We looked at this hotel last year on a 3 week trip of the Algarve looking at hotels and golf courses for a friend of ours. We liked the look and the rooms so we checked in on this new trip. We weren’t disappointed - we had a suite in the top floor but the normal rooms are just as good with just the lounge area missing and not as big terrace. Food in the restaurant is probably the best in Monte Gordo as we checked out a few restaurants and the hotel one was far superior to the rest. The other restaurants and bars are about 200-300 yards away. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, modern and spacious. We will be recommending this hotel to our clients for definite.
A difficult hotel to review. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner was good. The majority of staff were also excellent but the hotel had some peculiarities.First a notice on the inroom fridge stating that items placed in the fridge which were not bought in the hotel would be taken out and destroyed. Also a notice saying the room had two coffee and tea bags on arrival but they would not be repleniched !!! It appears the accountants have taken over. Whilst the room was acceptable it was designed by a robot will little regard for storage in the bathroom or the placing of bathroom lights for shaving. One other point is that the indoor pool is the temperature of my bath at home and we were also told by reception we needed to purchase swimming hats at two Euros each and when we walk in the pool there were only three people there......none of whom were wearing swimming hats !!!!!! Would we visit again.......I am not too sure...incidentally the hotel had houses opposite who had the usual constant barking dogs…
This hotel is well situated and a great base for getting out and about. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed as every member of staff was approachable and helpful. Less than 5 minutes in one direction is an assortment of bars and restaurants and 2 minutes further is the beach front with a walk way and even more restaurants. The beach goes all the way to Foz do Guadiana! If you turn left when leaving the hotel, then you will come to the woods which takes you to Vila Real de Santo Antonio. The room was a good size with a balcony which was shielded from the wind. There was a safe, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities too. The toilet and shower room were a good size, but lacked a shelf or cupboard (but that wasn't an issue for me!). Breakfast (with coffee at the push of a button) was a great way to start the day. Although it got busy, there didn't seem to be any shortages of options (although I was usually done by about 8:30). I ate there one evening too and really enjoyed my meal; there was a buffet which was really popular, but I had been walking all day so treated myself to octopus tapas, steak main and carob and orange cake for dessert! I used the gym too, which had a water cooler and spare towels for those using it. (The hotel also has a daily event which residents can sign up to, e.g. stretching, running, pilates, water aerobics, etc.) I also used the spa services twice and thank them for sorting my shoulders and neck out. The indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi is free to residents, and seemed busy, but that didn't bother me as I was out and about or sitting by the rooftop pool reading.…
My wife and I have just returned from this lovely hotel in Montegordo Portugal. The hotel is very modern as has only been built within the last two years. On arrival we were allocated our room which was a junior suite on the 3rd floor. Although the room was lovely it was impractical so without any fuss we were moved to another junior suite on the 4th floor. All the junior suites are apparently different. We had a lovely sea view, separate bedroom and walk in shower. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are amongst the friendliest I have encountered. It is well located for the beach and visits to Spain. There is a rooftop swimming pool and this is where the bar is located until 7pm. My only slight criticism would be the choice of main courses at dinner. I found them ok for me but wasn't suitable for my wife. If I could make a suggestion to which we had experience of in Crete in two separate hotels where clients could take a main course from the a la carte menu and forgo the main course buffet. All in all we loved this hotel and would recommend it. This was our 3rd visit to Montegordo, the last being 10 years ago but personal preference would be elsewhere in the Algarve as Montegordo is not the prettiest location in the Algarve…
Superb 10 night break at The Prime Energize Hotel. In a superb location and short walk from the beach and also bars, restaurants and shops all within 2 minute walking distance from the hotel. Hotel itself has a great rooftop bar and pool/lounging area. The gym has enough space and equipment for a good workout. The restaurant has a great menu of food and drinks, all reasonably priced (€15 - €25). Hotel is kept clean and the service is excellent from all staff.
