At Riviera Hotel & Spa, guests have called out the diverse amenities and convenient transport options as highlights, though some feel entertainment could be expanded. While the hotel's location is praised for its access to Gozo and Comino, others consider it somewhat isolated. The rooms are commended for their cleanliness and views, but there are occasional maintenance concerns.
Noise levels are a common issue, with traffic and music often cited as disruptive. The service and value receive mixed reviews, with the staff's friendliness acknowledged, yet inconsistencies in service and pricing noted. Cleanliness throughout the hotel generally earns rave reviews.

Hotel overlooking the sea. Externally well maintained. Good location if you plan to take advantage of the sea during your stay otherwise I would recommend other locations on the island (closer to the main attractions such as Valletta or Mdina). Clean and in excellent condition room, ours faced the sea and enjoyed an excellent view. We had problems with the cleaning of the rooms since they never changed our towels (they took the dirty ones without replacing them) and we always had to go down to reception to ask for them in order to take a shower (every day the same story was repeated, we also had to ask for toilet paper when it ran out). We purchased half board (which I recommend given that the hotel is located far from any restaurant). Each dinner had a different theme (e.g. Asian cuisine, Maltese cuisine), the quality of the food is good but very international in style (spicy and elaborate), there is a good choice of vegetarian foods and the desserts are very good. The problem of the restaurant is that every evening the tables were never ready and, together with the other guests who arrived like us around 8pm, we had to ask the waiters to bring us the cutlery and clean the table (waiters who had to deal with an excessive number of customers at the same time). We only used the indoor pool for one day (beautiful, elegant and well maintained). Luckily we were on the first floor and used the stairs because when we took the lift on arrival and departure to carry our luggage we had to wait 10 minutes for it to arrive.

We stayed at this property for 4 nights having included only breakfast (very varied for the savory a little less for the sweet but all good). The room with partial sea view and pool is very spacious and Recommendation this type so as to enjoy the view in peace on the private balcony. The structure is very large and very clean I would only have preferred a lamppost to illuminate the parking lot because it is really dark. The staff is friendly and helpful. We tried the buffet restaurant inside the hotel both for lunch (cost 20€ per person drinks excluded) and for dinner (cost 26€ drinks excluded) and we liked lunch more than dinner (purely subjective). We also tried the Italian tavern always attached to the hotel and the Recommendation for both quality of food and value for money. The structure is far from the town, Recommendation renting a car that despite the Guide on the right is still useful to those traveling with small children like me. In addition to the outdoor pools we also enjoyed the indoor (very large and elegant) and L whirlpool; they are good alternatives in bad weather. Highly recommended for families.

Labranda was mostly great for our first trip to Malta, an exceptional and must-visit island. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted with welcome drinks, however were left clueless of our surroundings post-check in as staff didn’t inform us of any directions or hotel amenities etc (not even towards a lift..). Upon finding our room, it was large, modern and had a beautiful view of the sunset which we thoroughly enjoyed every evening. The room was kept well-ordered every day, although the balcony door was not locked on day 1 and 2. We kindly wrote an appreciative note to request the door to be locked after cleaning, as this was followed on day 3 despite the cleaning standard then falling below the previous days. The note remained in case of a different assistant and on day 4 we returned to a 31°C degree room as the balcony door was left completely wide open, which in turn caused the AC to turn off, and the note had been removed. After complaining I was ensured that it would not happen again: it did. The following day was left unlocked, therefore only 2 of 6 days our balcony was locked after cleaning. Despite being on the top floor, this is completely unacceptable as the balcony are linked and access is effortless. There is no other reviews on this so we are unsure why this happened to us. No other compensation or explanation was provided. The half-board option only allowed access to the buffet restaurant, which was unknown prior to booking but in hindsight can be found online, nonetheless it featured a different cuisine every night and contained lovely food at breakfast and dinner. By night 3, we had learnt it was easier to grab our own cutlery and napkins as staff were never completely attentive; they were mostly clearing tables, often walking straight past guests who were seated, hence drinks also took a while to order and arrive. This was particularly frustrating when seated outside all week with 2 servers catering for only 20 tables. Despite this, staff were mostly kind and helpful, helping with requests etc.. On the other hand, the morning AM servers in the lobby bar were fairly rude almost every day to my girlfriend as they rolled their eyes or sighed when requested for Iced Coffees. There is not many amenities around the hotel, but it boasts easy access to the rest of the island via low-cost buses, as well as Gozo and Comino via nearby ferry terminals. Highly recommend Mellieha bay. The pool area is clean and well attended with well-shaded areas but also locations for all-day sun. Beautiful sea nearby accessed from rocks. Good place for family holiday, nice guest mix of nationalities and ages, good daytime and evening entertainment. Overall a great trip, thanks for the hospitality.

To avoid, all inclusive in name only. The first day of our arrival we were told that if we wanted to eat we had to pay, the same for the bar regarding cookies, the same for the swimming pool, fries are chargeable. No explanation of how the hotel works, they don't even tell you where the elevators are. The rooms are very poorly soundproofed, waking up at 6:30 a.m. the day after our arrival and at 11:40 p.m. in the evening while we were sleeping, by noisy neighbors. The restaurant is very noisy. At lunchtime you are only given half the room. It looks more like a canteen than a restaurant. Often the food is barely hot or cold. Isolated hotel, construction site of another complex right next door. Trash cans in front of the hotel that are overflowing. We had shower gel in a small pot the day before our departure otherwise mini soap, the shower gel container in the shower was empty the 8 days of our stay. Dust on the chandeliers, rust on the bed frame, 1 little creature in the bathroom. In addition, the hotel is located in the air corridor with planes night and day. No French spoken at reception. Several times with soap in the reception toilets. The staff on the other hand is very nice. If you don't speak English, don't even think about staying there. The hotel needs a good renovation. 4 fictitious stars. A water fountain on each floor, positive point. In summary, hotel to avoid, too far from everything, isolated and it's the factory.

I am delighted to have chosen this hotel! Superior room 3 people, seafront, the view of Comino and Gozo is just breathtaking. Far from the hubbub of the cities (La Vallette, Siema, etc.), no vehicle traffic apart from local residents so not much noise, and the buses which come to pick up residents for excursions. Departure from the hotel possible for all excursions. We rented a car and the free parking is very easy to access. Bedroom for 3, our son had a bedroom in ours with a door. Very comfortable for privacy. Balcony with table and chair, drying rack, and always the crazy view… The people at reception take great care, I had a cake for my birthday 🎂 in the room and towels folded into swans on the bed ❤️. Line cleaning every day and after 3 days without cleaning (on request) and therefore without changing towels/sheets… we receive a bottle of wine 😄 (which is truly exquisite) because it is an eco-responsible hotel which favors sorting it, saving water, plastic bottles (filtered water available on each landing), you can therefore ensure, according to your beliefs, to follow eco-responsibility in this luxurious hotel. Personally we joined. Meals on site: great choice! on average I would say 10 dishes/sides, 20 starters, 5 cheeses, 20 desserts… the wines are excellent (with a preference for the hotel’s special red LaValette vintage). The hotel's 2nd restaurant, Italian, is succulent, I ate a 400g piece of beef there for €25, marbled and meltingly tender, accompanied by whole grilled vegetables and homemade fries... 😋 We didn't take advantage of the swimming pools much, the sea was more pleasant to our taste 😄 (just avoid the jellyfish 🥵). That said, they are well designed and pleasant. the indoor pool is empty at certain times it was a pleasure to enjoy it alone with our son away from the crowds. Whirlpool bath, sauna available. But given the heat outside, the sauna uh... no need 😂. The only negative thing, and frankly we are picky, is that you can hear the port of Čirkewwa depending on the winds because the ferry makes round trips there day and night to Gozo.

The Labranda riviera is a beautifully presented hotel with a lovely welcoming reception on arrival. Check in was pretty swift and our room was on 4th floor. Room is really modern with a modern bathroom, balcony view was of the hills at rear of hotel. Room comes with free use of safe, kettle facilities w tea/coffee/whitener, fridge, hairdryer in bathroom. There is a drinking water fountain on all floors for kettle use, keep empty bottles to put in fridge as well. We were AI and at all sittings in the restaurant there were plenty of choices. There are 3 bars in hotel, with one being the pool bar 10-6 serving snacks as well, the other bars stop serving at 11:30pm. There are 3 pools with the outdoor pools being a bit chilly as you first get in but soon warm up after splashing around playing water polo. The 3rd is an indoor heated pool with jacuzzi. Never tried the spa or massage so cannot comment. The evening bar upstairs has something going on every night from bingo to karaoke to artists 2 or 3 times a week. There are 2 restaurants attached to the hotel but these are pay to eat. A little makeshift caravan style shop is outside opposite for food/drinks or snacks. The view from the front of the hotel is of Gozo & Camino in the distance, there is no beach to speak of but can swim in the harbour. The location from the airport is approximately 1hr 20 (depending on how many drop offs on way) To get around the island there is a bus stop at top of road or taxi. We caught the hop on hop off buses which pick up every morning outside, tickets can be booked with rep. Also did the Gozo Camino blue lagoon water tour, well worth it for a swim in the lagoon. The weather for the week was fantastic with 28-29 degree sunshine everyday. Only downside to this hotel is it’s location and surroundings, basically it’s limited, if you thrive quietness and non rowdiness this is perfect, if you want shops, nightlife, bars & restaurants it isn’t. Hopefully over the next few years this location will burst with all said above. It’s only because of this reason I gave a 4 rating, other than we had a fantastic holiday, thank you Labranda. PS. Malta is a stunning island steeped in history, culture and architecture. Worth the hop on/off buses to see this and the harbour boat tour.

Very good hotel. The room was very nice but a comfortable arm chair would have helped. Room service was good but we had to ask for a toilet roll once or twice. Otherwise, the room was pleasant and comfortable. The food was excellent and absolutely no complaints. You could help yourself as often as you could and the food was beautifully cooked. This was the best quality in the hotel but the rest was very good.
A good choice and quality of drinks and good waiter service. Although the size could often vary from a medium to a large eg Blue Lagoon/Brandy but always very good. The outside pools were nice and plenty of sun beds and shaded areas but very few umbrellas. Indoor pool was good and an excellent steam room but rather inaccessible as it was through the spa.
General setting was good and unspoiled but a bit isolated, would suggest a man made beach by the hotel for safe swimming. Easy access for snacks at lunchtime as we were half board and a big advantage was a van parked less than 5 minutes away, open every day to late with cheap snacks, great variety and drinks. Anima ion staff very friendly and helpful.
A special mention to the “bell boy”, Sergio from Colombia, always so helpful and friendly throughout the day from 9 am to 9 30 pm. A lovely person and a good friend. Also to Martin the guest Manager a very nice and helpful man.

We were all inclusive, the food was good, different themes each night, good quality and tasty dishes so we was impressed with that.
The room was clean and spacious, beds firm but not an issue, air conditioning is set to a low of 23c with three speeds, it was fine, kept the room cool.
The drink situation is a joke, so first night in the restaurant it was very busy took 15 minutes to find a table, once we did, took another 10 minutes to get the attention of a server, we asked for two diet cokes, they never came. There are warnings in the elevator warning you of busy times in the restaurant to be honest don’t bother going between 7:45-8:15pm you will be waiting at least 20 minutes to get a table.
The restaurant ran out of cutlery twice at dinner service, I had to take cutlery from a table that had been reset.
There is a water station which is turned on during breakfast but off at lunch and dinner, I just don’t understand the thinking behind this, when the restaurant is busy surely it is easier to let people help themselves.
When trying to order a drink in the evening or at the pool bar a guy is standing in front of the bar he asks you what you want then relays this to the person behind the bar, they tell you to take a seat and they will bring it over, but because they are busy and prioritise paying guests it take 15-20 minutes before your drink arrives, it’s just inefficient.
This hotel caters for non all inclusive guests and I think they prioritise guest who pay for drinks, all the staff are very friendly and polite but there is not enough of them and it’s was a frustrating experience for us as all inclusive guests.
The hotels is in a very quiet location, very close to the port to gozo, nothing much around the area. We had a car but bus services are good around Malta so easy to get around the island.
Beds made every day but they left a load of glasses in the room & didn’t change the towels in the 5 days we were there.
I won’t be returning to this hotel, just not that impressed really.

Dear Mr Marc, We thank you for your review and we appreciate your feedback .Thank you for your compliments , Regarding not having water during lunch or dinner this depends on what package one has booked and also to offer you tap water this is not advisable as abroad the tap water is drinkable and although one can drink tap water it may upset ones stomach and therefore our restaurants like most if not all hotels and restaurants in Malta stock up with mineral bottled water. I assure you we do not prefer or give priority to guests who pay etc and if it came across in such a manner this for sure was not our intention and we will do our best to be more attentive next time. Also you mention that you sat a table and there was no cutlery and you had to getup and take clean cutlery from a nearby table.I am a bit confused as to whey you sat on a dirty table which was not made up and you didnt sit on a clean made up table. If you would like to explain as possibly I am misunderstanding kindly send an email to martin.sapiano@labranda.com Looking forward to your reply Regards Martin Sapiano Guest relations manager

A hotel near the piers to cross to Comino and Gozo, noise-free area, the hotel offers three restaurants with average prices and good quality. The hotel has facilities in perfect condition, spacious clean rooms and good soundproofing. The staff still do not speak Spanish always with a smile and happy to help in any way that is needed. I will certainly repeat the same hotel when I return to malt.

We stayed for 5 days in October and we will certainly be back. Every member of staff we encountered, from the restaurants, bars and spa, were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. But a special shout out to Carlos, the Bar Manager. He was very friendly, welcoming and attentive and his service went above and beyond.
We booked a superior sea view room and the sea views are fantastic. The rooms are large with good facilities and a nice balcony. The aircon is also good. Everything you'd want from a 4 star hotel.
The selection of drinks on the all inclusive were very good, and all of the drinks were very tasty. The only thing to mention, is AI selection was different in each bar which was confusing. For example, fruit juice at the pool bar was AI but at the lobby bar it wasn't marked AI on the menu. However when I asked for a rum and apple juice at the lobby bar this was included. So maybe the menus across each bar just need updating to include the same things?
The food was amazing 4 days out of 5 at the buffet restaurant. Plenty of variety for lunch and dinner and the dishes were never duplicated a different day. The day we didn't like was Asian night, but that's because we're in the Med so didn't fancy Asian food that is easily available back home. It would also be nice if it was Maltese night more than once, or if some Maltese dishes were available on the other days. Malta has wonderful cuisine so it should be shown off more, especially when you cannot get it at all in the UK. However, regardless of the theme there was always a great variety of meat, fish, and veg dishes. Plus different pizzas and pastas each night too. The desserts every night were fabulous, so much nicer than many of the 5* resorts we've been to. It was also easy to get a table and there was never a queue for food.
The indoor pool and jacuzzi in the spa were a wonderful temperature, and my partner had a massage which she loved. There is also a Thalasso Pool and Sauna which you have to book, and these looked great. The outdoor pools were a great size, and there were plenty of sun loungers. There was also a pool bar which is great as it's always easy to get a drink no matter where you are in the hotel.
The location of the hotel is only within walking distance to the immediate local area, so if you're not all inclusive you will need to pay to eat at the buffet or the 2 a la carte restaurants unless you have a car/take a taxi to take you into Mellieha where there are loads of restaurants. However the location is fabulous for views of Comino and Gozo (the ferry is only round the corner to get there too), and very close to Popeye Village. With Malta being so small, if you hire a car you can pretty much get anywhere in 40 mins.
Overall, we felt very welcome here, enjoyed all of the facilities and had a wonderful week.
