, breakfast is no longer served in a restaurant, but cereals, fruit and milk are available at reception.

Very limited car parking and we had to park on the street.

Reception hours varied due to COVID-19 and you need to pay extra for daily house keeping.

I made a last minute booking the day I travelled about 10am and arrived after 4pm. The receptionist hadn’t received my booking so I was sweet enough to upgrade us to the top floor however I booked a room with a bath for my small children so we had to be moved. The new room wasn’t very clean -
Perhaps needing a little paint etc however with an old towel on the back of the door. Otherwise no fault. I booked a room with breakfast included and there was no mention on where it was etc. Signs all over showed a breakfast room in level 1- it wasn’t open. On calling reception/ after hours we were notified there was no breakfast- no apology, no replacement, no refund. Covid 19 caused issues however a self contained apartment like the one I booked could’ve easily had the continental breakfast supplied in the fridge for us to enjoy. Left me disappointed as I then had to think about breakfast with a screaming child. Ended our stay with a bad taste unfortunately.

Fabulous lady on reception - Rebecca, who delivered great service. The room we were in was clean - tick for that. Our "outdoor balcony with fresh air and natural light" was a sad, dark little alcove off our room with cement walls on all sides apart from a 10 cm gap at the top of the wall that provided a great view of all the hotel's cleaning fluids. I reckon a prison courtyard would be less depressing! We were in 106, in the main building and it was really noisy. Anyone talking in the hall or going in and out of their rooms, or in the pool, echoes along the tiled wall and floor hallways. Parking was tight, we got the last spot so I pity other guests driving around trying to find on street parking. Overall, clean and nice lady on reception. Good Italian restaurant out front and in the heart of Chermside but the room was gloomy in terms of aspect and extremely noisy.

Accidentally left some well known brand items behind upon checking out.

Checked out, realised and phoned straight away knowing housekeeping would be in there cleaning room from our exit or by that time housekeeping would’ve flagged with manger of housekeeping/guest bookings that property has been left behind. Told that housekeeping will grab them and set aside. No one checked in yet, don’t worry.

1 week later, No response so Further follow up phone call and a visit in person to collect. Very busy, no one has looked in lost property yet (presumed mine would be on top or even set aside as reported it so quickly) details needed again which is a worry.....will check in lost property.

Another week later, Further follow up in person as no response, details needed again....Clearly no one has been looking into this. Will check in lost property. An hour later they phoned to say no sign of items.

Seems housekeeping has taken them or no one bothered to check the room properly or the next guest has helped themselves - both which could have been avoided if staff bothered to care & of course if I didn’t leave them behind :(

Watch your belongings here, no process for flagging of lost property and no follow up to try and reunite you with your property. After calling multiple times and visiting twice in person the items are gone.

Will not be back which is a shame as we are needing 3 months worth of short term accommodation in the area.

Booked through Wotif, photos looked good and price comparable to other properties in same area. The apartment certainly didn’t represent the photos online. The apartment is in disrepair, it’s filthy, we are staying here for 8 days as I had surgery and I am concerned about the cleanliness of this apartment. We have found used cotton buds, empty toilet roll holders, tampon wrappers and dirt and dust under the bathroom cabinet. All around the washing machine is washing powder, a pair of underpants and a used sock. In the second bedroom we found tickets and pens from 28 Septemer 2019. The lounge in the living area is sagging and needs a good clean with leather cleaner as its got drip marks from whoever stayed last, same amount of dirt, dust and tic tac boxes under the lounge. The fridge wasn’t working effectively meaning all the yoghurt and dairy we bought needs to be discarded. We had to ask for a broom to sweep the floors and balcony as it was so dirty, there were also cigarette butts and litter on the balcony, we are non smokers and do not expect to clean up someone else’s rubbish. When I booked I paid the higher price to have a daily service due to my surgery and this has not happened even though Reception assured us they would be there to do the room even after hours.
In this current climate of Covid 19, I am absolutely appalled and disgusted. I am considering reporting this to the Health Department for their investigation and would change properties if I could.

Booked accommodation in Oct 20 for a July 2021 sporting event for a large group, cancelled the booking Dec 2020 as the event was changed due to local council restrictions with COVID. Even though cancellation was 7 months prior to event they would not offer even a partial refund or credit. Disgusting way to treat a Not For Profit organisation. Manager would not even return calls or email - just simply kept the money. We understand that there should be an administration or cancellation fee but to keep the whole deposit which was considerable is disgusting. According to their website and their receptionist, the accommodation was fully booked so they did not lose anything. Greedy and disgusting conduct.

Stayed here for a long weekend with family. We had 3 different styles of rooms on 3 different levels and they all had issues with cleaning. From dirty towels and stained sheets to rubbish still in the bin and filthy washing machines and dryers with things left in them. There was no complementary milk, dishwashing liquid, washing powder or tea towels in any rooms. VERY disappointed for the amount of money we paid to stay in rooms that where definitely not up to standard.

A disgrace. Reception closes at 7pm, had to call a number to get the code to get the key. They hung up before telling me where/how to enter the hotel. Had to search around in the night, finally found it was through the underground parking. The only lift was out of service. Had to haul my luggage 7 flights of emergency fire escape stairs. My room had a funky smell and decoration was all black. Black wall, black bed, dark grey curtains, black wall to wall carpeting, black tiles on bathroom floor, black painting as decoration. Poor lighting. Balcony was fully walled all around. All you could see was a wall. Tap in bathroom sink had almost no water, just a tiny tiny flow dripping. Toiletries was just 3 bags of conditioner, shower gel dispenser was empty. Breakfast was indicated as "included" in my booking but it was only a "charity" toast and cereals served by staff 'donating' their time. With instant coffee.
To add injury to the damage, the owner exhibits his Ferrari in the reception room, right, someone who does not care for customer service, but showing off his wealth. So pathetic.

Most staff were lovely however one in particular made our stay a nightmare. Unhelpful. Unfriendly. Extremely unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We were completely stuffed around in January 2021. Our apartment wasnt ready and we had to stay in 3 small motel rooms. This stay (May 21) was to attend a funeral. We requested an early check in and were happy to pay however this was denied. A staff member advised he would see the room be ready so we could change after an inter state flight, only to be later told we couldnt by a rude lady admin worker. We had to get changed into funeral attire on the street. only reason we returned teh second time was due to the fact we had a credit. A credit which was reduced from original agreed amount. Do not waste your money here!

Upon entering the Foyer it had boutique on the wall ,well that's a lie. First impressions weren't good, leaves and gum paper on the floor,

Finger prints all over large mirror otherwise was looking ok

Fruit and snacks in foyer next to a water cooler with no cups

28 deg outside and walk into foyer and it's just as hot no AC. Uncomfortable for arrivals and not nice to have the fruit sitting out in that heat

Guy at reception wasn't friendly . Just told us our rooms ready no greeting small talk nothing very bland

Mouldy shower, dirty inside fridge with butter over egg part, something red spilled in freezer door holder.

Dishwasher overly noisy and rarely

Counter wasn't clean in kitchen

Verandah filthy.thick dust, old cotton buds on verandah . Dust so thick and also around outside air vents. Old cotton buds on verandah

Remote for tv didn't work. Had to get another with the batteries taped in as it had no cover. Tv didn't work, the aerial cable wasn't attached to anything it was just hanging,we couldn't plug it in but managed to lay it over another cable at the back so it touched and it worked.

Fridge door rubbers are black with mould, freezer had red drink spilt in it and fridge was dirty with crumbs and butter in egg container

Outside glass table was also thick with dust

For $1300 for 6 days and calling themselves boutique just didn't cut it

I reported a live paper wasp nest on our verandah but no one came to remove it. The wasps were flying around the verandah so we hardly went out there. We found clean towels in a hall cupboard ourselves and spare toilet paper, not sure if we were supposed to have these or what as housekeeping never came near us. I did appreciate the laundry in the bathroom. Next door smoked on the balcony so we had to keep our door shut. No one came to remove the wasp nest after I informed reception.

The lift was hidden in the underground car park which was a bit lonely

It is close to shops 5 min walk

Aircon Worked

Mould on skirting boards at bathroom door where water has flowed out to front door tiles and made a water mark

Microwave was clean and worked

Tv is so pixely and cuts out it wasn't worth having on at night until we figured out why

Parking is minimal and first come best dressed otherwise street parking is a no no and parking in the vacant lot next door is $5.
We wouldn't stay there again, views were of the centre car park and everyone else's balconies.
The double bed in one room was 2 singles shoved together and if sleeping in the middle of the bed you tend to push them apart and the seams sort of dig into you so you end up sleeping on one bed
