Detailed Reviews
It’s a lovely resort that has a really nice pool area with lots of shaded & non-shaded areas to relax. The buildings only go as high as a second level so there’s never too many stairs to climb. The ‘superior room, 1 queen bed’ has a queen bed plus a single and is a decent size. Also has a balcony with table & chairs and big bathroom. However for the price, I would think the TV would be of higher quality - it functions fine with assorted channels but is outdated tech. WiFi is only free for 2 hours and then will cost $10 a day.
The food from Cossies Poolside Bar & Bistro is good but can get up there in price. A 330ml bottle of sprite was $5.00. The staff are all incredible!!
Location is amazing, 300m walk from the airport. Even in the heat it is an easy walk but if you have a lot of luggage, then it may be worth getting the shuttle (which I believe is an on-demand basis so call the hotel for details).
I am traveling solo for 5 days visiting family. It’s easy enough to get an Uber to where I need to go, city is 15 minutes away. UberEats has no available restaurants near by so keep that in mind if you tend to order from them frequently.
Overall a nice hotel especially if you like relaxing by the pool.

There is nothing more likely to get a traveller’s back up these days than to be charged for WiFi at a large, supposedly upmarket hotel. We paid $203 for one night’s accommodation and then were told Wi Fi would be $10 extra! If they had just charged us $213 for the night, and given us the free WiFi, we would have been quite happy with the room. On principle we did without our WiFi and did not use any other facilities, like restaurants, in the hotel.
These companies need to wake up to themselves!

I am an Accor Platinum member but I had so much trouble checking in at the hotel in indescribable. We had not prebooked this property as we did not know our movements in NT. The young woman at reception was totally clueless. We told her of our Accor status and said to us she will get the best room and we will get our member discount. Well, the room she gave was just a standard room after she told us that she had given us an upgrade. To rub salt into the wound she charged us the standard rather than member rate. We went back to reception and she said she will give us a different room with an upgrade. The second room was exactly the same room with an extra bed thrown in which made the space even more acute. I got fed up and told her we will go somewhere else. She was totally clueless and the least could have done was to ask her manager for help, but no, “she knew what she was doing” and she will fix it up. I got fed up and then used my phone to book On Line with member discount but as I knew she would not be able to upgrade us, I booked the highest category room which clearly could not be upgraded further. We asked her about breakfast and dinner and she told us that breakfast was available at Mercure but for dinner we had to go over the road to Novotel and use the Chinese restaurant there which did not give 50% discount. We found out ourselves that the restaurant at Mercure was open, albeit with limited choices, so we did not have to go anywhere else. All in all a frustrating experience. The room itself is adequate but featureless. There is no soul to the room. The restaurant is adequate given COVID restrictions.

We felt like we could be at any exotic place in the world while we were relaxing poolside waiting for check in to our resort bungalow. We were greeted at the taxi by our lovely receptionist who then sorted checkin for us. We were very early but were made instantly welcome as she took our bags and stored them while we waited for our room to be available. The pool was lagoon style and very family friendly looked very inviting but we were happy to just grab a bit of lunch and a couple of cocktails from Cossies Bar. Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was super comfortable and air conditioned to the perfect temperature. although it was a bit dated I was very happy with the feel it was well appointed There was a large fridge and kitchenette with microwave and a good size shower. Our deck was surrounded lush tropical garden overlooking the pool and the sound of the waterfall was calming. Very happy returning next week
Ps the towel animals and fresh flowers were such a nice touch for our anniversary thanks

This accommodation was chosen based on proximity to hospital and it was a very poor experience. When I arrived the room was poorly cleaned with a number of flies on the white sheets. This wasn’t a real surprise considering the flyscreen had many many large holes in it and was in a poor state. The following morning I had a cold shower and despite me commenting to the admin staff, this wasn’t fixed the following day so I had to complain again. Two days without hot water was very poor and there wasn’t any compensation etc. The room was poorly cleaned with a significant dust build up in the bathroom where towels were then placed on top of. One night the sheets they put on the bed closely resembled sand paper and so I phoned to get them replaced, with an employee coming around and dropping off new sheets and leaving them on the kitchen bench without making the bed up. I had to make the bed myself with the new sheets. A lot of money was paid for the room and the hotel was really disappointing.

Dear nataliecL3125LM, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am so sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations regarding the room and service and that there was no hot water during your stay. Pleas trust, this is not how we would like to look after any of our guests and I have addressed your concerns with the team to ensure this does not happen again. I am really sorry that your stay was not a relaxing one. It is our hope that you will give us another chance to serve you better in the future. All the best and kind regards, Kim S Operations Manager

Was gifted a nights accommodation
at the Mecure Darwin Airport in the tropical pool villa cabin and wow! From the moment we walked in it was like we were somewhere on a holiday!
Full view of a beautiful bush setting and a good size private pool, full privacy on balcony, room is a great size and not too small, very clean, lovely furnishings, comfy bed, large bathroom with some complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. Room has a coffee machine including coffee pods, complimentary water bottles and fruit on arrival. Mini bar, room service is also available.
Resturant on-site and a lovely resort pool also on the property away from the tropical pool villa cabin. The tropical pool villa cabin is a luxury private stay hence the price which is in the mid $500 mark (depending on month).
Breakfast buffet $29pp
Cossies restaurant offers a selection of great meals for dine in or room service. Prices are average as any other restaurants. The meals we ordered were large and lovely.
Staff were lovely and promt with requests.
Would definitely love to stay again.

This was a highlight of my brief stay in Darwin. Although the hotel is situated at the airport it was only a $25 Uber trip away from the city centre but the hotel itself was so convenient and with the private pool it was really great while the room itself was a good size with all the convenience a person needs. Well done!!

We stayed here on the start and the end of our NT trip. The free airport shuttle was a bonus. After collecting our luggage, we found the phone to call for our pick up. Didn’t have to wait long. We were upgraded both times to a spa room. It was huge, with a small kitchenette, dining and lounge area with TV., seperate bedroom and huge bathroom with spa bath and decent sized shower. Bed was extremely comfortable, air con and ceiling fans were very effective. There was even complimentary bottle water, quite unusual for Australian hotels. We had breakfast and dinner at Cossies, because we get dining discount as Accor members. Food was excellent and service was professional. Pool area was nice with good supply of clean pool towels, even with some precious guests that think it is too hard for them to take their used towels and place them, in the laundry baskets provided after they are done! Highly recommend this property, very friendly staff. This is the best accommodation we’ve stayed in NT.

Very friendly helpful staff from arrival on reception , at the restaurant through to check out and the driver on the Mercure transport bus .
Very clean , staff cleaning areas as patrons left
Overall ambience of Mercure Airport Darwin is one of relaxation and calm
Menu and food from their restaurant was great and available take away . I was able to consume a nice cold beverage while waiting and then a short walk to my room and ate dinner at the provided desk and chair while arching TV in a great air conditioned room

I have stayed here often through work and I have to commend this place for managing to be consistently terrible regardless of staff changes and/or time of year, busyness etc.
Even by Darwin’s ‘relaxed’ standards the service is so slow it’s almost glacial. Checking in is a painful process- if you can even do that. On one occasion recently none of the guests rooms were ready so we were forced to wait around until 4:30pm before we could check in. Phoning reception and/or room service is also painful with calls regularly going unanswered
The queue for the bar/restaurant is often out the door as there only ever seems to be one person serving.
The menu in Cossies restaurant is very basic and the quality poor. On multiple occasions I’ve had to complain about the food being cold when I received it. Sadly, the airport location doesn’t offer up any better alternatives either
As for the rooms themselves, unless you are lucky enough to score yourself a bungalow, you’ll probably wind up in what can only be described as a prison cell - small, cramped, blocks with just a single door leading to a tiny bricked verandah.
Really the only thing this place has going for it, is it’s pool which is admittedly rather lovely.

No, maintenance has basically stopped as far as I know. Might be better after Covid, but I think it needs a management change.
We are on a 6am flight to Singapore so what time does the shuttle service run or will I need a taxi.
Hi , not sure on shuttle bus, it took me around 5-10 minutes to walk from terminal to hotel, stayed at both of the hotels and would recommend either
There is also a free shuttle service operated by the hotel.
Exactly what we needed. Ask for a late check out, and you shouldn't need to pay for the extra time. They will store your bags at reception, and just stay by the pool and use the facilities restraunt and bar until its time to go to the airport.Free shuttle from hotel too.
