Detailed Reviews
The resort is developed with nature in mind. It is a nice place to just chill and relax'. There are many trees around with benches positioned underneath some, and near the cliffs for a good view of the sea and to breath fresh air. The ground is generally covered with bermudagrass. We stayed in a family villa just a few steps from the infinity pool, and also near the sandy beach front of about 100 meters length. You can watch the sunrise or sunset from some of the benches facing the sea. During our 2-days short stay, the pool was open only at 7am. Personally, I prefer it opened earlier, say at 6am so I could do my knee strengthening exercise of walking in the pool much earlier. Our room had two queen beds and one twin bed. The beds have nice firm mattresses, but the pillows were uncomfortably hard. The bathroom has no exhaust fan. Instead, it has a small overhead window (about 9 x 18 inches) which is always kept open, and it had no screen, so it is a good entrance for mosquitoes and other small insects, which unfortunately we noticed during our brief stay. The shower area had a curtain up to the floor, but it could not prevent the floor on the other side of the curtain from getting wet because the floor on both sides of the shower curtain are on the same level, with only a slight slope away provided on the shower area. The ala carte food choices in the restaurant were good, however, on our second day, the ala carte was not available because they were offering only buffet breakfast and for a fixed price. This made the guests hostage to whatever food was available and to its price. And to think that there is nowhere else to have food in the area, because of the secluded location of the resort. On the positive side, since there seems to be a dearth of information available for the resort, the room is provided with towels, toiletries, kettle, hair drier, slippers, umbrella and an emergency flashlight. Available was a small ref but serves only to cool the complimentary water that is provided. There is also welcome coffee in sachets. The staff were very nice and accommodating. However the resort has a policy of no bringing of food inside. Actually I don't find this policy guest friendly. I have been to quite a few resorts and hotels around the world and I don't remember any implementing this policy. However, overall, the staff and the location are very positive for the resort.

Maayo San Remegio is the best relaxing place in northern Cebu. Infinity pool with changing sunset colors matched with hospitable staff can deffo make your trip worth the hours drive. Considering the limited operations post pandemic, the place will never fail to give you a satisfying stay. Its resort is wide open that you would always feel safe and not crumped up compared to what we have in the city. Its price is affordable that its worth any penny spent. Looking forward for my next visit.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Everyone was super helpful (front desk, resto, security, housekeeping and lifeguard). We’ve had a few issues with our room such as the safe not working and AC not cooling. They resolved it promptly even if it was after hours. We were in a villa overlooking the ocean - and I would highly recommend this over the regular room! The villa is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with high and filipino inspired ceilings. The most important factor for me is a clean bathroom with dry floors and no mold and maayo certainly met that! The infinity pool was amazing and the swing area very airy and relaxing. We had a great time having breakfast at the restaurant and Jonathan, our server, took really hood care of us and suggested various items that we should try. We felt like we were getting such personalized service and very appreciative of the experience that we were getting. My son who hasn’t been to the Philippines in a long time was very impressed that he wished we stayed in this hotel the entire duration of our trip! We are very thankful and highly recommend maayo san rem!

Breaded pork was hard and chicken was dry and still has poultry smell.
500 pesos for dinner buffet was a waste of money, you can buy those foods on a carenderia. 250 pesos breakfast buffet and you only get choco, coffee, tocino, egg, eggplant and baked bangus with free fishbone. No milk and cereals for kids, no filipino delicacies. Not sure why they call there resort "Maayo".
Durhans have better choices of foods, plus there breakfast buffet is free.
And the modular rooms is very noisy, you can hear footsteps from the 2nd floor.

Check in Feb 16, out Feb 18. resort recently reopened, but obvious no maintenance during shut down. Room was dirty to include sand in the bedsheets. Turnbuckles outside room (for building stability?) rattled all night so little sleep. Mold on front door not addressed. Plaster? falling from wall in room. No soundproofing resulted in upstairs guest keeping us awake all night. Resort is pet friendly to include restaurant and pool areas. Bark Bark.
Lunch at restaurant first day was a disaster. Breaded pork chops were not fully cooked and meat was tainted. Fried chicken was hard on outside and not cooked inside. Dinner was no better, Sweet and sour pork was mostly fat. Club house sandwich was with chicken. Asked to sub ham was told not available. Switched to bacon and egg sandwich. Wife asked waitress twice if mayonnaise was sweet. When she was told yes she requested (twice) don't put anything, only the bacon and egg. Sandwich came with sauce and could not be eaten. Buffet breakfast is 500 pesos which includes rice, tocino, scrambled eggs and pineapple and watermelon. Will not stay there again and do not recommend

I was able to enjoy my stay because everything was just beautiful. I loved how the staff of the resort greet you every time you pass by them. A simple gesture yet important for me. Safety protocols were even followed which is very important in this COVID-19 Pandemic. Rooms are very cozy. Will I be visiting again? Definitely!

Our stay was peaceful and fun. We got to enjoy the place because it was not crowded especially on weekdays. The place is clean and relaxing. I love the rooms because it is big and nice. The staff were all accomodating. The view is special. There are so many nice spots where you can take a lot of pictures. Overall it was worth it.

Been here on December 2023 with my family. Room is fine and clean but no rugs to dust our feet. Food is bit pricey for breakfast buffet but nothing special but the service is top-notch. What we like is the staff which is accommodating and we feel valued. From front desk to poolside bar bartender and resto server. Our son forget his teddy at the room where we checked in and we noticed it when we already arrived home. That teddy has sentimental value to us especially to our son and don't know how we could retrieve it because the resort was too far from where we reside and checking some LBC branches are too far as well from the area. Good thing they sent it to Mandaue Maayo hotel and we are so happy when we got it back and picking it there. We surely get back in there and some other of their branches. What we love in the resort is the silence and serinity of the area specially night time. We have a perfect me time alone with my husband watching the beach from the cliff during night time.

If you’re coming with friends, get the barkada room. I like the area in front of the room. It feels exclusive and the expansive garden and sea view right outside feels like I have my own unrestricted space.
Visited with friends to relax and was surprisingly able to balance work and relaxation. Internet access was great but inside the room was weak. I hope they fixed that part already. Would definitely come back - am actually here again for another visit now.

Overall, it was a nice choice. But if I may suggest, they should add more choices on their breakfast buffet. They only had coffee/tea/water. It would be better if there’s juice for non-coffee drinkers. Also, cereals and a bread toaster would be a great addition. As for the room, love the space but comfort room should have a proper ventilation. We tried opening the window for a while but then, there were lots of mosquitos. Still, we enjoyed our stay as staffs are very accommodating.
