I was surprised when I finally arrived at the Blue Jazz Resort, first I was pointed by a guard to walk in the direction of the water to check in. I wandered about looking for the front desk, When I found it they told me my room did not have aircon. Well its OK but I did not see it on Hotels.com when I booked it. There was a fan so we were OK, room was only for sleeping anyway :) The shower in the room was cold water only, and there was no curtain or place to put your towel or toiletries. But for $50 buck a night who cares right? We were starving so we went to the restaurant and ordered a sandwich, and another entree. I asked for Iced tea and was told they were out. so I ordered bottled water. The food took almost 40 minutes to arrive, crazy long wait then we had to wait another 15 min to get the check. Later that night we went for dinner and ordered a pizza and some other items. "no pizza tonight, electrical problem" OK we ordered something else- after 45 min of waiting I complained , they apologized and gave us a free smoothie which was a nice touch but still come on . The excuse I got was "the girl that makes the sandwiches was on her lunch break so they had to wait for her to come back" OMG you have to be kidding me. The next morning we went for our breakfast and the manager saw me and our food arrived within 15 min. But when I asked for the check we waited for 20 min before I just walked up to pay at the bar. I should have just walked out.

The beach was not super clean but the pool was ok and music was nice. The slides were fairly well maintained. The place is nicely laid out but its sad that the customer service is so bad. I only met one employee that was very nice.

When we checked out, they had to go check our room and that took about 20 min,

Will not go back here!

It feels sad when I place like this are so bad. I could be so much better. Price is high. No value for your money.
Staff not interested even try give a little service. Only important here is get your money. But without a smile.

Nice pool. And room is ok. Not much more than okay.
They don't allow you bring soft drinks inside. Because their price is double as in a store.

Food is nothing special. Cold rice. Very slow service.

No I will never go back again. You can find better resorts for half price at Samal

The infinity pool was closed during our entire stay. There is NO wifi or ethernet connection in our room. We were told that the wifi by the bar/restaurant is strong, but only to find out that it wasn't working at all on the first 24 hours of our stay. On the next 24 hours, the bar wifi was hit and miss. There was no soap to wash our hands with. They were probably expecting us to bring our own. They provided coffee but not something to stir it with. The advertised entertainment was nonexistent. There was no local band playing music. Neither was there fire dance. We wanted to snorkel near the beach but only to be told there is nothing to see. We would have to go far out if we want to snorkel.

There is no room phone. In lieu of the phone, an intercom was provided to call the reception or housekeeping. But the intercom wasn't working. When we asked the staff about this, we were told that the intercom uses wifi in order to work. Since there was no wifi signal in our room, there was no working intercom. Since there was no intercom, I had to walk 5 min each way, in the middle of the dead night and in a scary dark alley, to the reception just to ask for a bar soap. Walking is pretty much what we did whenever we needed something, like asking for a coffee stirrer, changing our wet towels, getting the flooded bathrooms drained, etc.

Food service is not up to world class standard. Some/most foods in the menu are either not available or out of stock. Wait time (between order and serving) is painfully long. The best time we experienced is about 30 minutes.

On our second and last night, our next door neighbors were having a drinking party, unmindful of other people in the same building and the ones nearby. Their loud, boisterous partying woke us up many times. We wanted to complain but couldn't since the intercom was not working and since we didn't want to get out of our room and walk at night to the reception. We were wondering if the security guards were supposed to stop them or if such a disruptive activity is allowed in the resort premises.

Bluejaz is a big let down. It did not live up to its online advertisement. It's not worth the money. I would not recommend this beach resort to anyone who wants to relax and unwind. The only upside in this stay is the resort's slides that my family liked so much.

So, we came there with family hoping to have fun and paid 3 rooms in total but no one told us that their infinity pool and bar was closed for renovation until we got there. We were told we could have free use of giant slide in return for the inconvenience or mis-information. Not until we were about to use the slide and we were told we don't have free one. Not just that at all, the rooms smells extremely strong with old urine! Ewwww...!!! Bathrooms were soooo dirty that you don't wanna touch (pictures attached). Oh yeah, before I forget, their slide that they are posting in their site, the one by the beach doesn't work either. Not good at all!!! The management wasn't helpful and was very rude! I would never recommend the place, it was a waste of time and money. We will never be back here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is severely overrated. At least, it is now. Word is there were some issues and the property was divided and one section was closed off, and that section of the resort was the better part. It is poorly maintained and really left a bad taste in my mouth. I am by no means a fussy person, but this place should not be called a ‘resort’. The photos look WAY better than it does in real life. There were bugs and mosquitoes in our room, calcified taps, no mirror, and there was a giant cockroach in the bathroom! The sheets had a stain on it. We ate outside our room (they propped some tables and chairs) and there were TWO flying cockroaches hanging around.

The two positives I can think of is the beach and the staff. There were friendly and helpful, and they really did the best they could. I would tack this poor rating on the management and ownership.

I would not recommend this place. Find another place if you can afford it! It was pretty disgusting and we couldn’t wait to get out of there.

I recently stayed at the Bluejaz Resort (Jan. 20-22, 2012) with my fiance from Davao and four children. I am a very discriminating man from the USA who has traveled extensively, and am a bit of a "clean freak". And I'd like to add that I am not associated with the Bluejaz Resort in any way, and I stand to gain nothing by my comment here.

I was apprehensive about staying there after reading some of the negative comments on here, but WOW! I was more than pleasantly surprised!

We stayed in one of the Fiji style cottages. The cleanliness of our room, the pool, the beach, and the rest of the resort was excellent. The whole setting was absolutely gorgeous, especially with the pool overlooking the beautiful sand beach and the sea. We ate all of our meals there, and every bit of the food was delightful. The firedancers in the evenings were very entertaining, and both they and the live bands added a great deal to the romantic atmosphere.

But I was most impressed with the quality of service! The staff there are the most genuinely warm, welcoming, courteous, respectful, friendly, attentive, accommodating, eager-to-please, beautiful young men and women I have ever experienced anywhere! We were met with a big, sincere smile and warm greeting from each of them at every turn. And in particular, the girls at the reception desk were amazingly astute and competent.

All around, our stay there was the best vacation experience I have ever had, our kids just loved it, and on my next trip there I won't even consider staying anywhere else. To me, the Bluejaz Resort was like a slice of heaven. I highly recommend it to anyone.

This place is horrible.
We booked a room at the office located by the pier from where the boat picked us up, once arrived they told us that room was not available and we had to take the more expensive one. I can't imagine what it would have been like to have the cheaper one...
The room is plain and full of mosquitoes, hygene is very low. The bathroom is full of mold and the shower is simply disgusting. The photos on the website are from more than 10 years ago when the decline started. Buildings in ruin... this place should be closed down.

Avoid the plague, go somewhere else. Small pool usually packed with kids. Lifegaurd DOES NOT like whites and will try to embarass you by constantly popping off. You can never be right. Finally gave him the finger and he shut up, but really? Overpriced food is pathetic. Our order was wrong.
The last Bluejaz ferry leaves at 3pm. They won't tell you but hope you miss it and buy a room. We hired motorcycles and drove to the island ferry.
