We stayed at the Viu hotel at the beginning of June 2024, we had a great time. The hotel offers large and comfortable rooms, equipped with a small fridge, TV, air conditioning (unfortunately without remote control) and a large wardrobe. The view of the bay is crazy, you can also see the island of Gozo and Comino, shame about the large, very dirty windows. We also found the mattress comfortable even though it was not a double but made up of two singles pushed together. The bathroom is smaller, but quite comfortable: there was no shelf "for soap and other products" inside the shower and also no carpet to avoid wetting the floor. Punctual and impeccable room cleaning. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, we appreciated that the reception was open 24 hours a day as we landed late in the evening. The hotel has a swimming pool open until 7pm, very clean water and the supplied towels are also very convenient (to be requested at reception) to avoid using personal ones dirty with salt. Our formula also included breakfast which was served on the ground floor. The possibility of having breakfast outside with a view of the sea and swimming pool was nice. As for food, there was a fairly varied choice... you could perhaps add the possibility of having espresso and cappuccino directly from a dispenser, or different flavors of juice (as there was only one type). The classic croissants were also missing. One evening we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, very elegant and refined. The dishes were exquisite, really good, shame about the price being a little high compared to the average and the dishes themselves (however the menu is displayed in the hall so we expected it), if it had been cheaper we would have dined here more often during our stay. In terms of location, the hotel is not close to the beach but is a 7-minute walk from the bus stop (the bus service offers a weekly pass of €25 per person and is useful for moving around the island) and in a few stops you reach the closest beach which is Mellieha bay. Overall we recommend the hotel! 👍🏻🌞

Hotel with excellent location, just minutes from Mellieha. A 5-minute walk takes you to the Adenau stop, from which bus lines pass to the airport, to the port of Cirkewwa (ferries to Gozo), to Ghadira and the bays of the northern part of the island, as well as to the other cities, including Valletta. The hotel is located in an internal street, very quiet, therefore the surrounding environment is also calm and not noisy at all. It presents itself very well right from the entrance, with new and well-kept furnishings. There is access to a large terrace, with swimming pool and deckchairs, from which it is possible to admire a beautiful sea landscape. We stayed in a lovely room with a sea and pool view, well looked after, quiet, with excellent cleaning (even daily), modern furnishings, very comfortable beds and equipped with a mini bar, adjustable air conditioning with thermostat, television, free Wi-Fi that always works, hairdryer and bathroom kit. Very bright room, with a large French window and balcony (with two chairs), overlooking the hotel swimming pool and the sea (Mellieha Bay) and from which it is possible to admire sunrises and sunsets. Really suggestive. Very nice bathroom, with modern furnishings, an elegant touch of color for the cement tiles in the shower, functional in every way, but the only suggestion: I would add a carpet and a towel hanger for greater comfort. Very friendly staff, both at reception and in the restaurant area. Breakfast is also recommended, full of choices, from sweet (cereals, various types of sweets, jams, honey) to savory (eggs, cured meats, cheeses, bread), to fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juices and coffee. On a rainy evening, we also tried the hotel restaurant, which has a very serene and romantic atmosphere, with soft lights and delicate background music. The menu is varied, especially for the second courses, with typical Maltese dishes, well cooked. As a nice welcome they serve scones with olive oil, very good. Wide choice of wines, for different price ranges. Prices average for other restaurants. Overall, really recommended hotel, with excellent value for money.

This was the first time iv stayed at this hotel since the Panorama hotel days, rebranded now to the VIU 57. I arrived on boxing day afternoon and got checked in straight away. Id asked for a high floor due to me being a light sleeper and was given room410 facing the bay which was extremelly acceptable. The room was quiet at night aswell i dont think the hotel was totally full at that point. Breakfast for the first couple of days was pretty adequate and then i believe there was a management change and more hot stations were introduced along with more cold plates and pastries and cakes etc, also a new coffee machine which helped so the breakfast overall was good. I must say the staff and management were extremelly polite and friendly, nothing too much trouble. The interior of the hotel is very nice and modern compared to the old hotel, the rooms are very nice with adequate size bathroom. Maybe the shower is a tad small but you get used to that. Also the water is as hot as you like it. I love Mellieha and have been coming to the area since the 1970,s and in my opinion this hotel is really in a great place, situated behind the church away from the main street but close enough to walk to the bars and restaurants that are nearby. The view from the hotel is amazing, overlooking Ghadira bay. One very important factor is this hotel is value for money i was very surprised how good the hotel was and i will certainly be frequenting it again

Quite disappointed: - hotel completely north-oriented, in November you do not see the sun appear at all. So you cannot use the swimming pool.
- Did you think you would have a quiet drink in the bar?... bad luck, it only opens at 7:30 PM (along with the restaurant where I saw no customers during my stay)
- room: beautiful view but not clean. Also had technical problems with the plumbing, I had to report the same problem every day. In addition, the bed was far too hard for me, but that is a personal matter.
- substandard breakfast. Orange is the only fruit, coffee is not my taste at all. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am, if you join us at 8 am the tasty things will be gone. You can find three bowls with literally a few pieces or leaves of tomato and lettuce. Toppings consist of cheese or ham, honey or jam. Plus point: the scrambled eggs were really tasty.
- staff, also don't click with them. However, I must remain neutral about that. They have done nothing wrong, but also nothing to make the stay more pleasant.
All in all, I won't be coming back here. You will also find 4-star hotels for this price, where you can stay better - I am thinking of the Maritim hotel, for example. I was seduced by the view and the photo with the sun by the pool, but the latter does not apply in November.
I have a feeling the hotel changed hands not too long ago and used to have a great reputation. Because honestly, something can really be done about it. At the moment I think the price-quality ratio is too expensive. Especially because you get more for less money at a 4-star hotel than here.
So hopefully you will have better luck if you decide to choose this hotel!

This stay was incredible from start to finish. Upon arrival, the hotel itself looks modern, well kept, and very clean. We were then able to check in a few hours early which was great, and given a sea view which was very impressive (see attached images). Many, if not all guests at the hotel were adult couples, which meant it was calm and relaxing throughout our stay and around the pool/sun beds area. The sun is directly shining onto the sun bed area the whole day with no shaded areas (although umbrellas are there for shade if needed) which was an added bonus if you love to tan. The hotel provides beach towels at your request from reception, and the room attendants come in daily, unless otherwise advised, to tidy up the room. We requested a late check out due to having the last flight home of the night, but instead we just left our luggage in the store room and were still allowed to enjoy the amenities of the pool, sun beds, and shower facilities which is a great touch. Very friendly and attentive staff - nothing is too much of a bother for them. Overall a perfect stay and would 100% reccomend for your next holiday to Malta.

Returned after lovely break in September. So disappointing. So many negatives right from check in. Had personal emails from reservations re. My 2 rooms. On arrival they had only one. You can’t get a drink or snack between 12-5pm. Housekeeping starts loud daily clattering & banging around at 7am which is unbearable. The view is great but it’s not enough. The pool is an ice bath - even in September.

Lovely hotel. We found it very peaceful and clean. The staff are so helpful and the views from the balcony and infinity pool were amazing. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from and, if you want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, particularly recommend the Seaview cafe. Although it's at the top of a hill, there are regular buses up and down to the seafront or the staff will order you a taxi.

Nice hotel in beautiful location. Dinner in the restaurant was the best food of our trip and service was excellent. Bus links close by, walk to the sandy beach is down a long hill and is around 1500m away. Found the bedroom to be incredibly bright at night, a gap at the bottom of the door allowed a lot of light in. This also impacted the soundproofing of the room and 2 out of our 3 night stay I was woken due to this. The duvet also didn’t seem big enough for the bed and barely touched all edges of the bed when made, which wasn’t ideal. Other than this the room had good amenities including kettle, fridge, hairdryer, air-con

Nice hotel, recently renovated. A clean, good sized room with a beautiful sea view. Only the windows need a better cleaning. The breakfast is delicious but very limited. If you want an espresso - you have to pay additional 1.80 euros. Breakfast starts at 8 am. - too late in my opinion. Quiet area, but it is far from the sightseeing and Valleta. It's easy if you rent a car, but it's hard to find parking spaces in the evening.

This hotel is brand new with well appointed room with a small balcony, perfect to admire the great sea view. The pool area is fantastic with a great view and the breakfast was pleasant, outside by the pool. The coffee and quality of some of the food could be improved to encourage clients to stay for dinner. It is very closed to the beautiful church of Mellieha and uphill so not for everyone if you don't have a car. It is away from the rest in a residential area, which is what I like. Make sure you check it if you want to stay in a smaller hotel in the village,
