Detailed Reviews
Stayed at this property from November 03 - 09, 2014:
Having read all these reviews before I was hoping to meet the foreign manager myself when there, but I was told that he was gone again. What a pity because this place urgently cries for proper management!
Yes, the place is still not fully repaired after Typhoon Yolanda. Therefore a lot of things need to be repaired and exchanged. But somehow nothing happened while I was there. I was even the only guest on a few days, but still no renovation work was to be observed.
The accommodation could be nice, but especially the bathroom was terrible. It urgently needs proper cleaning, new appliances and a good vermin killer for the cockroaches!
The beach is white, but full of coralls and stones. Not good for swimming at all.
The Golf Course was deserted and I did not see once anyone playing. Only goats and cows eating the grass.
Food & Beverage was OK as long as you dont expect anything fancy. It is a type of home cooking, but it was nice that they served the food on my terrace every day. No reason to go to the boring Bar/Restaurant. A setback was that they had two bottles of Red Wine only in the resort. Not even one bottle of white wine....
However, I was looking for peace and tranquility and this is what I got. Not less and not more.
But I would certainly not return to this property!

A beautiful place on a white sand beach. Currently it is being upgraded and repaired after Yolanda. My wife and I spent a enjoyable overnight stay. Snacking and relaxing while enjoying a most scenic ocean view we passed the afternoon. The water was clean and most inviting. Dinner was delicious. The room was big with a/c and video entertainment. The bedding was not to my liking but I slept ok. Breakfast was served at 7am and it was terrific. Now be advised the Casa needs more work. It is off the main road and and takes time to reach but is a swell place to relax. The staff is working hard to get more things in place entertainment wise so be advised. I plan to return in the near future to see if the on going upgrades are in place.

We went here for a family outing. Reading the recent reviews and pictures posted, we were excited to book in this resort. Upon arriving in the place, we noticed that it was too far away from the main road. But we kept on because we believed at that time that it might be worth the trip. Upon arriving, we were welcomed by Ding and Maymay. They were friendly and courteous. We looked around the place so that we may appreciate what was posted on the website. It was really different from what we saw in the pictures. It was not the beach resort that we pictured it to be. Also, when we went to our assigned room, a lot of thinks were not working. The toilet bowl, the lights... even our front and balcony door doesn't close. This added to our disappointment. Not only did we not get what we hoped for, but I think we realized that it was a mistake to have booked here. Prior to that, in booking.com, if we were to cancel our booking in this place even if it was long before the trip to this place, we needed to pay the whole stay when it says there before we booked that cancellation of booking is free. But I still didn't want to be totally negative at that time. I still want to give it a different thought. So we continued on, since we have no choice but to stay. What we did was to plan to go to Bantayan Island just to fend off the the situation. But when we requested for the habal habal ( the local motorcycle ride )which was provided for us, and I requested if I can drive my family so that we can enjoy the ride together and the other driver to ride with the other motorcycle, the other driver said no right away. It was so frustrating because they let me borrow another motorcycle the day before and everything went well. And to think that the other guy who said no was the husband of the person in charge there. The ride wasn't even free and was overcharged and yet they won't agree to a simple request? This just blew off everything. I may be a stranger in that place but I know how to handle motorcycles, let alone, others. So, I told my wife that we will stay in Bantayan Island from that afternoon until the next. Also, when we went back to the hotel from Bantayan, we tried contacting the numbers on the website but nobody was answering. This made us walk from the gate of the resort to the resort itself which was a mile or so. Imagine, we have a 5 year old kid with us at that time. It was another frustrating experience for us. It was supposed to be an enjoyable vacation but it turned out to be a nightmare. No free transportation. Food is so overpriced in the resort. The beach wasn't suitable to swim to. Requests were rejected right away. The only consolation that we had was Kuya William who was really nice to us when we were about to check out in the resort. At least there was still a concerned person in the place. He transported us via his motorcycle to the gate of the hotel via 2 rides. Overall, we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
This was on personal experience. No harm intended. Just want people to know what happened to me and my family here. We, definitely, will not go back to this place ever.

We are very sorry for your inconvenient stay and the misunderstandings that obviously had taken place. We have now updated all our pictures so every/most details can be realised before entry. The resort is more suitable for guests with a car, sorry for that, we try inform guests in advance. Borrow motor bicycles for free from local people is also not recommended. We are sorry for all our shortcomings and hope the room rates reflect the level of service that is provided.

Where do I start booked a room 1 double bed and 2 single
I knew it was low season and we were the only guests staying but....
They didn't expect us on arrival very poor service.... had to call office in Cebu very bad exchange rate - Oh becareful take lots of cash as they don't take anything else
room- 1 double and 2 sofa beds - not in the write up!- bedside lights didn't work as the plugs don't fit the sockets! 3 people staying only 2 towels!
mini bar only 5 bottles of water!
No cable TV it wasn't working so they gave us some DVDs
the korean restaurant told us to go to the other restaurant when I asked for a menu .. never asked if we liked Korean food! the other restaurant we where told sorry low season not much choice of food -corned beef hash with rice or pasta ! . when I asked about breakfast they said corned beef hash! drinks- beer coke water powered fruit juice thats all! talk about giving people a choice when I complained they said you can always go into town - 650 pesos each way!!!!! asked to speak to the manager - sorry she is in cebu (about 3hrs drive away) and office is closed during the 2 days I asked lots of times to speak to her only after I paid the bill before leaving I managed to speak to her and she couldn't hear me on her mobile! I txt her but she has never replied but I overheard one of the staff on the phone after saying yes he has paid!
we had pasta it was tasteless and the French fries white hard and very greasy infact all the food was greasy
Breakfast they managed to make an omelete the filling wasn't what I ordered but" hey its low season"
Service improved a little after I gave them my business card I'm a director of food and beverage !
The resort is small beach it OK water clear and warm
when leaving asked of a car to take us 2500 pesos for the taxi not so bad .... but the taxi driver had to give them 800 pesos out of that to the hotel rip off for him
I could go on.....what ever happened to customer service .... if anyone wants to see how a hotel should not be run then go and stay I've been in the hotel business for over 30 yrs worst place I have stayed I don't normally write bad reviews I vote with my feet as in never going back if its bad but I had to write one for this place
I would suggest that the Manager should spend more time training the staff and be there
the staff told us they only had 5 rooms in the last month no wonder

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, things have changed overhere. We are working on the resort every day. Since August 1st there is a new German Management taking care. Me and my wife are experts in hospitality, good food and wines. We try to give you a family atmosphere and do our best to bring this place up again, where it belongs. Come and see our unique beautiful beach or play golf on one of the most exciting courses in the Philippines. Breathtaking Views to the Sea included. Also perfect for beginners. We are working on the release of a new homepage and we will offer new programs, like sailing and golf, wine tests, island hopping and more. Test us out.... You are perfectly welcome.

Stayed here with family for an overnight stay Nov 29-30,2015 to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We booked the hotel from booking.com. When we arrived at around 8 pm, there seemed to be nobody around and the whole place was dimly lighted. It looked so surreal. Finally, somebody came forward ( the caretaker) and he was surprised to see us. He made some phone calls to somebody in the city who was supposed to be in charge of taking the bookings. That somebody was also surprised to find out we booked a stay at the resort because SHE HAS NOT BEEN CHECKING THE BOOKINGS of late. They wanted us to pay cash right away but I refused as we already paid fully by credit card online. Since it was nearly 9 pm by then, the caretaker finally led us to our rooms.
The rooms were big and they were nicely decorated but they had seen better days. Some of the overhead lights were not working. The sheets were clean though but the rooms have not been aired of late and smelled musty and unused. We opened the doors to allow fresh air in. We ordered some snacks, but they seemed to be out of everything. It looked like there were only 2 staff members on site. Finally, they made us some spaghetti as it was the only food that they could whip up that night. It seemed as if we were the only guests checked in!
In the middle of the night, the caretaker woke us up because the person in charge of booking has been calling because our debit card was not honored by the bank as she had just then checked the booking! I said " what debit card? It was a credit card!!" " Oh," she said. " Thats why it starts with the number 5.. " I couldn't believe a person in charge of booking would process the booking only after the guests have arrived and didn't know a credit card from a debit card. Of course the transaction went through after that but our sleep had been interrupted already.
In the morning, more staff arrived ( I saw a gardener and a waitress) . They were all very helpful over breakfast and were very nice and apologetic about the miscommunication on the part of their booking person the night before.
The place looked beautiful but forlorn under the morning light. I could see what a grand dame this place must have been once upon a time. The beach was nice-- white sand and all. The swimming pool was filthy. They served serviceable but expensive breakfast ( p2000 pesos for a breakfast of 4 - -- one order each of beef and sausage, and 2 orders of meat tapa plus coffee and juice).
If you want solitude and you don't mind the lack of amenities, then this is probably the place for you. Just make sure your booking goes through alright and try to call beforehand ( but wait, I DID call beforehand but nobody was answering the phone!). And don't arrive there at night like we did. The place is ISOLATED and takes time to get to from the main highway. We asked a motorcycle driver from the town proper (paid him p100 for the service) to drive in front of us to get to the place. The way there is DARK as in pitch dark with many twists and turns because you pass through the erstwhile golf course but of course we didn't know it that evening. It just felt like a drive to nowhere. The drive out the next morning was pleasant though as we took in the vista around us.
I think the people at the resort should update their Internet pages and state exactly what guests can expect at the resort or they could be liable for false advertisement. There are no more polo horses, the golf course needed up keeping, heck the whole place needs up keeping rather badly, there are no massages, not even enough food and drinks if you arrive late. There are no lights to guide your way along that loooong and meandering road to the hotel. The booking person is not doing her job. The caretaker, waitress, and cook though are very pleasant people and did try to make our stay as comfortable as they could under the very strait circumstances they are in. If not for them, I would have given this place a negative rating.
Needless to say, we left early the next day after breakfast at around 8 a.m.
I would have liked to see this place in all it's glory-- or even half its glory. The facade is charming and graceful. Privacy is at it's utmost though I wouldn't mind having a security person in place especially at night. As it was, it felt like being in the right place at the wrong time and it was unsettling, to say the least.

Bookings the night before or same day are not managed correctly. They need notice a day or 2 before arrival. We will terminate late bookings, sorry for the inconvenience. Polo and Golf has been closed since the Yolanda Typhoon in 2013 and we have tried to change all web sites, sorry again.

Dont go there. Dont be fooled by the pictures. The website hasnt been upgraded for so long. The place is dilapidated and so far off the main road. You would need to pass by a roller coaster road to reach the hotel. I do not recommend this place.

We booked for 2nights stay (stayed1night) at booking page which showed beautiful, serene property with white sand front beach and inviting pool pictures and encouraging reviews. The rate was advertised as being a great deal!
Oh boy,was I/we ever in shock & dissappointed! After 3hrs of driving from the city of Cebu, what greeted us was a creepy, rundown property which was located at the end of an old golfcourse that was in the middle of nowhere!! The description of the hotel was far deceiving in the booking website. It did not even give directions that you have to drive thru what used to be an old golf course to reach the place. The bldg. badly needs major repairs,I don't even know what's in the pool, whitesand but rocky beach, not good for swimming. The rooms have musty odours, furnitures have seen better days.Dont expect 4star ammenities,Overpriced food menu And becareful not to step on centipides thats the size of a ruler,6inches long!!.The only consolation we had were the 2staff,Ding&Maymay,that looked after us & the one guard.I suggest that you booked elsewhere and enjoy yourself somewhere. This property is one HORROR PLACE THAT I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING NOR BE WILLING TO GO BACK.It is a shame & disgrace for management to continue to promote its long, past heyday & post old pictures when clearly they should closedown and renovate to deliver what they promise on their website description. PLS.pls.pls.STOP DECEIVING FUTURE GUEST. SHAME ON MANAGEMENT for continuing to do so.
Pictures of property from the beach during low tide. Looks deceiving until you go near it. Sad.

I did not even bother to continue with my stay as there's nothing in this place worth staying for. The pictures in your site are very outdated, this resort should not be in your site at all. They don't care about their customer, the resort is just an abandoned place with no maintenance and no security. The room we were in has a very bad smell and the pool is unusable due to so much dirt. It's like it's never been cleaned for years. The access road to the hotel is very dangerous. The road is so narrow and so bad it can damage your car due to some broken pavements with the steel rods all over the place. There's a chance your car will get stuck. Please have this remove as the owner obviously does not care for the customers.

The photos posted in their website were taken before the Yolanda super typhoon which also hit the north part of Cebu including San Remigio. The resort suffered damages and the repair is very very slow. The dive center is destroyed. The horses you see in the website are not there anymore. They transported them in a safe place.
Damaged cable TV. Room phone is not working. The beach is not maintained any more and the place is poorly staffed (although friendly). Despite the degraded change, they still maintained their rate (which is actually expensive compared to other resorts in San Remigio)!!
They should have lowered their rates based on their current situation or better yet closed their hotel for renovation rather than continue accepting guests and getting bad reviews....
