Clean hotel in an excellent location. Close to Circular Quay with access to the CBD, Trains, Ferries and Light Rail. Building is a little dated but perfect for a short stay when you are out sightseeing all day. Small rooftop pool was perfect for kids.
The location was good for what I had to do in The Rocks. I have never had hotel accommodation so basic that you have to provide your own soap. No power point available at the side of the bed I prefer to sleep on, required for my CPAP machine.
As a long-standing loyal Rydges customer I was eager to try this new Rydges property. The bed was comfy, pillows great (a selection of soft and firm). I had partial views of the Opera House. D Harbour bridge, perfecto. I even had a morning jog across the bridge. What was sadly lacking was breakfast. I was the only one at 7am and staff were slow. With no buffet breakfast I ordered eggs. The smallest portion ever and I buttered toast. That was disappointing it seemed like they just weren’t prepared for customers! Otherwise a good stay.
I felt really looked after from the moment of check-in. The room was clean and inviting. Happy hour and room service were affordable. We all had so much fun in our short stay. We met other families at this resort also and all the guests seemed so chilled and relaxed. My kids did not want to go home. We cant wait to come back again soon.
We stayed at this hotel for our wedding anniversary for 2 days. Firstly I booked the deluxe king Harbourview room. Beware the pictures are a lie. They had high ceilings and were apparently large rooms, 509 was pokey. We were given room 509 which was nothing like the picture but did at least have a partial harbour view. The bathroom was dated, mouldy and so tiny even for 2 people. The sink was blocked and didn’t drain, the toilet seat was loose. The room was dirty and grotty and the not cleaned that well. We got in there after a late check out . The room had low ceilings and there was a connecting door which we could hear everything in the next room which included the guests showering at 3 am. The was also an annoying click sound every 15 mins all night long. Even ear plugs didn’t help. The 2 days were the worst sleep I’ve ever had. I rang the reception the next morning and was rudely advised we were in the right room and they were all the same and we couldn’t be moved as all the others we occupied. I do not believe we were given the correct room. The hotel lacked soul and was not even asked how our stay was when checked out. Probably just as well as I would’ve have probably gone off on how bad the room was. Don’t say you are 4 star accommodation when really it may be a 2 at best if you were a motel. This was the worst experience I’ve had for a joyous occasion. Bitterly disappointed.…
