Room was spacious enough for us, but not huge. Pool was excellent. Good size, clean and good places to sit or relax. Bars and food were excellent. Gotta love happy hour. Staff friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

A Quiet Room was requested for 2 nights. We were well away from front of house where a single artist played in an open drinking area on the first night, however on the second night a loud heavy metal band played inside until 12.30 am which denied us of any sleep up to this time. The accommodation provided was average with only a Skylight provided in the room, there was mold in the shower recess and the bathroom light didn't work. This was reported but not rectified. The Hotel should advise on their website that Bands can play to after midnight and to bring Earplugs. The restaurant did provide delicious steaks and food in general but the overwhelming noise would deter us from staying here again.

We stayed for 2 nights. We were sadly disappointed. If you enjoy your sleep before 11-12pm do not stay here, they told us the live music would finish at 9pm (this wasn’t true). This is a very noisy place. Would be great for backpackers but not for couples or families who want to explore and get a decent sleep. The room was very basic.

Just perfect for a group booking. So affordable. The family rooms were huge. Food was delicious and great prices. Having the kitchen was a great added extra. The staff were amazing. Joy Joy was the best.

They put us in a room very close to the pub, is literally on top of the stage and they have live music every day till 10 pm plus people stay there drinking till past 11 pm. Very noisy place. I requested a room at the back but my request was not acknowledged by the receptionist until I put a complaint through booking.com which helped. Somebody contacted me and immediately they changed us to a very nice room at the back which was quieter and more modern. It was a very convenient place talking about location, good air con and good amenities.

After the first contact with Joy Joy, you know that your stay at the Cav will be one of a kind !! Top class service "Darwin Style" !! The food is absolutely brilliant and the room are dated - but super clean and the staff are simply the best. Just a fantastic place if you're on a budget.

Second stay here this month. Been coming here for 8 years. Being greeted by the lovely Joy Joy and Lance always gets the stay off to great start. Friendly staff, great food with big selections. Great price of drinks and meals and accommodation. Comfortable rooms with lots of room. Looking forward to the renovations being completed. Always hard to leave and always the first choice of accommodation for when I come to Darwin. Good location to city for shopping. The Cav has it all, highly recommended this place.

Very disappointed with our visit to the Cav yesterday. This is one of our favourite places to eat and we visit frequently. Lunch is from 11.30 - supposedly. We went to order just after 11.30 yesterday - no specials were on the board and there was no float in the till! I had the baby squid which is my all time favourite and I just love it - sadly it was totally different from the usual squid and not particularly nice - really disappointing. My friend had the pea and ham soup which she said was quite tasteless. Not happy Cav!!!

Absolutely awesome service by the staff at the Cav! Unfortunately I had to be hospitalised for a night the afternoon and had to extend our stay for another 3 nights. Joy Joy (the manager) was very compassionate and sympathetic and looked after us. The rooms were comfy and had great aircon and a full sized fridge instead of those tiny fridges. The pool is stunning and the atmosphere was incredible with live singers every night. Food was delicious. The 90 day grain fed, 40 day dry aged tri tip was heaven on a plate. Highly highly highly recommend. Will most definitely stay here next time we are in Darwin!
