We had a week at this lovely hotel. The location is I. St Julian’s and a 8-10 minute walk from Spinola Bay which is the heart of St Julian’s . It is right next to the mall which is so convenient for drinks and shopping and even and M&S.

Rooms are clean, beautiful, modern and spacious with enormous showers. Lots of storage in rooms and towels and and toiletries supplied generously (about 12 bottles of toiletries per day) unlike some hotels.

Alessia Is a top notch manager. All rooms have balconies here but on the first night , our balcony was on the small side and I asked to change rooms. He met us the next day to show us the new room which had a balcony 3 times the size.

We had issues with anemergency water cuts during our stay but Alessio did everything to ameliorate the situation and was so incredibly apologetic and offered us complementary breakfast and made sure we were happy.

Staff were so helpful and friendly the entire time.

Christian the head barman is one of the best cocktail masters I’ve come across. All his cocktails looked stunning and tasted great and the prices reasonable from 8-13 euros each. The drinks list is enormous.

Rooftop pool is fantastic. The pool itself is smallish as it’s a rooftop but the area is stunning. We never had a problem getting a sun lounger.

I loved the location, pool, cocktails and staff and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel

Excellent new hotel - high end finish throughout, complimented with superbly attentive & caring staff. I visited for 7 nights & spent two days just purely enjoying the pool(s) & hotel. The rooftop pool is a serene escape & perfect for sunbathing or taking a dip in the pool. A Cocktail bar is also located up there & they do really tasty food too. You don’t even need to leave your sun lounger - staff come to you, take your order & bring drinks / food to you.

St. Julians is a busy part of town, but the hotel is set back away from this, only 1 minute walk & you are right in Paceville.

Rooms are finished to a high spec & the balconies are generously sized, lovely to wake up in the morning & sit out there for 15 minutes with a coffee from the Nespresso machine.

Would recommend to friends wanting to visit Malta - I’d love to return myself one day too.

Stayed here for a long break at the start of September. We were given an upgrade into a wonderfully clean and spacious room (with a complimentary bottle of Maltese wine as well).

Located in the heart of St Julian’s, this hotel afforded us a peaceful stay in an otherwise busy area. It was easy to get to Mdina, Valletta and other sights from the hotel if you wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of Paceville.

The pool area was great but busy. We found that a lot of the sun loungers had been “reserved” with towels and you had to get there early if you wanted to secure a spot. The hotel were quick to pick up on this and stated they would remove towels from beds if people didn’t come up to use them. I believe they’ve had to reduce the number of sun loungers due to COVID restrictions.

We took advantage of the bar on the roof and they served a wide range of food and drinks. It was lovely to watch the sunset and have an ice cold gin and tonic.

The breakfast was delicious (well worth adding this at the time of booking), and the serving staff were top notch. Always smiling and quick to ensure any needs were met. Same goes for the reception staff - they were also fantastic.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Due to my work I travel extensively and spend most of the year working out of hotel rooms so I know a good place when I see one. This is one of the few hotels that 5 star is really 5 star, where the build meets the required standard for 5 star certification has been met.

To start with whilst the hotel is in the busiest part of town, the rooms are perfectly isolated with triple glazing, once the doors are shut, it is as quite as being in the remotest parts of Malta.

The rooms are spacious and the higher floor come with a great view of the area, the bathrooms are well equipped, the shower has an electronic tap so you don’t have to fiddle with thermostats that never maintain a consistent temperature.

The staff were extremely helpful, polite and available at all times, and the basement car park was perfect as it is impossible to find street parking in the area.

This is one of the top hotels in Malta and would highly recommend it.

The staff are very friendly, and the room felt very clean. The beds are very comfortable which is hard to come across sometimes.
My only issue with the beds is that the pillows are feather and we could smell that. Having allergies made this a slight discomfort and we tried to request different pillows but they only had 1 left.
We weren’t really told how to do much but we arrived very late at night so maybe that’s why. We figured most stuff out on the last day sadly like how to order room service/where to find the menu.
The Hyatt app is very useful and a really cool tool so I recommend downloading it during your stay, it allows you to request stuff to your room and use your phone as your room key so you never have to carry a card around with you. That being said it only worked for one of us.
Also, the tv is a very nice size and amazing quality picture. We didn’t use it much but it was great in the evenings before bed or in the mornings while getting ready.
The wardrobe is open with no doors which can look a bit messy honestly but that’s not really an issue I suppose. There is a mini fridge which was empty but was really a generous size to keep anything we purchased from supermarkets in.

The rooftop pool is beautiful, very comfy sunloungers too. You get your towels at the pools which is handy so you don’t need to carry a towels from your room.
The music is maybe a bit too loud at the rooftop pool but I think that’s personally me not liking loud noise and wanting to listen to my own music. You can order food and drinks at the rooftop pool and they’re very friendly and accommodating, always happy to change things or personalise.

The indoor pool was quite busy with nowhere to lie most times which is a shame. Although it is open super late so we did go for a midnight swim and it was almost empty at that time, which isn’t a surprise.

We didn’t get breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that, because there’s so many great places to eat that we wanted to try. The hotel is in a great location, right next to a shopping centre and also very close walking distance to St Julian’s which I would recommend going for the best restaurants and beautiful dinner views.

Overall, we really like this hotel and I would go back. I’ve mostly mentioned things the hotel should improve on but they’re just minor things that I am picky about.

At very short notice I booked a flight to Malta. Given that I didn’t fancy sharing the island with masses of tourists in the summer, I decided to book an off season stay this January to explore the country for my first time.

The Hyatt proved the perfect base for what became an incredibly relaxing and chilled break. The hotel was spotless and in a great location. Front desk staff were helpful and housekeeping standards were very high. You could walk to St Julian’s in about 10mins and Sliema in about 30 mins.

I used the indoor pool in the Spa most mornings and was usually the only on in there. Once again, everything down there including water, towels etc. was well stocked and the area was clean an well presented.

I also stepped out of my comfort zone and used the local buses several times on my trip. The stops were close by and it was a flat €1.50 for anywhere within two hours, so great for getting to Valetta (Especially when the ferry was suspended) or Mdina.

The hotel is also close to a small shopping complex that was handy for snacks from stores such as M&S Food. Eeetwell did great take away salad bowls too.
The hotel will also arrange taxi’s to the airport for €22 which can be added to your bill so save messing around with cash.

Thank you also to Valentina and Daniel for getting additional pre-arrival information to me.

Malta in the off season proved to be so rewarding that I’m considering returning every year for a post-Christmas de-stress and if I do, Hyatt will certainly be my go to hotel.

The Hyatt is brand new, opened in October 2020. Our room with view had a balcony. Bathroom was properly separated by a solid door to the sleeping area. Great Waterfall Shower, and special LED Lights to keep you safe at night, without the need to turn on the main lights.

Enormous Flatscreen TV, Nespresso and Tee/Hotwater in Room. One minor flaw, regarding the bathroom - the door to the shower did not keep back the water ...so flooding of the bathroom floor was unavoidable. I am sure, Hyatt will be fixing this soonish. Nevertheless, Room Service provided us with enough towels on our request.

Breakfast was served in a beautiful setting in the Seed restaurant. Due to COVID, no Buffet was offered, but a good variety of Breakfast items a la cart was available. Choice and level of music might be changed to a bit more decent selection.

Hospitality in general was awesome. We felt very welcome and secure.

The Outdoor Pool on Floor 11 had a great 360 Degree View, but is not heated. The Indoor Pool is heated. A Gym is available.

Overall - a great place to stay at in Malta.

I’m not usually one for writing reviews but felt this one was warranted.

We were welcomed into the hotel by two members of staff who checked us in and informed us they had upgraded our high floor room to the a suite which was a great surprise. They clearly explained the hotel facilities and introduced us to the concierge for any tips during our stay.

Housekeeping was on top form, keeping everything fresh as we needed it and remembering my preferred Nespresso pod.

The only downside I found to the hotel was the small pool and poolside area, it was fine during our off-peak stay however I’m unsure how well it will work during the height of summer. Regardless, this isn’t something I would knock down the rating for.

Hotel is clean, in good condition and what you would expect from a Hyatt. Mostly. However many rooms are uninhabitable from around 7:30 when the local building work starts and no mention of this was made on booking or check in or in fact until I complained.

Do NOT book taxis through the hotel, their service is unreliable and costs almost double the local Bolt service (download the app, its like Uber).

Eat out, the menu in the Seed restaurant (corridor) is limited and the menu doesn't change but breakfast is pretty good.

Dear andygreen2022, I thank you for your contribution and for highlighting the construction occurring around the hotel. We are disheartened to read that these disturbances impacted your stay to the detriment of our hotel's good name and the services we provide. We do sincerely apologise also for the issue with transportation by which the hotel has taken corrective action with the said company to ensure such behaviour does not repeat itself. Really nice new hotel. Great pool area on 11th floor with comfortable loungers and good (soft) music. Room had some thoughtful touches (padded headboard at correct level to lean back on when sat up watching TV). Bathroom luxurious and toiletries good quality. Coffee machine in room was a life saver and they even gave me some fresh milk to make proper tea with. The staff were some of the best I’ve come across in hotels having travelled extensively. Proactive and friendly - I felt they really did want to be there and help. Highly recommended (in fact I already have to friends). Looking forward to my return.

Hi Deborah, I travel to Malta almost every month, for work. I would not recommend St Julian's as a place to stay but this is my personal opinion. I definitely prefer to stay in Valetta. Saying that, if you want to stay by the see, I would recommend the Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa or The Westin Dragonara instead.
