I was back to this hotel for a couple of nights, with one of them comped by management due to some issues last stay - which was very nice of them. But. Still a fail. This hotel is NOT suitable for the business traveller. Is 6.30am as I write this and can’t even get breakfast at the restaurant or room service. Just makes no sense.
Our weekend away was well spent at Pier One. It was lovely to see the hotel busy with guests and events. The decor was beautiful in our rooms - love the quirky touch of the celebration kit and cocktails complete with shaker. We had dinner at the Gantry which was limited to the tasting menu. The food was lovely but you are limited in selection. The service was outstanding. I would not fault any of the personnel! From the concierge to the valet to the bar staff to the wait staff. Wonderfully friendly. The only complaint would be the showers. Pressure is very lacking. But that would be my only issue for the whole weekend.
We are Sydneysiders who stayed at Pier One last weekend for our 25th anniversary. From our lovely harbour view room to the little extras, we felt so welcome and looked after by the Pier One staff from the moment we arrived. Our room was recently renovated, spotless and our bed was super comfortable - not something every hotel can offer! Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff here. We would absolutely recommend Pier One Sydney Harbour to locals or visitors for a wonderful stay. Thank you - and we can't wait to stay again!
Pier One is a lovely area to hold functions and to stay - you can’t go wrong being at the heart of Sydney together with the lovely view. The staff is massively friendly and accommodating to assist with my sister’s bday party. I’d also like to cheerfully mention that there’s a very kindhearted staff personal at the Pier One, Sophia, who was always helpful, kind and very sweet to accommodate the guest. All the other staff were also really nice but Sophia really stood out and is quite the sociable type to get along with anyone - makes you feel like you have a friend assisting rather than your normal staff doing routine checks if you’re behaving. Anyway, 5 stars for the service. Another 10 more for Sophia alone for being a gem.
Every thing about this place looked great on paper and there is no doubt it's in a spectacular position. However in reality it juts didn't quite live up to the image. Check in was odd in that they didn't have my booking so I had to go back through my emails to prove I had booked. No apology. The rooms are OK but a little small. Lots of nick nack stuff you could buy, like condoms, playing cards, phone chargers etc. All of this in the room. Sitting outside having lunch was lovely and the staff very friendly but I think the lock down gave it a slighly amateurish feel to it. Nothing bad, just not really sharp. Breakfast was pathetic. I forget what I ordered but it was really basic and it took over 45 minutes to get it. That really cheesed me off. They didn't seem too perturbed when I mentioned the delay. Once I got it it was nice. Overall it was a nice 4 day stay. I'm not sure we'd stay there again but we might. That's the sort of feeling we have about it.…
