Nestled in a coveted spot, Hilton Darwin delights guests with its strategic location near the Esplanade and waterfront attractions. The establishment is celebrated for offering value through affordable dining and well-appointed rooms, although a few guests mention costly extras. Rooms on higher floors are particularly praised for their sweeping views and spaciousness, though some have noted issues with humidity.
The service stands out as professional and caring, with housekeeping and front desk staff frequently receiving accolades, despite occasional service hiccups. Cleanliness is a strong suit of the hotel, complemented by an inviting contemporary atmosphere and a range of amenities, though the executive lounge and breakfast offerings sometimes fall short of guest expectations.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed five nights at the Hilton Darwin, and were very pleased with the whole experience. We stayed in a suite on the Club Lounge floor. The decor was a little dated , and the room a little musty for the first day, but the air conditioning kicked in nicely to disperse any mustiness.
The Club Lounge was excellent- plenty of space , beverages available , and substantial canapés from 5pm to 7pm.
The hotel restaurant- Pepperberry - provided an adequate breakfast and an excellent dinner: a wide menu , with every dish beautifully cooked.
On the 2 days where we had early tours and so left before breakfast was open, the hotel made up breakfast boxes for us, which were appreciated.
The hotel was a little short-staffed, which is par for the course for so many businesses these days. However EVERY staff member was extremely pleasant and went out of their way to assist .
The hotel is well- located .
We thoroughly recommend it.

As a member of the Hilton group we were offered an upgrade at an excellent price to a harbour view room and access to a club lounge which offered free drinks and nibbles between 5.30 and 7.30 each evening
The room was clean, comfortable with a great shower
We did eat in the restaurant where the food was well presented but huge portions. Service was a bit slow and the staff didn’t always seem sure about the menu contents
We ate breakfast in the breakfast area with a good choice of options. Some of the seating is in urgent need of refurbishment.
The hotel is well located close to the shops, the seafront and many restaurant choices
There is a small pool and area on the 10th floor.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Central location changed rooms due to not clean room given first time still had dental floss in shower toilet seat not fitted properly. Staff where great in restaurant and bar room service limited menu. Room cleaning was slow but staff cleaned well when asked front desk regarding this at 230 pm as wanting to shower after being out in the heat was told lots check ins but gave a afternoon pass to executive lounge which had cold water and somewhere to sit while waiting for room to be cleaned. Would recommend for a central location try Phat Mango for a great meal and Matt wright tours next time i would be staying in cullen bay or mindill beach much nicer location and cleaner streets

Thank you very much for staying at the Hilton Darwin and for taking the timer to write a review on TripAdvisor. I am happy to hear that you had a good stay. I am sorry to hear that you had a small issue with the cleanliness of the room and I would like to apologize. As you most likely know, there is currently a severe shortage of staff in the NT which also effects us a little. I am glad to hear that you liked our newly renovated Executive Lounge and I hope you had the opportunity to dine in our award-winning PepperBerry Restaurant. Kind Regards and we hope to see you soon again, Markus Kaliss - General Manager

I have been having staycations at Hilton Darwin as COVID was limiting a lot of our travel plans and those stays were really nice (plus Pepperberry is one of my favourites). So when I booked the hotel to spend our New Year's Eve there, I was shocked that the whole stay was very abysmal. For a technically $400/night stay on that peak date, I think it's only fair that I expect non-stained bedsheets and pillowcase. When I flagged this with reception, all they did was to leave the replacement sheets on the bed and we had to struggle replacing it ourselves. This is a minor task but admittedly did not help the situation of finding blood-coloured stain on sheets.
Second, room 1430 (corner room) was a mistake. I chose it myself through the Hilton Honours app as I thought it will be the quietest. I was very wrong. The noise of the door opening and closing from the room beside us is so loud that I jump every time it happens and my partner ended up not being able to sleep because of it. The hotel had advised early on that it's full occupancy so we didn't try to change rooms anymore.
Third, for $400 a night, you'd expect complimentary water bottles. Haha, nope. We expected wrong. What an insult.
Fourth, no free movies whatsoever as well.
And fifth, we went down for breakfast at 8:20AM. They had a massive waitlist and we ended up waiting close to an hour and then another line in the buffet that cost us another 20 minutes. All these waiting while we were dehydrated and hung over from New Year festivities. I am just confused as to why there was a massive wait? Was that the first time the hotel ever experienced full vacancy to not anticipate or plan the breakfast rush properly? It was bizarre. Props to the staff though, I saw them trying to cater to irate customers at such an early time of the day. By the time we finished eating it was 10:00AM and it delayed our day's plans.
All in all, I'm rating it 2/5 only because my other stays were okay. It's just really bad that the worst experience was on a special day and the most expensive at that. Consistency is key.

Thank you very much for staying at Hilton Darwin and for sharing your feedback with us. I am very sorry to hear that we did not fully meet your expectations and I would like to apologize for that. I have discussed the cleanliness issues with my housekeepers in order to avoid similar issues in the future. For environmental issues, we do no longer supply free water in plastic bottles in the room in order to reduce our plastic waste. The water in Darwin is safe to drink and we provide mineral water in all of our minibars. I am sorry to hear that this option did not work for you. Breakfast can be a challenge is all guest decide to dine at the same time during a high occupancy day. The current staff shortage in the NT does of course not help us and I would like to apologize again for the wait. Once again, thank you for your feedback which is helpful to improve services and processes and we hope to have another opportunity in the future to welcome you. Kind Regards, Markus Kaliss - General Manager

Very very disappointed after a 2 day weekend stay at the Hilton, there was no mini bar in our room and when my Husband asked about it he was ignored, we asked 3 times over our stay but yet at check out we were asked if we had touched anything from the mini bar when telling Staff we didn't have one the lady at reception didn't even give a damn. Breakfast on both days were cold even our coffee and hot chocolates were literally cold like they were taken out of the fridge. We order 2 orange jucies with breakfast received 1, butter for our toast was melted (actually metled), no room service menu in the room, only local channels no foxtel. Overall all the only great thing about our stay was the bed being comfy, Myself and Husband are long time Territorians that have stayed at this hotel many times but after this weekend we differently won't be staying here as we just lost $400 due to the Hiltons poor standards.

Dear Biancam443 Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience here. Your support is appreciated and the feedback you provide is highly valued. We are very sorry we did not exceed your expectations during your last stay with us and your comments on the minibar and breakfast are noted. Unfortunately, the restaurant was under renovation during your stay but we are happy to confirm now that the restaurant has finally opened with first class breakfast buffet offerings. We have a new Stay & Dine package available on Tourism Top End and we would love to have you back and see the changes we've made in the lobby, restaurant and bar & lounge. I hope you will give us a chance to rediscover the Hilton and make it right for you this time around. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. When booking, be sure to add the breakfast option as the breakfast buffet is very nice. We opted for a Harbourview room and added the package for a higher level and the Executive Club, which served very nice finger food and unlimited drinks before going out for dinner. We chose this hotel as our tour started from here early in the morning. The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk to the bus station and teh city restaurants. There is an eco plan for room cleaning. The outdoor pool is not heated, but is very private with many deck chairs. The gym had well maintained equipment. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day.

+1
We stayed 4 nights at the end of our Kimberley Tour. I found the service pleasant but did feel they talk the talk but do not walk the walk, so to speak.
A card on the bedside table states Hilton changes the bed linen after the third night unless you request differently. Our sheets were not changed in 4 nights.
The notice stuck to the mirror espoused their COVID protocols and surface cleaning practices. Well, there was enough dust on the glass shelves in to write words in.
The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and the shower ceiling area had definitely seen better days-peeling paint, mould, etc.
I shared the feedback at the desk and was "thanked for the feedback".
I shared the feedback in the post stay questionnaire and survey-no response.
I was not and am not expecting anything other than an acknowledgement, but they are simply not a 5 star facility charging 5 star rates.

Upon arriving at the Hilton Darwin the reception staff were unsure of the date changes I had made to my booking, they couldn’t confirm if breakfast been included, I was advised they would look into this and get back to us, although by the second day they were still unsure; inviting us to have breakfast until they had made the appropriate enquires, by the third day we had ceased eating at the hotel due to lack of communication as promised.
This was just the beginning...we booked a week long stay for my brothers 21st birthday.
Entering my room there was quiet a musty smell. The aircon vent was covered in dust and I presumed this was the cause, complaining to reception I was told there were no other rooms to be relocated too as the city was booked out. The smell got increasingly worse over the next day or so and much to our disgust we found a rotting mouse in the corner of the room under the arm chair.
The coffee and tea provided in the room was wet and unusable the teacups were marked and obviously not cleaned properly, the overall cleanliness of the hotel is not what you would expect for 5 star quality.
Parking wasn’t included in the cost, we were not advised of this until arriving at the hotel where we were given the option to pay $39 a day for parking or find alternative parking.

Stayed here for a New Years holiday. Location is great, right across the road from the beautiful Hotel Darwin, and near the food court that serves authentic, good quality asian foods at very cheap prices. Pool is good, has a spa and lots of seating and pool towels available for guests. Toiletries provided were all of very good quality.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. The only (small) negative is that while the foyer areas and restaurant/bar are all lovely, the rooms themselves are feeling a little dated and in need of renovation.

What a dump!It started when i checked in. The restaurant is under construction and the banging was so loud that i couldn't hear word the hotel receptionist was saying. took the elevator to my floor and the hallways were drab and dark with a color choice of an ugly brown. Went into my room and it looks like the room hasnt been renovated in over 10 years. the stain on all the furniture was peeling, the color choices continued that ugly brown theme. Went into the shower and there was a huge water bug. The hotel is on Mitchell street where a lot of homeless hang out. It wasn't unsafe but but its not the aesthetic i want especially considering the price I paid. Do yourself a favor and stay one street over and stay on the Esplanade. Much nicer. Someone had recommended that i stay at the Mantra on Esplanade which looked nicer when i drove by. The only reason i didn't give this 1 star was that the front desk was nice and helpful and the gym was decent.

Yes, it was found in the cupboard near the closet. Nice teas, too.
I am sorry for the delay in responding to your questions.
The pool and breakfast was only shut during the recent snap lock down. This was due to government regulations.
All facilities and serviced are currently open.

When I was there 2 weeks ago it was (finally) being finished - the manager thought it would only be a few weeks more. It was supposed to be finished in May and they have had delay after delay.
However if that is important to you I would recommend ringing the hotel to find out, and I would recommend waiting until it is actually finished. So far predictions have not played out.
