Pretty disgusted that this hotel would not even come half way and offer a credit for one of the two nights booked this weekend. We initially made a booking with cancellation but because the lock down period for Victoria happened so suddenly we were unable to cancel within time period. We rang on Thursday re our Friday/Saturday booking, advised to cancel on line, didn’t go through, rang at 10.30am this morning and were told that we were considered ‘No Shows’. Totally out of our control and we weren’t asking for a refund – just a one night credit for when we return to Sydney. No acknowledgment of the issue just a blanket ‘no’. This hotel doesn’t care so don’t book here!

Last minute COVID rest. put an end to my weekend away in Syd. Megaboom, it’s non existent management & not so helpful (you would imagine, almost programmed) staff members customer service was woeful. Last minute admittedly, but all I was asking for was for a date change or credit. Like many others I booked in here as the price for a solo traveller was good, but DO SO AT YOUR OWN PERIL !!! In such unsettled times as COVID, I would not go near these guys, pay the extra & go with someone more flexible & understanding. Lesson learned ! Thumbs up, Jetstar - your flight credit was a fabulous end to this disasterous journey.

Second stay here and can not fault Megaboom for a reasonably priced short stay right in the heart of the city. Rooms are small but clean, king size bed was comfy, bathroom is a good size and clean, air-con worked fine, couldn't hear any city noises at night so had a great sleep and had no troubles at all with check in/out. Overall a great place and I'll be back.

Because this hotel is not locally owned, they do not have to follow Australian Government guidelines on policy. For bookings cancelled due to the virus, Govn has advised that these should be refunded despite the non-refundable conditions. It does not apply to companies not locally owned. Sad.

Had a comedy show to go to at the Opera House and this hotel was reasonably close and more affordable than others. The room was quiet and clean. A bit tight around the bed area. Bed wasn't the best but more than acceptable. Furniture a bit run down and could be replaced Reception was friendly and check in and check out was a breeze. Would have no problem staying here if in the region.
