Hotel's Favorite
It is one of the best hotels in Darwin. Rooms are ver spacious and the hotel is located at a convenient location. The reception staff is very helpful. I should specially mention Akash in the reception for rendering all help to newcomers like us. Breakfast spread is also very good. The big retail shopping outlet Woolworths is at a walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed this hotel, I stayed here 2 nights although not consecutive. The first room I had was on the ground floor just off the reception area, look it wasn't great, I kind of felt like I was in the basement but it was good enough. Then a few nights later I was back and had a room on the 3rd floor which was beautiful, overlooked the pool and was much brighter. The bar was good, the breakfast was fab, the pool was perfect and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. There's a woolies about a 2 minute walk down the road and Mitchell St and the Harbour front are a very short walk to where it's all happening. Overall a lovely stay but I do recommend you request a room on a higher floor xx The pic is the ground floor room.

The photos online are very deceptive, this is not a nice hotel. Our room was big but there were stains on the carpet and some food or something spilt on the side of the couch. The bathroom has calcium build-up in the shower and just doesn't look overly clean despite the chemical smell. The curtains have many hooks missing so you have to adjust them yourself to make sure you aren't getting an eyeful of sun with the sunrise and all the linen is old looking, crunchy and has that nice bleach smell. The furniture in the restaurant downstairs looks well used, our meals were not very appetising at all, we poked at it and then just walked away from them. The reception staff were helpful and professional until we enquired about an hour longer checkout time and got a very abrasive response rather than a polite decline, this hotel is not somewhere we would recommend.…

H on Smith is in a good location with good facilities, generous and very clean rooms, but let down by slow and, imho, somewhat unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff. When asked whether they could ring a taxi for me, I was given a card to ring myself. The reception desk was frequently unattended. There is a bell ... We had dinner at the restaurant and it was good. Continental breakfast is the usual fare; toast, croissants, fresh fruit and fruitsalad, yogurt, several hot beverages, etc. ($ 19.00). Did not try the cooked breakfast ($24.00). I stayed in a 'Superior Queen Room', on the first floor, for two nights. There were no views, but the window was nicely covered by greenery, which provided privacy and which I actually quite liked. The room was huge! The sofa could be turned into a bed if necessary. There was one lounge chair. The superior room has a spa bath. There was a connecting door to the room next door and the people occupying it were a bit noisy, but it was bearable. A good night's sleep is important to me and the bed was very comfortable. I paid $ 368/night through Booking.com Halikos' 'Terms and services' re $100.00 bond: "H on Smith and Halikos Hospitality reserves the right to request photo identification on arrival, and will process a security deposit of $100 per room occupied. This preauthorization will be released on checkout and confirmation of no damage or additional consumption of services during the guests stay with us." I was annoyed that it took four days for the bond to be released. My friend's bond was released on the day of check-out. I am not sure whether this has anything to do with whom one makes the booking. Would I stay at H on Smith again? Despite some of the above-mentioned comments? Yes. …

We had a good, large, and comfortable room. I believe it was normally for handicapped people. As it was large and with a very large bathroom. Only problem with this room was that there was no screen for the shower and water spreads everywhere, even to the floor near the toilet. We learnt that we could not turn the shower on very fast because of this. Good location but not on the waterfront.

Great location easy to get to anywhere from here, walking distance to supermarket, restaurants and nightlife. Good size rooms, with everything you need, pool and on site restaurant and bar on the ground floor, the hotel also has onsite parking on the ground floor which is handy, this is my 3rd stay at this hotel.

THE HOTEL IS IN AN IDEAL LOCATION AND IN EASY WALKING DISTANCE TO BOTH ENTERTAINMENT AND EATERIES. THE HOTEL HAS A HAPPY HOUR FROM 4PM TO 6PM AND SERVES A SUBSTANTIAL BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER. THE DINNING ROOM OVERLOOKS THE POOL. IT IS WELL CLASSIFIED AT 4 STARS.

Great price, great location and exceptional service. Breakfast was adequate… continental breakfast was included and could order hot food as well. Very central to everything and well kept property. Reception team was helpful and we will be back.
