i feel that this hotel is wrongly described as a hotel, its more of a backpackers hostel. our room although very spacious lacked one basic ingredient, A WINDOW which ruined the experience for us. unable to get fresh air into the room. we spent seven nights here and really this was our only gripe. the staff at this hotel are fantastic, we have stayed at many 5 star hotels where the staff have been no where near as good. nothing was too much trouble for them, from the lady who cleaned our room daily to the reception staff to the restaurant staff we can only give them 10 out of 10. the dining room was clean and tidy, breakfast was varied and plentiful although it was pot luck with the sausages which seemed to vary every day, little short spicy ones, long thin ones, fat ones it seemed every day a different type. if you want a quiet relaxing time then this is not the place for you, within 50 yards of the entrance your in the middle of the lively malta club scene, great for the younger set who want to party all night. the small entrance is squeezed between a fried chicken place and an asian restaurant and looks off putting, only 2 small lifts that service all floors and are very slow. the rooftop pool area is actually a lot smaller than the photos appear to show and during our stay the bar wasnt open but its a pleasant area with around 20 sunbeds which during our stay wasnt used by many people. its a suntrap and my wife got sunburnt of our first day up there. would we stay here again? with reservations yes, i would upgrade for a room with a balcony and would be more than happy to visit again. i would have given 5 stars had our room had a window

Hotel, I think it is newly built, located in the most messy area of St Julian's heart of the island's nightlife and surrounded by clubs for all tastes. Very minimalist with small reception but with helpful and nice staff. Rooms not very large but well equipped. Appreciated the comfortable and practical open plan wardrobe. Bed, one double, comfortable. Walls painted with beautiful colors; strange though that, at least our room, had the exposed concrete ceiling and the effect was not the best looking up. Those with balconies, if possible get one, cost more but worth it, overlooking a very busy street. Generally closing the scrolling window reduces the noises a lot. Keep in mind, however, that around this time other buildings are being built and start early in the morning. Rooms redone every day impeccably. The bathroom is equipped with an excellent shower; shame that around the mirror of the sink there is no lighting that gives light on the contrary placed behind the person. Of course there is no bidet and it is always a mess. The pool on the tenth floor is decorative; water 1 meter high and you can not swim. The elevators, there are two, when it's crowded, they're slow. Breakfast, room on the first floor, sweet-savory of excellent standard. There is a balcony where it is nice to do it because you can see the sea. Well served facility with public service. Hotel that for a three star has little to envy to a higher category. Recommended if you love nightlife a few meters away

Booked a holiday through last minute.com and this hotel was part of the deal.
In an area I would not have chosen - my error as I did not really rad up too much about the hotel.
Hotel is in the lively area of St Julian’s. If you are 18 plus then this is the place for you. Bars and clubs and drinking places all on top of each other. We are in our 50’s so not out thing anymore.
Hotel room was clean, and spacious and situated on the 10th floor and we had a hot tub/spa. Shower was lovely. Room decor was decorated like a teenagers bedroom but other than that bed was comfortable. It was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided in a daily basis. There was a mini fridge, hairdryer and safe in our room.
We went to the pool bar and that was a big no no for us. Pool at the time was full of drunk loud Italians who were pissed up. Music was blaring so loud you had to shout to get a beer. Pool looks great in the photos - good photography there but it was the size of a small bath. We avoided going there as we weren’t sure what you were swimming in. Whilst we were there we watched two inebriated blokes in the pool drop their beer in the pool and attempt to smoke fags. Luckily being on the 10th floor the pool area closed at 8pm. This meant that we could use our hot tub and sit in our seating area without all the louts looking down into our balcony area.
Breakfast was OK - nothing special, cakes, coffees, eggs, bacon etc. Sign says do not take food but the Italians choose to ignore that so every morning you would try to get a piece of bread to toast and they would take 20 slices so they could make sandwiches for the day. Staff did not say anything to them and the sign was only in English. Perhaps it needs to be in all languages.
We used this hotel as base to go visit Valletta and did day trips out and we used the pool facilities at the Hilton €50 each which I happily paid as it was nice, calm and relaxing.
The beaches in St Julian’s are unclean and not great. Mostly rubbish, fag butts, empty cans, or they are mostly rocky and if you did find the one with sand it’s packed out. Much better beaches away from this area of Malta.

After a long day of travelling from the depths of rural Norfolk from the Power station, we arrived at IKYK hotel at around 2am and were met by the check-in team who got us swiftly into our room.
As we were pretty knackered we wanted to get some shut eye, but were met with damp bed sheets and a room colder than the arctic - which caused all of us to leave Malta with throat infections - we will invoice you the medical bill.
In the day we wanted to make sure we made the most of the hotel amenities. Such as the Rooftop pool & bar! I would like to request you send me the details of the photographer used as they truly are polishing a turd.
The rooftop pool was around 1m deep and you couldn’t see your feet - I hope that answers any question on cleanliness.
As it was 36 degrees (but felt like 41 degrees) - who wouldn’t want a nice ice cold drink by the pool? I did! But I’ll tell you now, I didn’t get it. The barman was pretty inept & when asked to make Strawberry Daiquiris I feel like he mixed Rum, Water & a red Sharpie.
But, it wasn’t all bad as we found out we had a free bin shoot in our room! Instead of hanging our dirty wet towels on the 0 railings we had in our room we would throw them in the bin shoot, along with other things such as as water bottles, slices of pizza, pizzas boxes & bags of ice - a real nice added touch!
We found a few uses for the kettle - so you might want to chuck that out.
Last but certainly not least is the most outrageous thing I saw in my time on the island of Malta. Instead of ensuring that the people who are entering the hotel are hotel guests, our security guard enjoyed his late nights/early mornings watching porn.
Respect the game, hate the players.
Thank you for a horrible stay IKYK, we will be back.

Response from Robert Borg Millo, General Manager at IKYK Hotel
Responded Jul 31, 2024
Dear Daniel H, Thank you for finding the time to review your stay with us. As noticed the current temperature in Malta is at around 36degrees outside hence if the room was chilled this is because of the good airconditioning that the hotel enjoys. If the room was too cold you could have reduced the temperature from the room controller until the temperture reaches a comfortable level. The rooftop pool is indeed 1 metre deep same as the majority of rooftop pools in hotels, however we are indeed checking with regards to the water clarity over the period you were staying with us in order to establish the cause. Rest assured that several checks on the chlorination are performed daily hence this is not related in anyway to lack of cleanliness. We have also taken note of your remark on the Strawberry Daiquiris which was not served to your liking and apologise for this. We would have been more than pleased to replace if the bartender was informed on the spot giving us a chance to make up for it. The part of the bin shoot we are not really understanding what you are referring to very sorry, whilst the kettle is normally very much appreciated by guests since it's part of our service to provide complimentary tea & coffee making facilities. We cannot therefore take your recommendation to remove from the room. Last but not least, our security staff are of integrity and have denied such an accusation. We have thoroughly investigated the case and no such behaviour was identified when checking our cctv recordings. Notwithstanding all this, we hope that you have at least enjoyed your overall stay in Malta as the review seems more intended to tarnish our good reputation rather than for sharing constructive criticism. With kind regards, Robert

This is a fantastic hotel in San Julian, and I was truly impressed. The location is ideal, just a short walk from beautiful beaches and local restaurants. The hotel is clean and well-organized, making my stay even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights was the lovely pool, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The surrounding area is well-maintained and offers a tranquil atmosphere.
A special thanks to the reception staff, especially Anabelle, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She made the check-in process smooth and provided great recommendations for places to visit.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Malta in a comfortable and welcoming environment!

A nice hotel in itself. We were on the 10th floor. Our room with a whirlpool on the roof was a big plus for us, as the public pool on the roof only partially matches the pictures. It is much smaller than shown. The rooms also look bigger in the pictures but it was completely fine and above all clean!! You know in advance that the hotel is on the party street and if you close your window you can hardly hear the "noise" of the partygoers. The area currently consists of many construction sites. But the hotel can't do anything about that. From our terrace on the 10th floor the view is spoiled by the incredibly littered roofs. The only thing that bothered us was that at 7:30 in the morning the pool area was cleaned with a steam cleaner, which was incredibly loud. The breakfast is very plentiful and the hall very tidy. We would happily recommend the hotel for a short trip like the one we did (Sunday-Thursday). We wouldn't come here for longer stays 🫶🏼🇲🇹

We really enjoyed ourselves. We spent the weekend in Paceville because we wanted to have fun in the neighborhood and the choice of hotel could not be more apt! A stone’s throw from the street with all the best known places (literally 100mt), such as Havana club, footloose, club h that are all on the same street. There is a burger king nearby and opposite there is a well-stocked convenience store. A few steps from the hotel there are also the Tango and Fork pizzeria and the Santini Restaurant that I Recommendation, a small bar (Aloha) and a pharmacy (Potter’s Pharmacy). The fact that it is close to the local street does not mean that you can not sleep at night. It is true that we had a room without balcony, so less exposed, but we heard absolutely nothing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, it is a clean hotel and they provide everything you need. The breakfast was great and rich. If I were to find a defect, I would say that the shower enclosure lacks a Dashboard and therefore wets the bathroom floor, but it is really a minimal thing. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to spend carefree days in Paceville!

Ive just arrived in this hotel and it is definitely up there with one of the worst ive ever stayed in. Don't be fooled by the photos. The room has no natural light because it looks on to a tiny internal courtyard and you can't open the window because of the sound of the elevator up and down all of the time. There is a smell of fastfood in the room from the fastfood restaurant downstairs. You can see the photo of the roof and the courtyard. I asked them to change the room and they were not nice about it at all, Just point blank refused and told me that there was nothing else they could change me to either for tonight or tomorrow night, even though i can see online that there are loads of rooms still available to book. Really really bad. Avoid this place!

Arrived in the early hours of the morning 1.45 Am decent check in,first impression of the room was disappointing as there wasn’t a wardrobe t hang your clothes, room was more like a hostel, Good point on the room was the bed and shower, lots of noise throughout the night as you were in the main bar / party area so you will be woken through the night. The lifts weren’t great and sometimes only one working especially at breakfast time when it was busy , breakfast was decent pretty good selection to suit most people, with balcony for smoking, staff were friendly, next to hotel. Food/Pizza chips etc , if you wanted something a bit more special as you come out of hotel turn left and a few hundred yards away lovely Italian Restaurant called Tango &Fork lovely fresh food and reasonably priced gets busy so you might need to book in advance Hotel is ideal for the younger generation who likes to party it’s beside all the clubs etc About 10 to 15 minutes away is the beach ,there is short walk down lots of steps onto a pebble like beach , recommend you wear some type of footwear to suit we didn’t and was little uncomfortable walking on pebble type beach Would not recommend this hotel for older age group

Just got back from staying at this hotel and we really enjoyed ourselves here.
The rooms are clean and receptionists helpful.
Pool is stunning and the bar food and drinks are really good, occasionally the bar man would get confused by the drinks we’d order from the actual menu which was strange but he was a nice person, just confused by the menu for some reason.
Loads of food choices in the restaurant next to reception and these are tasty!
We had a really quiet room, didn’t hear any noise so unsure why there’s so many complaints.. maybe because we didn’t go in peak season?
We are in our 30s and there was a mixture of ages at the hotel, not everyone wanted to be loud and raging alcoholics. Everyone was just having a good time and enjoying themselves.
One thing we found negative, the lifts! Up and down up and down and up and down, never stopping on our floor, taking forever and then when it finally opened, absolutely full of people
Breakfast has plenty of choice and all cooked well
We didn’t have a balcony or a window and this is really needed because there’s no proper airflow getting into the rooms, so this can make you white poorly but then again grateful I heard no noise whilst staying here
