We stopped at the Abbey Hotel while en route Cork to Tralee. My wife didn’t take to the hotel’s exterior and lobby and was a slightly reluctant diner given we appeared to be the only customers. However we were shortly joined by another dozen people and the atmosphere improved with cheery interaction between the owner(?) and customers. Our food was really nice. I had a roast beef dinner and the meat was melt in the mouth delicious. I couldn’t resist the homemade apple pie with whipped cream and ice cream plus the custard the owner rustled up just for me. I suspect the food won’t win a Michelin star but it will win hearts and stomachs. Delicious home cooking.

No problems here for our 4 night stay. Excellent room, with good housekeeping. Breakfast and dinner was above our expectations considering the little we paid for the stay (bus party rates)
The proprietors and staff could not do enough to make our stay memorable and we would return here without hesitation.

Nice and clean 3* Hotel along the main Cork -Killarney road. We as a family stayed there for 4 nights, the breakfast and Dinner was brilliant, all home made fresh ingredients, They sell home baking as well to take away which is of old world high quality. The staff are all mostly family and we’re to friendly and helpful. Old School hospitality high end. And great value for Money also.

Dtayed there on business last September. Basic enough rooms in a hotel which could do with some investment. That said very good price for b&b. Service friendy and food ok in bar and at breakfast. Seems to survive on coach trips. Off street parking is tight due to coaches.

We stopped here for food while travelling from Cork city to Kenmare. They have a lovely outdoor marquee and bench area. Service was excellent and the food was second to none. Everything was hot, tasty and the presentation was just beautiful; food I would expect from a 5 star restaurant or wedding venue. Price was also very reasonable.
We will absolutely return here when we are next passing.

Stayed at this lovely hotel as part of a coach party. The room was lovely, a bit dated but spotless clean. Bed was comfy and the shower was perfect. My tv didn't work but when I mentioned it to the manager he fixed it immediately, just needed tuning. The food was lovely, even enjoyed my morning coffee! Sometimes on a coach tour the food and coffee standards are that great but couldn't fault it. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Much nicer than I expected (stayed there as part of an Alfa coach tour) the room was a little dated but very spacious and comfortable. Great shower, plenty of storage space and comfortable bed. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice and evening meal had a choice of two starters, two main courses and two desserts. All food was good quality and plentiful. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and very welcoming. It was great value for money.

I am a regular customer to the Abbey. It never disappoints. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. The food is outstanding with decent size portions. Everything on the menu is delicious. The Thai green curry is a recent addition to the menu and it is divine. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here on a coach trip. Its a fab little hotel with a fair bit to offer. Lovely staff the friendliest has to be the male bartender on the Monday and Tuesday evening. He was warm and welcoming to all those who were staying. The girls are fab and deal with requests promptly. The rooms are cleaned daily which is an absolute bonus. The food is divine. I liked the live music on an evening and even got the chance to try out the set dancing, which I was terrible at but a great experience.
