Hotel Juliani, a 4 star hotel, is Malta's small design boutique hotel enviably located in the heart of Spinola Bay, St Julian's. In fact, you're never more than 25 minutes away from most parts of the island, including the beautiful baroque capital of Valletta. Originally a traditional seafront townhouse, the Juliani has been meticulously converted to provide 47 rooms, an intimate setting and very personalised service to its guests. Today it remains a family-run establishment committed to ensuring you feel at home and well looked after. Each hotel room offers excellent facilities, fresh Mediterranean decor and plenty of space. Many also boast unobstructed sea views, and you will be able to watch the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the water from the comfort of your balcony or the rooftop swimming pool. Meanwhile, as a cosmopolitan commercial and entertainment district, St Julian's surrounds you with many of the best restaurants, bars, conference centres, casinos, health spas and shops that Malta has to offer.

Hotel Juliani garners high marks for its prime location, nestled close to key attractions and transport links, although some guests mention potential noise. The rooms are lauded for modern comforts, pristine conditions, and sweeping views, while the chic atmosphere and design impress many. Despite occasional remarks about the noise level, features such as effective windows contribute to a peaceful stay.
The hotel offers a rooftop pool and praiseworthy breakfast, yet some consider certain amenities basic. Guests commend the exceptional service and overall value, even as a few find additional charges for extras steep.

Hotel's Favorite
Have just returned after spending 4 nights at hotel Juliani and would honestly say it’s the best hotel in St Julian’s.
Location was spot on right in the centre of Spinola bay with a bus stop opposite to get to Valletta as well as so many bars and restaurants around.
We were celebrating my boyfriends birthday and I was liaising with the hotel beforehand to arrange breakfast in the room and a cake and it was honestly above and beyond what I expected. To make it even more special we received a complimentary upgrade which just completely topped it off.
Every staff member we spoke to including in the Spa were friendly, knowledgeable and spoke perfect English.
Room was clean and modern and the L’Occitane toiletries were a luxury. Comfortable beds and pillows we slept like babies!
Can’t comment on the restaurants as we ate out all the time but the room service breakfast was AMAZING! They also accommodate very well to gluten free/coeliacs.
I could not recommend this hotel enough it ticked all the boxes and we will not hesitate to stay there again if we ever travel to Malta again.
Thank you so much for making the trip spectacular! It will be a trip we will forever remember

We recently visited as a mid-twenties couple and were impressed by the hotel. When we arrived we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco as it was my partner’s birthday during our stay. We upgraded to a sea view for a cost but the views were lovely (same as what can be seen from the rooftop). The rooms were spacious and clean with lovely additions such as a robe, slipper and l’occatine shampoo, shower gel etc. The rooms have everything you need from a safe, fridge, hair dryer and smart TV which we used for music via Bluetooth. The staff were friendly and accommodating and allowed us to check out later than 12pm.
The pool area is clean and there were enough beds every day apart from Saturday which was a lot busier, the pool attendant frequently asks around if anybody would like drinks etc. There is also a lovely gesture from the hotel every day when they hand out free mini watermelon coolers.
Of a weekend at night there is live music - however you may need to reserve a table to get a good view.
The prices of food and drinks from the café are average e.g. €8.50 for a cocktail and there is the option to pay or sign to the room.
Lovely hotel which is worth the high ratings.

We had a lovely fortnight staying at this hotel in St Julian's. With many of the rooms overlooking Spinola Bay, it is in a fantastic location, just far enough outside of the nightlife of Paceville, but near to loads of excellent restaurants.
It required people wore masks as they entered and moved around, only allowing them to be removed when seated for a drink or food. 99% of people respected this. We did feel very safe with their Covid set up, which also included the masked and gloved staff serving you at breakfast time, rather than you touching all the food.
Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of hot foods in the buffet area, with pastries, cakes, bread (toasted if you want) and fresh fruit and yoghurts. You could also order fried or poached eggs from the kitchen.
We had a spotlessly clean and large bayview room on the 7th floor with really great views. Most evenings we enjoyed a glass or two of wine sitting on our balcony, as the sun set behind the hotel, watching the boats moored in the bay and the traffic buzzing along the coastal road.
The hotel has a small rooftop sunbed area, which were a little restricted in numbers due to covid, but there was only one day we could not find a spare place, when we wanted to use this area during the day. As St George's bay with it's large beach was only 10 minutes away, it was lovely to pop down there, pay 15 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella and enjoy a dip in the sea instead of going to the roof.
All the staff were brilliant, but special mentions go to Manwel on the front desk for his help in us planning our trips to Valletta and Mdina, Gabriela for her amazing Velvet cocktail and Erica, for the loan of her mirror, when our hair drying options could not stretch to the room mirror. These 3 guys made our trip extra special, but all of the staff were wonderful.

We had a standard room which is a reasonable size although there is no view from the window just a courtyard. we did not pay for a view though. There is a plug and 2 USB sockets each side of the bed, so no issues with charging phones and Watches. The En-suite shower is a rain head with separate hand held spray so meets whichever shower type you prefer. water pressure was good and the shower was nice and hot. One of life’s unknowns that, a hot shower on a hot day is, apart from a cool beer, a really refreshing experience.
The Hotel has a Michelin starred restaurant which has an Asian flavour. We ate there once and were surprised to find the prices very reasonable and we enjoyed the food.
Breakfast is basic but adequate, with a reasonable range of fresh fruit, Ham and Cheese, bread for toast and Cereals. for those that like pastries there was also a range of mini-pastries to start your day. Finally, there was a small cooked range for those of you that just have to start the day with Bacon and Egg.
The staff were extremely friendly, efficient and very helpful. This made our stay really pleasant and stress free as even the owner came and chatted to us which was a great personal touch. we are both visually impaired and arrived to find our door had been marked so that we could find it easily. a brilliantly simple idea, but the first time ever this has happened to us in over 20 years of travelling together.
The accessibility at the hotel is excellent as the lifts speak and also the floor numbers on the buttons are Brailled and tactile. it is also one of those where the 0 (ground floor) button sticks out so it is easily found.
The hotel advertises a small pool and this is what it is. about 10-15 metres long and 5 across, with a very shallow shallow end, great for children. There is a great view across the Harbour and out to sea from the rooftop sundeck and the poolside bar is open late for cool drinks in the evening and food if you like.
The hotel is situated next door to a hamburger chain and a a couple of doors down from a Japanese food chain which means there are a lot of delivery bikes outside. don’t let this put you off as really you don’t notice them. There are a plenty of restaurants within a stone’s throw of the hotel and many more if you walk a little. 10 minutes max will give you more choice than you’ll find in many other places however, so eating out is not a chaw at all.
Travelling from the hotel is easy as there are bus stops just outside the hotel with regular bus services to Valetta and other places on the island. buses are Modern, regular and cheep and the drivers speak English.
We had a great week and We'll certainly be going to this hotel again. it has given us a very high opinion of Malta.

We booked a four night stay in the junior suite. The hotel is conveniently located in St Juliens, right in front of Spinola Bay (very beautiful views). There are many dining options within walking distance and the bus stop is also conveniently located outside the hotel. Other reviewers had mentioned the noise, but you won't be able to hear it when the patio door is shut. We travelled in winter so were unable to utilise the roof top pool (not heated). House keeping staff did a good job in cleaning the room daily, and reception to bar staff all very attentive and polite. We received a welcome drink of Kinnie at check-in which was unexpected.
We booked bed-only so can't comment on the breakfast spread. The bed was comfortable but I wished the pillows were firmer. There is a carpark at the back of the hotel, but it is very small and spaces are tight.
For the price, location, excellent service and comfort, we will definitely go back there again.

Wow what a gem. This hotel is right at the centre of the bay but once inside it is calm clean & tranquil. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and efficient. Our room was on the 7th floor with a balcony overlooking the bay where we spent most evenings watching the sunset. The cafe on the ground floor served an amazing breakfast with everything you could possibly want and in the evenings we sat here and enjoyed a cocktail before going out to one of the many restaurants just a 5 min stroll away. The bus stop is just across the road, this is the best way to explore Malta. We used the Vintage Bus City Tour which went from St Julian’s to Valletta , a day ticket was €4.50. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked the Deluxe Sea View Room Bed & Breakfast at Hotel Juliani for the final week in October and had an excellent experience.
On arrival staff were helpful and polite which gave us a relaxing start to our trip (including a local soft drink). Our room was nicely decorated, very spacious and with great views across Spinola Bay/St Julian's Bay. The hotel is located central to the bay and has some limited parking within the hotel itself which we utilised with the hire car. If the car park is full reception will give a ticket for a local carpark which for free which is part of a grocery shop and is very secure and only a minute walk away.
There are loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance but the sushi restaurant in the hotel (Zest) is amazing! The octopus taco was the best thing I've ever tasted!
The breakfast was buffet style - warm and continental options with local cheeses and pastries everyday. Orders for eggs, juice and hot drinks are taken at the table and there are always plenty of staff at breakfast.
The pool area was a good size with plenty of seating for the time of year and there are lots of pool towels available. The rooftop bar was not in use but there was a phone to call down for drinks and food. The pool was very cold though! The view from the top floor are stunning at night.
An amazing place to stay. The sea view room is worth the extra money in my opinion. Although the rooms are also on the road side we didn't hear a thing during the night.

The staff were excellent and always polite. The Hotel and its rooms were kept impeccably clean. Breakfast was very filling with various options available. We did not use the Bar as it closed a little early and various alternatives were closeby. We paid for a DeLuxe Sea View Room and asked for a high floor which we got (top floor) however this did mean you could hear the movement of Furniture from the Pool above. The entrance to the Hotel is next to fast Food outlets but this does not detract from the Hotel ambiance.. We have family in Malta so go there frequently and have used other highly rated Hotels but in future we will be going for Hotel Juliani

We loved our stay at the hotel Juliani ! We stayed in late November/ early December the hotel was top notch! Beautiful ! the suite (room404) was perfect! Book that suite if you can? The staff were all really nice from reception to catering and housekeeping, and they made our holiday really special! Very Friendly and helpful. There is limited secure parking on site if you have a car but I would say you don’t need one. We hardly used ours! The busses stop right by the hotel. They are cheap frequent and they go to centre of the tourist attractions and towns so you don’t waste time looking for parking. There are Lots of choices of places to stay in Malta! I would 100% recommend this hotel so many things to do locally! All in all a fantastic week!

Very friendly helpful staff members in a hotel that is in a great location - A bus stop right across the road for tourist bus or local bus. Restaurants and bars are close by. Supermarket 5 minute walk.
Soundproofing in the room was top notch and the black out curtains did their job well.
Breakfast was served till 11am each morning and so guests are well spread out so it never felt busy. Great selection on offer and great selection of coffee made to order with freshly squeezed orange juice.
We had a room with a balcony which was great for sitting in the sun in the morning and people watching. Depending on the weather conditions there is sometimes fumes smell from the road on the balcony but the hotel can't do anything about that.
Great hairdryer supplied but small gripe is that there is no plug socket close enough to a mirror to dry your hair. Could put a mirror above the table.
We loved the room decor and very comfy bed and the fridge in the room. Complimentary water provided daily too.
I would definitely recommend

Chesterfield, United Kingdom207 contributions128 helpful votesHi, can anyone advise about getting a Covid test 72 hours before returning back to the UK? Are there any particular website? Proof of the test will be needed before boarding the flight back home - so I'm keen for it to be a reputable tester 😊
Hi - there are places you can get a PCR but they are over £100 close by around St Julian's. You'd be much better off taking a test with you and then doing a video call whilst you're there with the certificate emailed to you. I used Qured for this when I was in Malta in June - if you go on the BA website there is a discount code - they're about £33 each I think. I just booked for a time and then did the test in my room, supervised by the nurse, emailed them the result and I had the certificate within about 2 hours. The hotel will print the letter out for you at reception. HTH!
The pool is quite small - There were shallow steps one end with deeper bit in the middle and a fairly big shallow bit the other end where you might be able to lie in it. I don’t think it was 2m deep and not a pool for swimming lengths - more of a plunge pool to cool off . The rooftop terrace is a lovely area though. I have a picture of it but not sure how to attach this here!
We are pleased to confirm that the Refurbishment works have been completed and we are looking forward to showing you the new Hotel Juliani.
Warmest Regards
