The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands garners acclaim for its luxurious amenities, such as diverse dining options, well-maintained pools, and a private beach, all contributing to a family-friendly atmosphere. While some guests consider the services to be overpriced, many revel in the hotel's cleanliness and the staff's exceptional service. The spacious rooms offer stunning views, although there are remarks about them being somewhat dated. The hotel's serene, beachfront location is celebrated, even if it's a bit secluded for those looking to explore.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. A highlight was the sea view from the pool terrace as well as from the balcony of our room, Sea Front View rooms are 110% worthwhile here.
The rooms were nicely decorated, the mattresses comfortable and the bathroom generous with two sinks. A closet where you can properly store clothes might have been practical.
On the positive side, there was also a private section on the beach for hotel guests. The loungers were a bit crammed here, so we preferred to lie by the pool to relax, but a lounger on the beach has always been found. Since the beach is sandy beach, you didn't need aqua shoes to go into the sea.
I also found it good that there was an indoor pool area with heated swimming pool, whirlpool, steam bath and textile sauna and is child-free from 1pm-4pm (outside this time it was very crowded and not suitable for relaxing from the noise level). The pool outside was unfortunately extremely cold, you could heat it quite a bit.
What I lacked was the possibility to get free drinking water (the 330 ml per day per person in the room is not sufficient for the temperatures). The only way to buy water in the hotel was in the hotel's own kiosk for 8€ the sixpack, which is simply rip-off, we then bought the water in a supermarket outside for 3€. A drinking dispenser for water replenishment would have been quite sufficient.
At breakfast there was a lot of choice, great I found that allergens and relevant ingredients were labeled everywhere. Even for vegans there were possibilities to eat somewhat varied at the buffet. The restaurants also had vegan options.

The Radisson Blue Golden Sands Hotel is top class - in every respect:

The location on the cliffs above the "Golden Beach" bay ensures the best view of the sea (if you book a room with a sea view). The pool area is large and beautifully laid out. The sandy beach extends slowly into the water, making it ideal for children.

The staff are extremely polite, very friendly and considerate in an unobtrusive way.

The hotel is extremely clean, which is something you rarely experience. The rooms and balconies are large and the furnishings are of high quality - even in the rooms that have not yet been renovated. Our family room for four people had a fully equipped kitchen, but we didn't use it at all because the hotel's various restaurants serve excellent food (our favorite is the "Essence" with Indian cuisine; see my separate review).

There are various activities on offer for children in the kids club, but the scope and type of supervision are not comparable to the program of German or Austrian children's or family hotels. Some nice programs such as baking pizza or decorating muffins only lasted 10 to 15 minutes and then the children were back with their parents. However, it should be acknowledged that this hotel offers several activities every day (such as playing football in the evening on the hotel's own sports field) to make the vacation more varied for the younger guests.

The hotel is very quiet, secluded from the towns. The surrounding area is worth exploring with short hikes, especially southwards over the Għajn Tuffieħa Bay to Qarraba Bay with its viewpoint with a wonderful view of the bizarre rock and sand landscape (see my respective separate reviews on Google).

If you have a car, you should definitely drive to Mġarr for dinner, which is only 10 minutes away by car. There are various excellent restaurants around the large church (we visited the "United Restaurant Behind The Church" and the "Trattoria Da Manuele" and reviewed them separately on Google).

In summary, you just feel at home in this hotel in Malta and are warmly welcomed as a guest. It is by far one of the best hotels we have ever vacationed in as a family. Highly recommended!!!

This was my second visit to the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Malta Golden Sands.

I'm pleased to say that it was enjoyable as our first stay there and now one of our favourite places to have a relaxing sun filled holiday by the sea.

You always feel welcome here and as before we were welcomed by Henri at breakfast who provides hospitality second to none along with Jane Rose who also deserves a mention along with the whole of his team.

Room service was provided by Umang, who also made us feel welcome and was top class looking after our needs and keeping our room clean and tidy.

We had a room with a sea view and what a great view to wake up to each morning.

The hotel also has it's own private beach and there also several pools, including an adults only, to accomodate most tastes. There are plenty of sunbeds and at no time did I feel there was a lack of them. Fresh towels for sun bathing are also provided every day, so there is no need to take your own.

The days are sunny and hot and it cools down in the evening without any humidity and so felt comfortable.

The breakfast is the best I've ever experienced with plenty of choice, whether Full English, Continentel, pastries, cereal or fruit. The Indian Essence restaurant is among the finest Indian food I have ever tasted and the Mokka Lobby Bar and Terrace is good value.

Needless to say I look forward to going back again and catching up with Henri and the rest of the team.

The service at this hotel is top class. We had an issue with the safe and two people from security and maintenance turned up within five minutes and they solved the issue within half hour including housekeeping to clean up the mess created. Both men kept apologising perfusively on top of this and it wasnt even the fault of the hotel. Staff very friendly and nothing ever a trouble. Facilities - beds and pillows comfortable and love the fact that they use refillable shampoo, conditioner and body washes in the bathrooms considering plastic waste. Coffee tea and chocolates provided every day and restocked as was the soaps etc in the bathrooms. Gym is small but functional and water and towels provided. The breakfasts are plentiful and such a wide selection for a healthy or indulgent breakfast with soya, almond milk on offer as well as cows milk and smoothies lactose free so inclusive. My only weakness in this hotel is the location - the view is absolutely stunning but going into the sea you really need swim shoes as the pebbles, rocks are sharp and it is far away from everywhere so choose this hotel if you want to relax in peace and tranquility not if you want to sightsee unless you hire a car or happy to rely on bolt taxi service. However bolt is the best most efficient i have ever known!! All in all we really enjoyed our stay and definitely for a romantic couple getaway. One quick positive mention for the Italian restaurant Agliolio where the food was utterly amazing and view to the sea stunning. Also just adult family members holidaying but children are very well considered with fun activities - crafts and active activities plus we also saw a guest laundry room lovely if you miss the washing machine.

This was first holiday abroad as a family and it has truly been a memorable experience we will treasure. The Radisson Blu Golden Sands Malta is a beautiful hotel with very a very friendly atmosphere, perfect for families who want a little bit of luxury. We went half board which was great, the buffet style breakfast was amazing with so much choice and dinner was a different cuisine every evening. Our children are very fussy eaters but finding food they would enjoy was never issue. There was always plenty of staff around to help with whatever you need and it felt like the hotel was always being cleaned and maintained. It is a very well organised and welcoming resort, we were especially impressed by a couple of ladies who helped us with breakfast and dinner and would like to express out thanks in particular to them, Shanti and Parabati really looked after us and we hope they will get rewarded for being so attentive and hospitable.
The beach is so close, there is a private beach too..however our children preferred to be by the pool which is very relaxing but there are activities like the water polo and aqua aerobics which we all enjoyed.
We hired a car through drifter which is available near reception, there is so much to see on Malta so would really recommend this, the island of Gozo is quite near and you are able to get a car ferry over to it.
We would thoroughly recommend a sea view room as the view is stunning overlooking golden sands beach and coves.
In the evening there is are some good singers, musicians, we especially enjoyed the saxophonist.
Our one tip would be to bring plenty of suncream as it is very expensive in Malta. There is a convenience shop in the hotel but it is on the pricey side.
There are plenty of activities on the beach like jet skis, parasiling, paddleboarding etc..would really recommend hiring a self drive boat out and going around the bays..so beautiful especially the blue lagoon near Comino.
All in all you can't really beat this as a lovely beach holiday with the right balance of plenty of interest in comfortable and relaxing surroundings.

The first impression is that the structure is kept very well, clean with great attention to detail. In fact, at any time of day, despite the large number of guests, the common areas are always impeccable. Often, in fact, one almost feels sorry for the passage during cleaning.
The staff is always attentive and helpful, both in reception and in the restaurant. We had half Pension (it is not possible to book FB) breakfast and dinner in the restaurant "Flavours": great variety of foods, even espresso, corners of cold dishes and desserts so beautiful that they were worth photographing.
The room was very spacious and always tidy: we booked a "country view" suite and the presence of a kitchenette was very useful to solve the problem of the missing meal.
The location of the property is not conducive to travel, but you can rent a car or take buses to Valletta directly outside the hotel for € 2.50.
The only drawback, if we really want to find something that is not 5 stars, is the beach: impeccable services of providing towels (even every day!) but the space is a bit sacrificed. The chairs are all attached and you risk having too many people in a few meters. The sea however is exceptional!
Ours was certainly a holiday to remember, as was this property.
Special thanks to Elna, Gemelyn, Sheryl and Robert and all the staff.

Great friendly staff, Henri who greeted us every morning at breakfast was very professional, he always made us laugh and feel welcome.

The hotel itself is well maintained and is in a quiet location, also accessible by public transport at ease.

We enjoyed the Italian restaurant that is located on site. Firstly the staff do a great job with the service that they provide but most importantly, the food is amazing.

Our stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Golden Sands was one amazing experience and we just loved it. From our arrival and stay to leaving was an excellent experience all round. We were a family of two couples with one member being somewhat restricted physically. We were given superior rooms which were placed very close to the lift in the Sunrise Building on the 5th floor. That lift was a life saver as it connected with all the appropriate facilities on each floor very easily. There were four restaurants which we were very impressed with especially the Indian restaurant called Essence. The hotel was beautifully laid out and access to the Golden Sands private beach for the hotel was really excellent. We had a room overlooking the countryside and it was brilliant because we were able to watch so many activities of the horse riders, walkers, campers and runners enjoying themselves. The rest of the hotel which had viewing areas with beautiful sea and landscape views especially when having breakfast or an evening meal. The sunsets were spectacular and the views stunning from every angle. We conducted a number of walks from the hotel and all of them were most enjoyable and easily accessible. All in all this hotel was perfect for all of us and the staff were exceptionally brilliant. Everything was just right and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What a brilliant hotel and even more brilliant were the staff. This was a most memorable stay so well done Radisson Blu Golden Sands, Malta. It only remains for us to say..... THANK YOU SO MUCH and well done.

The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands is a bit out of the way, but has a very nice beach and a great pool. With the Bolt taxi service, you can get to Mdina, Mosta, Valetta and other places on the island in no time. The "Executive Suite" offers a lot of space, two bedrooms (1xKing, 2xQueen), two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a living and dining area. What surprised me very positively were the HDMI cables that peeked out from every TV, so you can easily connect a device you brought with you.
The campsite next to the hotel was quite busy on Friday and Saturday evenings (until late at night), so one point deducted for "sleep quality". The rest of the time, however, it was very quiet.
The coffee machine built into the kitchen didn't really work (maybe I just couldn't use it properly). However, we were immediately provided with a Nespresso machine and plenty of capsules for it. Water was brought to the room every evening.
My absolute favorite food-wise was the "Crispy Chicken Wrap" in the Mokka Bar. It is served with chips as standard, but I had them swapped for fries. I have never had such a good wrap!
If you meet "Henri" at breakfast check-in, say hello from "Mr. Klaus" - he will be happy ;-).

We really enjoyed our week’s stay. The location was ideal for us - relatively peaceful, with nice swimming pools and steps down to a clean beach to enjoy a swim in the sea. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and attentive. Straightforward transport options (including the hotel’s own “Drifter” service) to other towns, including Mdina and Valletta which are both worth a visit. We had bed and breakfast and used the kitchenette in our room some nights but ate twice at Essence Indian restaurant which was excellent. Simon & Caroline Janaway, room 2917.

Very easy, local bus is cheap but so is the local taxi (Bolt). The ride is about 18 euros Don’t use the hotel taxi service though (Drifter) as they were a lot more expensive than Bolt

We didn’t go full board, so don’t know. There are Several hotel restaurants which take bookings, but are expensive. 5minutes walk from the hotel is the Apple Eye restaurant which is half the price of hotel and has a fabulous menu. We ate there 5 out of 7 evenings. You can catch a bus into Bugibba where there are loads more restaurants.
