We had a great vacation! The Westin Hapuna is a beautiful resort. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beach and pools. We also took family photos with Blinnk. Lisa was super easy to work with, and she got some great shots of our teens, which is not easy to do! We hope to come back soon!
Stayed here for seven nights for business conference. Beautiful hotel! Room was spacious and clean. Good-sized walk-in shower. Spent the first two days at the adult pool, then moved to the beach and family pool. Chairs and umbrellas provided on the beach, and that was probably my favorite place to spend the day. The water is so clear!! Attentive bar service by the pools, but wish they had bar service on the beach. Had breakfast in the restaurant twice and the buffet is very good. When your do the breakfast buffet, they bring a plate of fresh fruit and pastries to your table. You won’t leave hungry. We had lunch each day at the poolside restaurant and the service and food were good.
I just adore this hotel. The beach and grounds are beautiful and well arranged to feel private and never too crowded. What really stands out with this property was the level of customer service. The staff were genuinely interested in making our stay as pleasant as possible. In these times where staffing is a huge challenge on the islands, you would not know it here. This hotel has always been our go to when we visit the big island, and we will keep coming back!
My husband and I took our first vacation, without children, in over 20 years. We had never been to the Big Island and were quite excited about our stay. The Westin Hapuna did not disappoint! Our ocean view room was peaceful and beautiful. I loved the fact that there was a screen door, on the lanai, so we could open the door and listen to the ocean. Housekeeping was attentive and left ice, in my ice bucket, for me daily. Such a special touch! Mostly, I want to give a shout out the the fantastic ladies at Ikena Landing ESPECIALLY Julie Wong aka Yuki. My husband and I both feel like we made a lifetime friend in Yuki. Every morning, we were greeted with such kindness. Yuki knew exactly what we wanted for breakfast, each morning, and truly treated us with authentic ALOHA spirit. We watched pool servers and restaurant servers treated with such lack of respect, I'm sure it is hard to always treat this type of guest with kindness. I just want to say that your staff does an excellent job. I'm hoping that we can return next year and bring our children and grandchildren. I would love for them to meet Julie Wong!…
Let me begin by saying the beauty of the resort is remarkable. The property is pristine with gorgeous beaches and multiple pools. You will be hard pressed to find a better place to enjoy a Mai Tai than the infinity pool at this resort. I also want to commend the management of this hotel. It is obvious they have worked to develop a culture amongst their team that strives to exceed every customer experience expectation. Gena, the Assistant Manager reached out to me ahead of my arrival to offer any assistance the resort could provide. Amber at checkin was extremely friendly and welcoming. During my stay I also was received exceptional service from the restaurant staff at the Meridia, the grilled octopus, ahi tuna, and wild boar Ragu was phenomenal. At the Naupaka Beach Grill, Jerry was an expert bartender and offered excellent advice for my time on the island. Poolside, Myrna made sure I was never left wanting for anything. My room was always cleaned to perfection. Guest service breakfast delivered to room, and enjoyed with an ocean view on my balcony was a treat. The French press Kona coffee, omelets, and Belgian Waffles were tremendous. Also, the valet team was very fast and always greeted me by name with a welcoming smile. My room was perfect in every way. In fact, it may have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Of course, the sound of the ocean coming in from the balcony and the very comfortable Westin robe didn’t hurt. Ultimately, if you are considering this resort, I cannot give a high enough recommendation. Without question I will stay at the Westin Hapuna Beach for every return trip to the Big Island. Well done Marriott. Well done team!!! Warmest Mahalo from an extremely satisfied guest! Sincerely, Ryan Christen…
This hotel was fantastic! We were upgraded to the 1 bedroom suite. It was so nice! The whole hotel was beautiful! We would absolutely stay again. The beach was nice and had a nice area for snorkeling. The adult pool was an infinity pool and absolutely gorgeous! The grounds were beautifully landscaped. Everything was clean and the staff was amazing. Everyone was so nice. I especially loved the ladies at breakfast. They were great and I loved the flowers in their hair. I enjoyed seeing what new flower they wore each day. They gave you a beautiful lei at checkin.
Wonderful stay! Access to exceptional beach just steps from your room. Great snorkeling, good area for beginners but still LOTS of ocean life to see (it was our kids’ first time snorkeling (twins almost 9 yrs old) and we saw plenty of fish as well as a family of sea turtles during our stay). Cleaning staff was wonderful. Grounds were well kept and everything was clean. They had plenty of activities as well. We enjoyed feeding the koi fish, and I enjoyed the sunrise ceremony and seaside yoga. Coffee bar on site makes a great cup and the buffet breakfast is not to be missed. Also has laundry room on site which is clean, has all the supplies you need and is free to use - this was a major bonus for our family. Highly recommend!
I agree with another reviewer that the property itself isn't old or new. But it is still in good shape. Our number one reason for staying?? The BEACH!!!! I'm so glad I listened to all other reviews about this beach because it lives up to the hype. It's perfect! White sand and clear blue water. Gorgeous sunsets!! I loved the fact that we could roll out of bed and this beach was steps away. Exactly what I wanted. We ALWAYS found a beach chair. The bummer was the wind. When it was strong we couldn't use the umbrellas. Rooms were clean. Cleaning staff were super sweet and courteous. Water stations every where to refill the awesome water bottles. Pools were nice, food was average (but again not why we came :). The coffee bar and grab and go food was really all we needed. Loved the small, quick, easy options and healthy choices too. The papaya was the best! The cool part was the shuttle service to the sister property Mauna Kea. You have more dining options there. We would come back FOR SURE. We loved all the relaxing lookout points at the hotel. It's open and airy and super duper relaxing. Slept with the sliding doors open and locked screens so we could hear the crashing waves. Hiking trail right on the property. The highlight was getting a surprise visit by a sea turtle when we were in the ocean. Just swam right by. It was amazing!!…
Beautiful lobby, beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff, and — best of all — you’re not nickel-and-dimed for every little thing (aka no charge for beach chairs, poolside lounge chairs, etc,). Two minor gripes: The food was mediocre (even at their upscale Meridia restaurant) and the ocean views in the south tower, where we stayed, are somewhat obstructed by the Residences built in between the hotel and the beach. To be clear, you do have a full view of the ocean — at least from the upper floors — but that view includes the rooftop of the Residence building. Compliments: - The concierge spent a ton of time helping us plan out our activities - They have a beautiful 100% free laundry facility for guests - They pay attention to detail: I ordered a bucket of ice to the room the first two nights of our stay. For the remaining 4 days of our stay they had ice waiting in n the room each afternoon without me asking. Well done!…
We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and it was incredible. We have stayed at many Marriott resorts and this is hands down the nicest one we've stayed at. The view from the moment you walk in is simply awe-inspiring. It's the perfect location with direct beach access. There is fantastic snorkeling just off the beach and when you get tired of the ocean, the pools and jacuzzis are steps away. The restaurant by the pool called Naupaka is perfect. It's casual and convenient with solid food and drink options. I do recommend reservations. We ate there multiple times for dinner and grabbed plenty of drinks at the bar. We also took advantage of the adult pool/jacuzzi from time to time. The infinity pool is a nice touch and you can't beat the views! The rooms are well appointed and the beds were so great to sleep in. We had a 2 queen room. We were spoiled by our view from the 9th floor! I missed that view today!! The fitness center was great as well with plenty of space and every type of machine/equipment you could ask for. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to the Valet staff who were kind enough to grab us towels when we needed them and also fill up our cooler with ice for a couple of our island road trips. We cannot wait to return to this property!!…
