The resort is located on highway. Travel in and out is on small skinny road which could be difficult after rain due to the incline of hills. Once in it is beautiful and secluded. Not much close for stores or shopping. Locals only with their storefronts.
The title speak for itself. My friend’s secretary did the booking for her and her husband from Manila for 3 days. She based the booking on the pictures which is truly a come on pic. We were in Bogo City for our HS reunion. Her husband stayed overnight, she asked me and our other friend if we could stay with her for the remaining nights because she’s afraid travelling alone because the place is quite remote. Actually it looks like an unfinished golf course in the morning. Anyway the management should be honest and considerate enough to inform the guest early on how risky, horrible and creepy the way to the place is especially at night. It takes long before you reach the resort from the main road. The road less travelled is the right term because of the risk you will going through before you reached the destination. Waze was a great help. It’s absolutely not a safe trip. No lights along the way (only my friend’s car lights guided us ) too dark , narrow road, no houses all bushes, (we saw houses only when we get nearer to the resort), only one guard in the main gate, The service is bad. And when guests says its bad service hoteliers knew how it is! Breakfast was served late. Too bad the payment is non refundable because you will not like to stay longer in that place, you have no choice but to look for a better and safer place. We checked out on the second day. No refunds, she was even asked to pay for their breakfast which she thought was free with the room booking. It’s a no no if you have children. I don’t think they have a nurse or emergency personnel just in case something bad happen. But if you are adventurous and brave and alone consider the place a hideaway. The room is tolerable, they have a small pool, the beach is ordinary no white sand. The only good thing is a nice view in the morning. To sum it all, never again will i go back to Casa del Mar unless road is developed and service is excellent.…
The location is in the middle of nowhere. The road sucks its 2 miles drive from civilization. When we got there no one was available to help us. The place is almost close for business! So we have to drive another 2 miles to get to another accommodation. Hagnaya Beach Resort Is where you need to be. Not only the facility is clean, the place is secure and they have people working to great you and take care of you.
we were booked for 3 nights excited to arrive there because of the beautiful photos but being just on a road was already alarming whether things could be better or worst when we arrive to the resort. Finally here we were.. expectations versus reality,, the room smelled old, the building itself tells the room could be worst, the bathroom wall is dirty everything in the room is dilapidated just a small old ac unit for a suite room and the pool looks like the water has not been replaced for a longer time water not clear and the pool itself is very small,, the beach is a king i would not take a risk to go swimming which the website photos misrepresent it to a crystal clear water and here comes the dinner the food is overprice with just a cup of rice and an itchy sweet and sour tuna? but it was not a tuna i will not even dare to eat it at home because it is a trigger for an asthmatic like me,,the free breakfast has no choice you have to settle for a small portion of an egg omelet which were served at 9;30 in the morning because at 7 the restaurant is still closed the staff were still in the market... very disappointed and hungry that we decided to check out after two nights and not finishing our booked stay for 3 nights..very disappointing that we deserve for a refund,, i guess they need people to work on an intensive cleaning to make the place hygienic also they need a professional cook to serve their hungry customers the food is not worth as 380 and the worst was there is no service water available .. we will never go back in this place again and i guess all the guest there has the same disappointments we have please stop posting edited photos and mislead the customers..…
We booked 3 nights via booking.com Our flight was delayed and we arrived after midnight. The hotel was completely closed. There was light burning in some rooms but no reception or anything. Only barking dogs. We had to look for another accommodation in the middle of the night. We came back the next day to check because nobody answered our calls and there was only one guy working there. We would have been the only guests, no Restaurant or other services. So we left.
This place is only suitable for someone wanting total peace and isolation and who can put up with limited food and drink. Problem one is getting there. It is about 2km off the main road and the last 800metres or so is an extremely rough track. I was quite worried even in my sturdy SUV. You would certainly not get a tricycle down there and I think most taxi drivers would baulk at it too. On arrival the place seemed deserted. The reception signs pointed to a locked building. I eventually saw a lady walking in the garden, but she completely ignored me and I had to run after her. When I said I wanted to check in she didn’t say a word but ushered me towards the bar/restaurant. Here was a young girl who shuffled through papers as though to find our booking—yet there was only one other of the 36 rooms occupied. Without a word she motioned us to follow her to the room. She opened the door with the key and departed. Not a welcome or anything, but she did get a bot more friendly later in the day). So we entered the very tired looking but spacious room and walked out onto the balcony which I have to say did have a wonderful view. The bar/restaurant is open from 7.00am to 8.00pm. We ordered a pesto pasta dish which arrived almost cold and tried to order a San Miguel but they only had one left. At dinner the food was a little better—I had chicken and chips while my partner had chicken curry. There is no wine on offer so we had a bottle stashed away in our room because there is a corkage charge of Php1000 in the restaurant. The pool, which had looked so inviting in the Hotels.com website was green and uninviting. The beach was little better and I didn’t want to risk a swim. At about 8.30 the place went dead so we retired to our room but on heading to the restroom a couple of hours later found it had somehow locked itself. I tried to find help but everything was locked up. There was no number to call in an emergency and the phone in the room was dead. What a nightmare! At 6.30 am I managed to find the chef who appeared with a large knife and attempted to prize the door open but had to go off and find the maintenance man. He eventually got the door open, but I wonder what he does the rest of the day? The place is falling apart—broken light sockets and switches, jamming doors etc. So even though we had booked three nights we checked out next morning. Breakfast is expensive but edible (where else can you go??). In summary, if you want a bit of chill out time with a few books then you might just be prepared to put up with the shortcomings this place has. The shame is, it was obviously once very nice but has just gone steadily downhill. Hotels.com should be prosecuted for misrepresentation showing photos of the place in its heyday and making comments like “hurry—last available room”. Total lies!…
At one time this place would have been amazing , but now its very run down swimming pools were not kept clean , food was ok menu was limited . We did have a nice room which was clean and quiet . It was quite a ways from the downtown to far to walk .
The resort was 5 hours from anywhere. The resort is for sale There was no food and it was an hour to town but no transportation to get there. I booked a week and stayed 2 nights I was hungry. The pool was not in operation. It took over an hour and a half for them to find my reservation. We were the only people there. I would not recommend it to my enemy. It should be removed from your site
I went to this place with a friend in June 2017 and it was a nightmare for us. The road was extremely hard to find. We reached the place at night, Staff did not expect to see us. We went for a bathroom and it was all filthy like they did not clean it for many years. We had a look at the beach. It was covered with rocks and algea and it was impossible to swim. We read TripAdvisor reviews and found out that some of their guests had similar situation, thus we decided not to spend night there. The next day we came back to Mactan city. This place should not be advertised on TripAdvisor or Booking.com.
After what I would say is a stunning ride through the rolling hills of San Remegio you arrive at one of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen in my life. Though the place has been around for a while I quite enjoyed the rustic setting. The ocean view bar catches great breezes all day and is a great place to beat the heat, sit to enjoy an ice cold drink and have a chat with the new manager Roger. The night we were there Roger had invited a chef friend of his to prepare a special meal that was outstanding. Though this may not be a new hotel and does need a little cosmetic work in some places, for the price and location, it's a winner. Really comfortable beds, well kitted out bathrooms and ice cold air con. Great spot for a getaway.
