Been living here for a few weeks renting at the cost of 360$ per week with my boyfriend. They closed the pool several times for over a week at a time and expect me and my partner to pay the same amount as when we first arrived but with no pool. I’ve asked soooo many time’s at reception for management to contact me and there has been zero contact. The receptionist just reply with “I don’t know” and won’t pass on any info. I ask when the pool will reopen “I don’t know” constantly. So unprofessional as we are paying customers and deserve some heads up or discount. I would say in previous management this place has ran nicely but at the minute avoid at all costs because it’s a joke here at the moment!

Stayed at the Frontier Hotel for two nights. One pillow provided per bed, requested more pillows at reception (phone in room not connected), was advised they had no more pillows and provided couch cushions instead. Limited lighting in the rooms and one of these had blown. Water pressure in the shower was reasonable. Rooms are certainly showing signs of their age with water damage to bathroom splash backs. Pool was pleasant. For the price, there are certainly other places in Darwin that are better value for money.

I’m not sure what makes it 3.5*, but they got this very wrong. Rooms dated, water damaged, noisy (3rd floor pool facing) great water pressure was a plus though, & linen was clean. Rooms not maintained once in 7 days, no spare toilet rolls, or rubbish removal. Daily in-house arguments between restaurant & accomodation regards availability of meals. (Work it out between yourselves in-house - one night dinner is on a plate, the next its in a takeaway box with no cutlery provided) One working washing machine in guest laundry. If I was paying I would change hotels rather than spend another week here.

What a total dump! Do not stay here at any cost, the room was filthy, cobwebs everywhere, my daughter had 3 spiders next to her bed. I looked under the sink to see what I thought was a bug turns out it was false eyelash! The room was also crawling with tiny mites!! The fridge was warm, the kettle didn’t work. The door didn’t even have a lock on it.
The hotel should not be advertised as suitable for families as all! It is clearly used for FIFO/shift worker with them tilting out the front smoking and drinking, as well as around the pool (which is covered in animal droppings and uneven paving). The pool side furniture was a miss match of old furniture, I dare not sit in any of it.
The whole time we were there out bin was never emptied and never given fresh towels, note as well 3 of us in the room and only given 2 towels.

Avoid at all costs.

The rooms are large by Hotel standards and a great base for me to work from in Darwin. A large desk is in the room, rooms are clean and the bed is very comfortable. Plenty of off street free parking as well. The staff are all super helpful, the location is very convenient and there is a decent size swimming pool to do "laps" in. Downstairs is a great Pub with cold beer and a superb steak on offer at a great price I can't find anywhere else in Darwin. I'll be back to this Hotel every time I'm in Darwin!

Travellers beware.
This hotel is a virus waiting to happen,we booked 7 nights here and after the first night we were ready to leave. The place needs to be condemned the cleanliness is non existent the staff do not care.We had a room leading to the pool outside our door was rubbish that has built up over several weeks an ash tray that has not been removed in months. The room needs to stripped and sanitised behind the bed was over an inch of built up dust food scraps and general dirt. The bathroom smelt of mould and looked like it was cleaned 6 months prior. The Airconditioning leaked like a torpedoed ship. They have a vending machine in the lobby we purchased a few items from it they were 6 months out of date when I told management about it they said it’s not their responsibility.
Overall please do not get sucked in by the pictures on website as these must of been photoshopped as the place is a pig sty.

My advice stay away.

We got asked to pay an extra $100 at the desk upon check in so that they can hold our card in case of room damages. We checked out on a Monday morning and got told that the $100 would be back by Tuesday as Monday was a public holiday. After days of not having this money back we called only to get told that it actually takes 10 days to go back into our account, which is very different to what we got told upon check out. We understand having to keep a card on file to cover any room damages etc but blatantly lying to guests is not great, if we had of known this prior to booking we would not have stayed here as $100 is a lot to lose on a holiday. customer service said there is nothing they would do as they never took our money from our account and released it when they promised, but they didn’t explain that the turn around is actually a full 10 days. Every other hotel I’ve stayed at has only ever charged a $1 card holding fee.

Hi petersD2095QW, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Will certainly address these issues with our team. Thanks again, Frontier Hotel Darwin

Ok so this hotel is not romantic and is dated. But if you’re not expecting too much it’s fine. This time the aircon in my room was dripping water so they moved me.
I’ve stayed here a lot and I believe it should be cheaper, but it’s ok. Free parking, good Aussie pub downstairs and you can grab a scooter and ride into town.
Compare prices to other nearby hotels and you’ll soon see it’s on the cheaper side, so unfair to compare with 4-5star in a bigger price bracket.
In peak season nothing is cheap in Darwin.

Spacious room advertised is small. Breakfast buffet advertised does not exist & nowhere close to get it as it’s a fair walk into town.No microwave or hairdryer one mirror in the bathroom so only one person can get ready at a time.No fan in the bathroom so mirror gets foggy and bathroom needs a good scrub. Towels are tiny. Beds ok but can feel springs, pillow flat. Rooms made up if asked Towels have a strange dirty color No apology for bug carcass in the bed and when housekeeping was called to ask about it she said there’d been a problem getting fresh bedding so was it even changed? Receptionist reported to management who we didn’t hear from mind you. Pool is adjacent to beer garden in full view of patrons. Tradies and Yahoos from bar come into the pool area to have loud conversations using very crass language smoking Very uncomfortable using the pool so the young girls and ourselves left and went back to our rooms. Pool area needs weeding and a good clean pool itself is clean. It wouldn’t take much for it to look a lot better. Friday night went to get drink for pool area and barmaid was naked. Where’s the disclaimer for that when you book your rooms. Can hear phone call in bathroom next door from our bathroom. Rooftop restaurant was closed. They don’t know why or for how long. .
There were doors banging all night. Then comes Saturday night. We decided to get meal at the pub part of the accommodation. If you though it was bad so far It’s about to get worse. Just went to order snacks for around the pool and book dinner tonight and it turns out, wait for it, the chef quit, just walked out
What an experience one we won’t repeat.
