In January we bought a coupon for two nights in a room with chimney. For various reasons we could not show up until end of March, so no snow was in the enviroments.
However, the new owner gave us a lot of useful hints for visiting places around.
First we visited the source of the river Ebro. Next day, after having an extensive breakfast including freshly pressed orange juice and homemade jams we went up a pass nearby, unfortunately with covered sky. But a lot of free-running horses made the day. Then we went to visit the skiing station of Alto Campoo. Obviously, being used to places like St. Moritz or Montana-Crans in Switzerland, we were not very surprised. Later we had lunch in the taverna of the nearby castle de San Vicente, en ArgĂĽeso. The steak recommended by the owner of our hotel was just outstanding, to say the least, one of the best I had ever in my life! As we arrived early for having lunch, the friendly owner invited us in the garden for an apetizer consisting in anchoas in vinagre and a dry Xerez. Later we visited the castle, recently renovated and showing an exihition of modern art. We had a light dinner again at the Casa de las Brujas, prepared by the charming lady-owner.
Conclusion: definitely we will visit the place again, obviously in plain winter time.

We visited this hotel in July 2014. We were very impressed on arrival; peaceful rural setting, very nicely restored period building, lovely exposed stone walls, wooden vaulted ceilings, lots of little touches on the 'witches' theme. The hotel has bags of character. Very friendly owners which is important when you visit such guest houses. We loved the bedroom; it was finished to a high standard, nice decoration, good beds. Bathroom ok.

The positives to staying here include the super peaceful rural setting and the wonderful atmosphere created by the carefully restored and decorated building. Ideal for couples seeking a relaxing break.

I guess it should be noted that it is very remote - that was great for us but maybe not so for others. You could go for nice walks without being bothered by tourism. Having said that it is only 5mins drive from Reinosa which is a pretty big town. We ate in pizzeria 'Las Luna's (recommended on a different Tripadvisor review, thank you!). Really nice food at an excellent price situated in the nicer part of the town. There's no restaurant in the hotel so you do need to go out. Cheap taxi so really no problem. I'd recommend this restaurant, though, there are others.

Some reviewers complain about noise from other guests. We had little problem. Yes, the floors are wooden and original and while they are beautiful it carries a cost. We could hear footsteps above but not a lot and I'd rather stay in a period hotel with original floors than a faceless and characterless business hotel with perfect new floors. Biggest criticism is breakfast which is sufficient but very basic. No reason to discount this hotel though.

There are a few bad reviews of this hotel and I disagree with them really. Maybe the owners should drop the 4-star tag which gives a false preconception and advertise as a high quality county guest house; which is what it is!

We stayed at this hotel during in July 2012. We booked an offer on a discount site. The hotel is located in the outskirts of a small village, so there's really nothing to do on the spot, but it's a very good starting point for day trips around the region. The hotel is an old refurnished house. The owners tried to thematize the hotel placing several references to witches (hence the name, Spanish "bruja" > "witch"). The rooms are comfortable, although many guests don't respect the no-smoking policy and the smell propagates from one room to another. In fact, rooms are not properly sound-proofed. The floors are wooden, so you can notice people coming back late (when it's all quiet). The first floor has a very comfortable television room, with plenty of sofas and chairs and a good offer of books about the region that you can borrow for free.

The restaurant and the breakfast is on the simple side. Nothing fancy and certainly not 4 stars. But for what it costs it's good enough.

In front of the hotel there is a public playground. If you have kids, you can spend some time there. The hotel itself has a small outdoor pool, but you can use it only on very sunny days, because the water tends to be very cold.

The owners are very kind and try to satisfy all requests. The fact that this hotel advertised on bargain websites with very competitive prices attracted customers well below the ones who usually go to 4-star hotels. So the owners have to deal with all kind of people and I witnessed some unpleasant scenes: young kids wanted to introduce alcohol into the rooms for a late party and the owner had to raise his voice in order to stop them. If you can live with the occasional uneducated guest, the place is worth a visit, especially if you plan to trip around that area by car. All in all, a good place with an excellent quality-price relation.

We arrived, Place appears abandoned, phone the owner who eventually arrives and opens the door, then leaves again.
No internet Wi-Fi, no refreshments, a filthy, unusable pool on a very hot day.
No other guests and no sign of owner all day and night.
The owner arrived in the morning at 09.00 made us a coffee and two pieces of toast.
Asked to be paid and left saying "Just close the door when you leave"
Appalling place, do I reccomend, NO. Do I want a refund, YES.
