Hostel Malti is a Backpacker style Hostel conveniently located near the party area of Paceville, Saint Julien's. Also we are only a 5 min walk from restaurants, cafes, shops, pubs, clubs, bars, the sea, buses and much more. We are in the quiet area of Ta' Giorni so you can come home and relax or chill-out on the rooftop. The Hostel architecture is a converted Maltese home dating back some 50 years. The three bright and clean dormitory rooms; Sun, Sea & Sand - are all equipped with free lockers for your luggage, for of peace of mind when you’re out enjoying the day. Well travelled and local staff gives you the opportunity to ask us about any Maltese knowledge or culture to do with our historic archipelago. Did you know... Malta has an average of 299 days of Blue Skies per year. Very few places (if any) can boast such sunshine in Europe. Now, with all these budget airlines flying into our small archipelago, why not book a quick weekend winter break. Come and enjoy our sights and weather in a place created by people who themselves love traveling. Check out our reviews and you will realize that not only do we provide you with a comfortable chill out roof terrace with sea views to relax on, but other areas where you can read your book, use our free Wi-Fi connection to stay in touch with the rest of the world 24/7, while you gently sway on our large terrace swing. Come in and say hi.

I don't even know where to start...I spent two weeks in the beautiful Hostel Malti and I have fallen in love with it. Eszter and everyone working there are awesome, always welcoming and cheerful. You don't have to worry about covid19. The atmosphere is still fabulous. You get to know a lot of open minded and kindhearted travellers. You don't have to be worried about being alone, there is always somebody to help you in any kind of situation.
Thanks a lot! It has been a pleasure staying here. I am sure that I will come back some time, this hostel is too good to turn my back on it.

This is an absolute must place to stay when visiting St. Julian’s. Hostel Malti has the best vibes and atmosphere out there. They offer tours and pub crawls ( which was super fun by the way). The staff members are friendly, helpful and make sure both the rooms and bathrooms are super clean every day. Rooms were great and they have a fridge to keep your food or drinks cold since Malta is super hot which definitely came in handy. The owner stopped by for the day and was extremely nice by telling us stories about why he opened a hostel. The hostel is at the top of the hill so prepare yourself for the hike but definitely worth it. Stay here when visiting St. Julian’s!

We had a booking for two nights but when we arrived at 11.15 pm the room was in horrible conditions. The bed was so old the matras had a U-shape, it was very dirty, the closet was broken, the walls were very dirty and under construction, there was almost no water out of the tap (so also no shower) and there was a power outage in the building (so no light, and no AC). We had a call and a talk with the manager, he didn’t want to give any compensation and didn’t give a refund for the night we didn’t sleep there. We contacted the clientservice of Booking.com for a refund, they tried, and even there he didn’t want to give our money back.

Arrived at the hostel around 3.30pm on 22 October and on calling the number listed on the website, learned I would not have access to my private room until 8pm when a staff member would be at the property. I immediately left to find another accommodation as I wasn't willing to wait 4-5 hours for a room. Now Hostel Malti are ignoring emails and disputing what happened with Booking.com, claiming I had been given access to my private room but was a no-show and refusing a refund. Completely contradicting what happened to avoid giving a refund. Worst customer service ever.

After reading all the good reviews online I decided to give this hostel a try. I can't even begin to explain how sorely disappointed I was.
As a woman, privacy is essential to me. I know staying in hostels means sharing bathrooms, and I'm fine with that. However, I'm not fine with having one unisex bathroom with 2 cubicles, no doors and therefore no place to change. I had to shower and get dressed IN the actual shower, which was inconvenient to say the least.
The shower is one of those where you have to keep pressing it ever minute as it goes off. My take on this is that when you book a hostel, you're paying for a bed and shower, so the least they could do is make the showers more comfortable, because let's face it, there are cheaper hostels with better facilities.
Staff is lovely, but gave me wrong directions twice. The owner can be nicer and more courteous with his staff. The uphill is a killer- just 15 minutes of constant uphill to reach it, and it's not 'seven' minutes away from the clubs but about 20.
The roof is great, I give them that. Done up tastefully and a nice spot to chill out. But again, no sea views as they mentioned, only concrete and cranes due to the heavy construction work that goes on next door. I ended up leaving 3 days earlier and booking in to another hostel.
Won't go back, I'm afraid.

I stayed last week with 3 other friends at Hostel Malti and it was a great experience. we arrived after check in time and I received an email with all the instructions and codes for our self checking few days early. A special note to the care of the manager Darren who was very helpful and friendly with us, including because my friend had her bag misplaced by the airline and he super helped to sort it out. the location of the hostel is excellent and allows you to get to know all parts of the city. super recommend it. :)

Thanks so much to Logan from reception who helped me with so many of my questions and had great suggestions for exploring the islands! Hostel has a nice atmosphere- it's lovely to hang out on the rooftop. Not much atmosphere during the day when the reception area is closed off and dark but everyone is out exploring anyway. Had a great day at Camino- made lots of friends and definitely recommend going!

The colorful paintings, the cleanliness, the comfort and the atmosphere is what makes Malti such an awesome hostel to stay in!! The location is perfect as well as it's just a stone throw away from the beach as well as the bars and clubs - perfect if you want a mixture of relaxation and fun!

Also Darren, the manager, made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during my stay. Upon arrival I was a little nervous as I've never stayed in a hostel solo before but Darren put my mind at ease by talking about his experiences on traveling and gave me loads of advice on where to go around Malta. He also told me about the fun trips that Malti has to offer that sounded really exciting! So, Thank you Darren for being so kind :) and thank you Malti for upgrading my room !

I highly recommend to stay in malti if you're planning to visit Malta ! You won't be disappointed, promise !

Extremely disappointed in the customer service. Pleasant atmosphere but not worth sleeping with cockroaches, especially after paying twice the regular amount for the private flat. The owner's response to us seeing THREE living cockroaches in our room at 3 am was a dismissive/disbelieving look and a snark "you should have called." Walked with our backpacks for 2 hours trying to find replacement accommodations. Finally did so at 5:30 am. Left Hostel Malti two nights early and we were told "IF he sold the room, we would be reimbursed for one night." Mind you, we were friends of a friend. We ended up paying the same amount for a beautiful hotel room WITH air conditioning and WITHOUT cockroaches. Next time, I'll spend more time at Hostel Jones.

Noi avevamo contattato i ragazzi della struttura e loro ci avevano organizzato un transfer e mi pare fossero una ventina di euro in due. Altrimenti puoi prendere l'autobus ed il taxi direttamente dall'aeroporto.
