Detailed Reviews
We stayed in this property during our last leg of Europe trip in October 2019. The reason for selecting this property were principally three - one the Brand, secondly this was close to a friends place where we were supposed to visit and last being close to the Airport. So saying, this is also not too far away from the Zurich Central Station and after changing one tram and about 40 minutes, you would be at the hotel. There is a tram stop near the hotel and this makes commuting very easy and cheap. However, the location of the hotel is more of residential and business oriented, a bit distant from the touristy destinations of Zurich.
Our check in was fast and we were provided a room on the higher floors. No view as such from the room as the window was facing the alley and not the main road. Anyways, we were not missing something as a room on the either side would have been facing the main road. The room was big and with standard amenities as expected from the brand Novotel. Wifi speed was decent but somehow I found the room cooling not up to the mark and no way I could make it comfortable during our stay. However, it was not that bad as well as otherwise I would have reached out to the hotel staff for resolution.
Breakfast was complementary and included in our rates. There were plenty of options and we did not find anything missing. The hotel, being in close proximity to the airport, is preferred by the Airlines as well for accommodating their crew and this might be the reason that the breakfast offering were more than any other European Hotel. There is a shop at the hotel, close to the reception, where you can buy those usual Swiss souvenirs. I checked it out and the prices seemed reasonable.
Two observations I have and not sure why a brand like Novotel cannot do better on this. We left our luggage for almost 6 hours after we checked out and was required to pay for each and every item as storage charges. Also, the drop to the airport in their shuttle was chargeable. I think both these items should be complementary. I can surely understand if a guest intends to leave luggage back for days but for hours it should not be charged.

As usual nice people at the reception, at the restaurant, and with the breakfast service In the room. Only thing I believe is that the room service for breakfast cannot work well on the long term. If there is more than person is not working and is not nice at the end the breakfast like this. If I can suggest, I would go back to buffet but having someone on your side being the only one authorized to touch the food and prepare for guests on their demand. I saw that for example in Italy

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your loyalty even in these exceptional days. I fully agree that our a la carte room service breakfast offer has some limitations, especially when we will start to welcome more and more guests again. Therefore we are already working on some solutions for that which will bring back the full buffet breakfast experience while respecting all hygiene and sanitary precautions. Best regards, Markus Koller

Convenient Location right next to the tram station so ideal for short stays/Airport Layovers within a few minutes tram ride from Zurich Airport. We stayed as a family with a child twice in April 2022 and the hotel ticked all the boxes from a convenience perspective. Basic rooms with minimal facilities and a basic but good bed and a okish breakfast - all you need really for a day or two stay. However potentially an issue for longer stays as encountered issue that we generally ignored as we were not going to be there for long. The hotel is in a desperate and urgent need of an upgrade to fixtures and fittings. The electric buttons and card holders that get the electric system going in the rooms snapped on me and dropped on the floor. The room furniture has definitely seen better days. Loved the large opening windows in both the rooms. Staff generally OK and give you information that you request but service is not high on agenda as our breakfast boxes were not ready beside being requested the night before. In the morning I was told there was no message left for kitchen staff. No apology given and every body got on with their life.
Overall, this is a good option for a short term stay only. Location is excellent as right next to a tram station coming straight from Airport and going straight to Zurich City Centre. Will return if I had layovers in Zurich with Swiss Air.

We stayed in this hotel the night before our flight out of Zurich. It is conveniently located across the street from the street car which takes you to both the train station (about 30 minutes) and the airport. The check in experience was pleasant except for a few unexpected fees and the room seemed nice, but a little warm and a lot of noise from the road. We took showers, which soaked the entire bathroom due to only having half a shower door, and turned the thermostat down a bit and went to grab some dinner. When we returned the room was warmer than we had left it and super humid from the showers. I turned the thermostat all the way down and it felt like it was getting a little cooler and went to bed.
Both of us got a terrible night's sleep due to the road noise, and the fact that the room never cooled down and fluctuated between slightly warm to unbelievably warm. I would never stay here again

Regular guest in your hotel. Understand that corona requires different handling. But check-in was difficult, person barely spoke English / German. No (instant) coffee available. Shower cold in the morning on first day, has been fixed second days. Room was not made up again next day, no shower gel. Parking machine did not accept Amex so I had to go up again. Service desk agent at first day did not allow to book on room, he asked me to pay on the machine. Worked only next day.
So overall this was really poor experience, not comparable to previous times.

I am an ALL Diamond tier member and stayed here for 2 nights. The airport has a tram stop right outside and route 10 goes to and from the airport quickly and efficiently. The bar and restaurant are never open except for breakfast, which is surprising given how Switzerland is meant to be post-COVID and Accor properties in worse affected places have opened bars and eateries.
Obviously they have so much business from airline crews that they simply cannot care less about individual guests, no matter what their loyalty tier may be.
I was given a room on level 2, which is in effect ground floor. They were repairing a lift and I stepped off the lift to a corridor full of unattended heavy equipment, so much so that I could not wheel my suitcase past.
The reception staff can generously be amid to be efficient and more accurately described as curt and dismissive, from check-in through to the last night of my stay. When I asked if they had stamps or can post some mail for me, one of them gave me detailed directions to a post office and then told me it would be closed at that time. The Gold Medal goes to the young man who worked the night shift on 6 May. I wanted to buy some packets of nuts in the absence of any food. He had me wait a few minutes at the counter while he finished fiddling on his phone, and then insisted on cash. He said they cannot be charged to my room (even though mere hours before I bought a Coke Zero and had it charged to my room). When I told him not to worry about it, he had the nerve to say “You are not happy and I am not too.” On that alone this hotel would be on my black list and I recommend everyone do the same.

Well, it is an Ibid. Barebones clean hotel with limited services and priced on a budget. You pay what you get, even though you can get brand name hotels for 30-40 CHF more.
Booked it as it was the cheapest option and offered free airport shuttle. It's free from the airport to the hotel, 5 CHF on the way back.
BUT there is a problem. The shuttle company instructs their drivers to pick up any arriving passenger looking for a taxi, which causes a mess.
There was a lady from the USA who was lured inside the van even though she said she wanted a private taxi. I told the driver to stop lying to her and in the end the woman went mad at me for respecting her right to a private ride because I was getting inside that van also.
In the end, the driver lured a couple from Mexico, who also wanted a "taxi" and off we went all three.
When arrived at the Ibis, the driver had to wait for the front desk attendant to finish checking in an elderly couple so the hotel would give him the receipt of my free ride. The poor Mexican couple had to wait some 6-7 minutes to continue their ride.
Oh yes, on the day after, when they were supposed to arrive at 5h25, they showed at 5h22 and someone started phoning my room like crazy. As I was on my way out, I didn't answer. But I can imagine someone forgetting something important inside the room thanks to such unnecessary harassment.
It's a shame such service exists. Of course, not directly related to the hotel, but since it is advertised as part of the services offered by the hotel, a review and warning is mandatory.

My partners flight had been cancelled to which the airline had arranged accommodation for him for an overnight stay to help cover any loss. Upon arriving at the hotel he was advised they had no rooms available & declared a “payment be made” for a room to be given. He had produced to them his invoice & confirmation of booking produced by the airline but was still denied any access. He was greeted by a gentleman working the night 17th Sep. He had to sleep on the hotel floor because the hotel refused to provide any rooms. He had asked for a glass of water due to the amount of travelling he had done & being so lethargic but was told instead to divert to & drink “toilet water” because their policy states they cannot offer any drinks as a hotel and that toilet water is drinkable. I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by the way he has been treated. We have never had such an experience with a hotel ever and I would never recommend such a place to anyone.

I travel quite often for business or travel and many times I use hotels from Accor Group: Mercure, Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel or MGalllery. As usual, I looked for a convenient hotel near Zurich airport and chosen Novotel.
I was shocked by the disastrous state of the hotel: dirty carpet on hallways, stains on the walls in the rooms, broken devices in the bathroom and the elevator looking like a shooting stage ... overall a disgusting experience. Not only for me, other guest started screaming when entered a room nearby! The reception lady was absent at times from the area, I was allocated a room prepared for a different person (based on the note found on the desk in the room) and the breakfast was much less than usual.
Other hotels took the opportunity of lower turnover during Covid times to do a fully refurbishment of the premises, I don't understand why this hotel could not be cleaned up and repaired.
All in all, to be avoided.

We booked a stay from September 1 to September 3, 2021. After checking in, my husband decided to nap while I was working. He woke all of a sudden scratching his neck and we discovered a mosquito on his pillow. During our stay I discovered 2 bites and my husband 3. The front desk staff evidenced at least 2 mosquitoes. They justified it with COVID related protocol requiring to keep windows open. I talked to the front desk manager the next morning and was assured a full refund. Since we had booked through a third party we had to request a full refund through them. We have just received a denial of the refund request in spite of the front desk manager's assurances. Fortunately I had recorded his assurances. We also have photo and video evidence. Do not stay there.

Hello Anita,
If I remember well, breakfast starts at 6 and goes until 10 in the morning, especially it being an airport hotel and many flights departing early in the morning.
Did you get to read the reviews? Are you sure you want to book there, aware of the many issues the hotel has?
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly, cheers,
Vítor
Didn’t try. So can’t respond.
Both the stop over points HB and Flughafen have tram services so u can hop on one and take a ride to Lindberghplatz which is just in front of the hotel
I also was a guest like you and not from management team. Your guess is as good as mine
