Detailed Reviews
Located along Agoncillo Road in Laurel, Batangas. About 2.5 hours drive from Taguig City via C5-SLEX- Tanauan Toll Exit. Calinisan Resort Hotel offers relaxation with Taal Volcano as backdrop. They have 2 big pools with kiddie pools , rooms and cottages for day tours. Rates were very affordable. Staff were courteous and ready to help out. They have a small store near the cottages which offers noodles, softdrinks, coffee, snacks, charcoal and others. But when i asked for shirts (since my shirt git ripped off a bit), they dont have any. Instead they offered a rashguard which i dont intend to buy of course. Videoke rental is 1500. Volleyball is available for 200 per hour, however, the court is of sharp irregular gravel/stones which makes playing quite difficult. Swimming at Taal Lake is prohibited since according to them it is a really deep area (fishing boats is a regular find here). All in all our experience is good. But the place can still be improved.

The 2 villas were good with mabango pillows clean beddings and towels. Pools were clean but seems maamoy kc Amoy popo ng baboy. The water in shower in the bathroom seems with foul smell. Pagdating namin paglabas ng Villa amoy patay na isda from the lake. Food served during dinner is not masarap, Not recommendable. HIndi kami nagbaon kc mahal ang corkage. Breakfast not good also late served at 8:00 late din open Ang pool at 8:00 AM. We checked out early para makalunch outside.

i first visited around two years ago, i loved it. So i came back for a short one daybreak, how things have changed. Ordered food for lunch it took nearly two hours to arrive, then breakfast was ordered the night before have to pay extra for hotdog and rice, for breakfast no orange juice or fresh milk for coffee. To add to this we were continually brushing off the flies from our food. Who ever is running this place needs to look at their F&B management. As everything else is not bad room, swimming pool are good.

My boyfriend and I visited this resort July 12-13, 2014.... and yes, we availed metrodeal promo of 2,399.00 with free breakfast and 1kl of fresh Tilapia... we went there thru commute (we took bus going to TANAUAN then get off at tanauan bus stop then rode tricycle going to jeepney station,we rode a jeep going to Laurel then we got off to Laurel Municipal hall and another tricycle ride going to resort..... yep... it is quite far.. about 3-4hrs drive to sum it up)...
Upon our arrival, a friendly guard greeted us and assist us to information/manager's office (i really appreciated his kindness for the fact that we are tired of commuting)... after i filled up check in form, we headed to our room (ROOM3, standard pool side room)... only 1 family checked in that time so we almost "own" the place... the STANDARD ROOM has queen sized bed, tv with cable, small ref, hot and cold shower/toilet and bath with 2 towels and tissue (no toilettries)
For detailed POSITIVE and NEGATIVE feedback:
NEGATIVE:
- Location is quite far.
- Beach is dirty... you're not allowed to swim there even to just dip your feet... (unless you are one brave soul) haha
- place is very dark at night (maybe they didn't bother lighting up the place because we didn't do night swim
-Food is quite expensive (e.g. HAMSILOG, TAPSILOG etc costs php 200.00 per serving... maybe because there is no restaurant or any stores near them... you know... Law of Supply and Demand ^_^)
POSITIVE:
- staffs (from guard and maintenance up to manager) are very friendly, helpful... special mention ATE JOY for assisting our needs for the whole stay...
- they allow bringing of food inside
- standard room is spacious with good airconditioned unit (new AC)
- very peaceful and relaxing!
- clean and nice swimming pool
- nice fish pond of tilapia and koi fishes
- Luscious garden of trees and plants perfect for fresh producing fresh air.
- sumptuous PINAPUTOK NA TILAPIA, this is a MUST TRY dish!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay there.

Location was quietly a challenge, but everything was worth the effort. Kids enjoyed fishing that they did it twice. Really a quite place to stay. Food are costly, but guest are allowed to bring in. Staff are highly accommodating that we fell we are just friends and not a guest. Will definitely go back...

I was excited to return to our country, Philippines, after almost 3 decades.
My husband (not a filipino) was reluctant to visit.
I proudly showed him this beach resort's website with very attractive views and rooms, it helped convinced him to come with me and visit.
I booked a family room with pool view for my mother and siblings and paid extra $ for a room with lake view for me and my husband. I booked for 4 days.
We didn't have any issue about the family room.
It was when the woman caretaker led me and my husband to the second floor room #7 when we felt very disappointed. As the room's door opened, the room felt cold and uninviting. There was a big closet that was blocking one of the french door. The head of the bed was on the right side of the big closet, bed sheets did not look clean and fresh.
There was no lake view. All you can see are trees and the tip of a mountain.
I immediately told the woman caretaker that the room did not appear to be the same as the picture on its website. She shrugged her shoulders, smiled and did not say a word. I interpreted her action to be "Too bad, too late, I don't care".
When she left, I used the toilet which was across the big closet. The toilet tap water was disgustingly black then brown. I have to run it until it turned clear.
The room did not have the kettle, slippers that the website stated they offer.
There was only 1 thin roll of toilet paper. If you do not ask, no one cares to give.
We were hungry and ordered food. After almost 2 hours food arrived. The nilagang pork was bland. Tasted like water which was just poured over pork and vegetable.
The following day, I noticed that there is a cottage (#1) that has the full view of the lake, fishing boats, mountains. It was beautifully located at the beach. I asked the woman caretaker if my husband and I can move in to it as it seemed empty.
She said that it was already reserved by other people.
I watched the next few days, I learned to know who are the staff and who are the visitor which are mostly locals. I believed that the people that she said had reserved the cottage are the staff. They go in and out of that cottage, watching TV. One of them who became comfortable with me said that they go to this cottage to watch TV and if they want to cool off in a air conditioned room.
It's embarasing to my husband, my family who are very excited to stay in a beach resort.
This beach resort should not be called beach. Its MISLEADING. There is no clean part of the beach that people can swim, let alone wet one's foot. It was a dirty beach.
This beach resort has nothing to offer - not even a drink. They do not even have beer. I have to ask my brother, who asked and paid staff to buy us beers from outside.
I lied down on that bed for 4 nights staring at the toilet which was the view from the bed. NOT FAIR!
Majority of staff are friendly, but service is really very poor.
Never again!

the probem here is their name.. they call it beach resort when it doesn't have any beach. I just think that it's misleading.. anyways, ilove their rooms.. it has its own ref and water heater. The room rate comes with breakfast with only a choice between hotsilog and longsilog...i love how spacious the resort is.. the staff were so nice and very accomodating. Pets are allowed and there were so many cats. i just hate the location..The lake though was dirty and the pool was not that clean. The food was pricey and not so good but they would do everything to please their customers. They would even go out and buy anything you requested. Just an average resort. It needs a lot of improvement.

Admittedly we made a late booking through the internet but the staff were unaware of it and could find no notification of the booking. Therefore the room was not ready. Luckily we had copy of email confirmation and receipt for full payment to hand. While we waited, staff struggled to find the wifi password and when they finally did the wifi was useless. Globe signal here is very poor so you cannot access emails easily from your phone. When the room was ready they had failed to put toilet tissue in the bathroom or any of the other toiletries like soap. Those did arrive the next morning upon request however. We tried to order dinner but most things were 'out of stock', breakfast arrived in the room (as had dinner) without any prior warning. Pool did not open until 9am although they forgot to open until 9:20am and then failed to put on the pumps for the water slide until asked to. Main pool was very cloudy. Beach had not been cleaned and presence of used sanitary towels in the water was very off-putting. Karaoke playing will ensure you do not have a quiet stay and that continues until at least 10pm at night. Staff were usually invisible and it was impossible to order any pool side drinks. A real shame really as basically it is a nice place. With staff that took pride in their jobs and maybe a management presence, this could be a real find. For now, I would say - drive on by.
