We arrived late Monday night and after checking in headed to our room which was nothing like the photos. After an 18 hour travel day due to delays this was the last thing we needed. The walls were bright yellow and had marks all over, the sofa was very stained and wouldn’t have dared to sit on it, and the bathroom wasn’t clean at all. We asked if we could change room and got told that we couldn’t as they were ‘fully booked’ by some very rude staff, even though on their website it was shown they had plenty of rooms left for our duration of stay. In the end they said they had just had a cancellation and that we had to pay to change room which we did and it looked at lot mote like the photos which definitely made our stay a lot better and it was clean!! There wasn’t many food options and especially for me a vegetarian there was about two meals each night I was able to choose between (luckily i’m not fussy). There was no basic food such as chips of plain pasta. In my opinion the food here wouldn’t be the best for children. Breakfast was very basic (cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, etc) was a little disappointed that there was no fruit. Overall the food that there was very tasty. We did enjoy our stay here very much and loved the rooftop pool. We also thought the drinks were very reasonably priced and the majority of staff were very friendly and helpful! The location is very good too, was very close to a nice beach, shops and lots of restaurants. There was bus stops outside the hotel and the busses are very easy to use and are extremely cheap. Only annoying thing was it was over an hour bus journey to Valletta. Lastly, the hotel didn’t have any evening entertainment that we was made aware of which meant in the evenings it was very dead and we ended up going to bed very early. We could have gone out but didn’t want to have to spend extra money to fill the evenings up. The only thing we saw that went on in the evenings was the Euros playing on the Tv. Overall the hotel was very nice and so was the location and I would stay here again.

Dear Guest , Initially we would like to thank you for choosing Luna and Malta as your holiday destination . As regards the first room given to you , note that yes, the room assigned was the correct one however my colleagues offered you an alternative room and we are happy to read that it was sorted within a reasonable time. As regards the different dietary restrictions from our guest, note that we do offer vegan, vegetarian options for our guest as our waiters can also ask our head chef for specific food such plain pasta etc, but im also glad that you found very tasty our food. Regarding the entertainment, indeed we offer regularly entertainment in our main lobby and during the Eurofootball we also display this at our Don tonino Bar . We thank you once again for your constructive feedback and we look forward to welcome you again in the near future . Regards

Had a sisters holiday here in August. Check in went smoothly the hotel staff are nice and helpful. The room was spacious we had ocean view. Everything was really nice. Had self catering as we didn’t want to commit to just hotel food so we had a mix of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner
We didn’t really go to the family pool as we spent our time in the adults only lounge on the 6th floor. The floor has a good amount of space for lounging in and sunbathing. 360 views from the sky lounge. Amazing during sunrise. Only downside for the pool is it closes early. The food and drinks were average nothing that was amazing.
Another downside to the rooms is if you need any room service they do take a while to attend to you. So it’s easier if you just go to reception yourself.
Renting towels is €2 each and you return it at the end of your stay.
The €50 they take from you was never mentioned anywhere AT ALL!
Even when we had left the don’t clean room and do not disturb on the door we still had staff come in to the room. Like what is that about.
Overall the stay was great everything was walking distance, few restaurants, live entertainment, coffee shops, groceries etc. everything was within walking distance max 5 minutes

We stayed here as a group of 7, ages ranging 14 to 53 in August 2024.
The reason for our stay was to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
Pros. The rooftop bar is lovely. The barman is very helpful and happy to make cocktails that aren’t on the menu.
Cons. Location not ideal. To get to the majority of restaurants and bars you have a walk up a very steep hill or taxi/bus ride, which obviously adds to the cost of your meal.
Rooms not cleaned everyday. Our room was cleaned every other day and each time something was missing, for example, the recycling bins weren’t emptied or no toilet roll left so had to go to reception.
Family pool not great. There are 2 pools, one on the ground floor and one on the rooftop, which you had to be 17+ to go to. The downstairs pool doesn’t get any sun on it, so if you like to lie in the pool with the sun on you, you can’t. Other people commented to me that ‘if you came here with small children you’d be very disappointed’.
No special measures for our anniversary. My husband had contacted the hotel before our arrival to add on some extras and inform them of our anniversary. On the day of our anniversary we didn’t even get our room cleaned. If you are looking for somewhere for a special occasion, look elsewhere.
We would definitely return to Malta, but not this hotel.

Totally unbiased review, We made special requests before travelling, On arrival they hadn’t been met, advised by a second colleague they hadn’t received it!!!! We asked for the request to be made, said every room was occupied and hotel was fully booked, Checked online and was still possible to make a reservation dates we were staying, blatantly lied !!! Observed many people checkin also. The sky bar, pool, jazzuzi , and plunge pool weren’t open, (no facilities) Was told at the restaurant breakfast was €8 if booked at reception, went to book said it was €10 unless I went 3 times. In 5 days we didn’t get towels changed once, went asked someone cleaning rooms, was told someone would bring them later, NEVER CAME. Room was very compact n reasonably Clean.

Dear guest . Initially we would like to thank you for having stayed with us . as regards the request you claimed you had made, I had personally showed you that we had never received such request . Breakfast is indeed €8 but ONLY if you book for the entire stay . If one opted to go a single day or not consecutive days, the charge is €10 which is correct from our receptionist side. As regards the towels , note that towels are changed every other day but your room had the do not disturb sign in place to which we need to respect . We are sorry to read that you felt disappointed with our services, however, and as you can see from previous travellers most of them are extremely happy with it. We hope you give us another try in the near future. Regards

I had read some conflicting reviews prior to staying at Luna so I was unsure what I was expecting.
Upon arrival we were informed check in was at 3pm (arrived at noon), we could accesss the facilities whilst we waited. We changed into swimwear, safely stored our bags and headed to the top floor adults only area- beautiful and friendly staff.
Pool was clean and plenty of beds.
We went back down and checked if the room was ready at 2pm and it was, room was lovely (2105) looking out onto a farm. Clean and spacious with everything we needed.
Location was great and we had to stop the cleaners - daily for entering the room to change the beds.
We booked half board and the food was lovely, breakfast was a good variety and there were always tables available.
We didn’t realise on half board the drinks weren’t included in our evening meal but that is our fault for assuming and not checking.
We were greeted by friendly staff and they always spoke to us when we acknowledged them, treat people how you want to be treated and you will get a better response.
The location was perfect and plenty of restaurants in walking distance.
Impressive buses only costing €2.50 anywhere on the island and very frequent, running all day into late night.
We would definitely return to Luna without question.
The people who complain either like to or aren’t willing to try new things. Also some people come across as being rude so I would expect they have had a bad experience as they have probably been rude to the staff.
Highly recommend from what we experienced.
Hope my review helps you.

This was first time to Malta which is beautiful. We booked a superior studio apartment but superior it certainly was not. Positives were cleanliness and the barman Rav. He was the best staff member chatty, attentive and efficient.
The negatives of the accommodation. Bathroom shower over bath with shower curtain and no rails to aid getting in and out. I have a hip replacement and osteoporosis and therefore falling could result in fractures. I did address this with reception staff and manager and requested room move. I was told rooms were randomly allocated however then told could only have room changed if there was a cancellation which does not make sense. I was given a non-slip mat but that does not help getting in and out I had to hold onto the door handle. The shower rail, bath and sink tap were rusting. Bed pillows very hard and requested extra but still very uncomfortable.
The balcony was small no table to sit outside, no outside light and no washing rail. The view was of a brick wall and it was really depressing looking out. I did request move but did not happen for reasons already stated. Apparently all superior studio have view of road pool or the inner courtyard and is luck what you get even though all rooms cost the same which seems very unfair.
Pool towels cost 2.5 euros and we kept for whole week and due to lack of sunlight it was difficult to dry them.
The hotel is not suitable for wheelchairs., pushchairs or those with mobility issues as there are no ramps just steps.
On our departure day we checked out at 11.00 and left for home at 15.30 and therefore requested use of the showers. There is no room allocated for this and the showers next to the gym are used. The ladies shower was not in use so I went in the men's with my husband. At the doorway was a very large live cockroach and inside a dead one. The shower smelt and was very slippery.
Malta was lovely lots of restaurants to choose from would recommend Street Food. Visits to Gozo, Valetta, Silent City and St Pauls were wonderful. Visited Blue Lagoon but disappointed as a natural beauty spot has become very commercialised.
Would visit Malta again but not this hotel.

Dear Guest , We initially would like to thank you for having stayed with us. As regards the Studio superiors, please note that it is listed in our website as well as in any other online platform that offers our services ,that studio superiors are allocated randomly and may be facing 3rd party properties . We regret to inform you that we didn't had any request for wheelchair accessible rooms from your agent side nor from yourself. As a matter of fact, we do have few rooms for guest with special needs and or with disabilities, however, since we didn't hade any request from your end, those rooms were occupied by other guest with special needs . We would like to gain your trust back , as you can see, most if not all our guest are extremely happy with our rooms and our services, and for that , we invite you to email me directly should you wish to come again in the future and we will make sure this time around we meet your expectations . So I attended the Luna holiday complex on the 2nd July for 5 nights bed & breakfast . Check in went really smooth , was told need to pay €50 depoist which wasn’t mentioned before the I booked the holiday .
Got to the room , the room was very spacious and clean , wasn’t a very nice view out on the balcony back on to really dirty buildings . We had trouble with the tv in room got house staff and sorted the trouble . Bathroom is very dated and wants updating .
Breakfast well we only decide to eat there twice , first day it was very busy in there it only hold 100 people and there was no where really to sit . Air conditioning was on full so as quick as put food on plate and sat down it was cold . Basic full English ,eggs was all hard , bacon was uncooked , it smelt really bad of eggs . We decided that after second breakfast that it hadn’t change we eat somewhere different .
Cleaning of the room wasn’t brilliant, I spoke to one of night staff that cleaners had been into room and there was items missing out of our fridge , the night staff said they would look into it .
2 days before leaving the television stop working again I notified the staff yet it wasn’t fixed
Upon leaving- we ask if we could check out later time they said they was fully booked I can understand that . So I asked if there was a room I could hire for hour or showers we could use , I’ve travelled all round the world and most nearly all them offer a room to hire for 1 to get wash and changed , yet the Luna didn’t offer this ! We was told we could take a shower so that was fine , on the arrival back to use the shower we collect the towels and headed down to shower room , apparently there was burst water pipe and they didn’t know when it was gonna be fixed . So I asked the receptionist if there was alternative to be told to have a shower in family swimming pool shower ! Where no cubicles to get changed or private area to dry or wash
While sat thinking what to do in the foyer we heard the staff talking about myself and partner , it was very disrespectful and rude . They was laugh about us and being very rude . It made us feel very uncomfortable and put a big disappointment end to our holiday
I will not be returning to this hotel ! I wouldn’t want to return back to rudeness of staff , if it hard t I’d been that on the last day

Dear Guest . Im doing a copy paste of your previous review as not to loose time Note that we respectfully disagree with your review . Firstly, you never mentioned about missing items and our staff is well trained and we questioned the staff who had entered in your room. This particular staff member are Maltese, locals and they been with us for over 8 years. As regards the shower, I was the person who you spoke and we did informed you that is an extra service not advertised anywhere and unfortunately we had an emergency repairs , but we offered you an alternative for our showers in the family pool. Once again we respect your opinion but we fully disagree with your comments . Wishing you all the best

After reading numerous reviews we were a little anxious about our visit. We should not have worried as found all staff welcoming and helpful. We had pre arranged a card and gift for friend’s birthday and Charmaine on reception made sure this had been actioned for us whilst taking care not to spoil the surprise at check in. Thank you Charmaine 😁. Advised by our travel advisor that nearby works could cause discomfort however we did not find this an issue throughout our stay. Basic self catering room for our accommodation but comfortable place to rest head with clean rooms and shower. Visited the Bar area which was also welcoming. Found location ok as directly on a bus route which allowed us to visit a number of locations following purchase of the weekly bus pass at reception for €25 which gave unlimited trips for 7 days. Yes the buses had busy periods but the cost saved on taxis outweighed the inconvenience of occasional standing. Visited a number of local restaurants with Nora’s restaurant and separate Nora’s pub a must for a visit go right as you go out of the hotel and located a little down the road. Didn’t catch the name of the lady in Nora’s pub but she was fabulous every visit. Porterhouse steak house was amazing too located up the hill on left hand side just up from Burgers Ink. Valletta, 3 cities and Mdina are beautiful.

We had a lovely 11 night stay at Luna. This hotel offers value for money. We had clean towels every day and beds changed every other day which is really good for a self catering basis. The staff were lovely and pleasant every day. We were welcomed by Julie who was very helpful throughout our visit. The apartments have plenty room, we are a family of four myself, my husband and two grown up sons. The bathroom slightly dated but very clean and for the money we paid was sufficient. The Sky top pool is immaculate and serves very reasonably priced drinks considering it is such a cool vibe, always plenty sun beds and very comfortable too! The staff on the pool bar were so friendly and smiley all the time especially Don. Also the food on offer at bar was really tasty and again reasonably priced. The Luna is in a great location close to beach and bus stops to explore the island. A trip to Gozo is a must about five min walk takes you to where you can book for 23.00 Euro we paid extra for the roof top bus when you get there which was well worth it for an extra 10 Euro. Noras bar and restaurant is on the doorstep really good food and you can also order to take away. Up the hill in town has lots of lovely places to eat you can either walk or get a Bolt taxi for 5 Euro. We had a lovely view of the church at top of hill which was very pretty on a evening with its lights on. My husband and son made use on the onsite gym. All in all we had a lovely time and made some lovely memories we would love to return some day.

We last visited this great hotel on the 21st of November this year. The time before this was 5 weeks before! (Yep, we love it!) Overall we have been to Luna 3x and are booked again for October next year (although we hope to go before then). We were put into one of the refurbished rooms on the front of the hotel with our favourite view of the church. The room was 4* not 3. The hotel is absolutely spotless throughout and tastefully done. The staff are lovely (too a person) from management, reception, restaurant, and the housekeepers - genuinely nice friendly and happy people. Excellent lift access to all floors. We always have b&b and the quality of the food is excellent with something for everyone's taste. We have dined here too and once again the food is very good quality for the price. Any issue with your accommodation you may have however big or small is sorted immediately by the excellent maintenance team. There is a mini supermarket attached to the hotel at reasonable prices if you self cater. There are 2 pools, the sky pool on the roof top is adults only and is peaceful, and a sun trap with 360 views. The location is exceptional. The beautiful ghadira beach is 10 minutes down the road. There are numerous good restaurants on the this road leading down to the bay. The bus stop is 2 minutes away where you can visit anywhere on the island for €2.50. The ferry port to gozo is 10 minutes on the bus (no.41) and it costs €4.65 return to visit gozo for the day. The crossing is about 20 minutes and well worth a visit gozo is. You can buy a 7 day explorer bus pass (talinja 7 day explorer) from the airport (and various other outlets) which allows you to travel the island day and night for 7 days. This can also be used on gozo buses. Malta is the most beautiful island, steeped in history with some of the most stunning architecture you will ever see (St. John's cathedral in valletta omg) and the Luna complex is the perfect place to stay. Can't wait to go back ❤️ Malta ❤️ Luna
