Detailed Reviews
+ Very good location, close to bus stops, bars, shops
+ Clean rooms
+ Good design of the beds
+ Nice staff
- I had two reservations in this place, for two periods of time. I wrote them an email with information that I won't be able to come there to spend my first night from my second reservation and I asked if it could be refundable. They wrote me back that no, it cannot be refundable (for me it was ok, it was my bad) but then when I came there to spend the second, last night from my second reservation they told me my reservation is not valid anymore because I didn't show for the first night! Finally they let me stay (very much thanks... ) but in email they wrote me, there was NO INFORMATION that if I won't spend my first night there, then my WHOLE reservation will be cancelled. They told me this is standard procedure in every hotels in the world and for me it would be ok if they would write me this information in email they wrote me back! So - they knew I will not show for the first night but they didn't tell me that in this situation my WHOLE reservation will be cancelled because of this. For me this is unfair treatment. So I cannot be very grateful that they finally let me stay there for another night...
- Poor breakfast, no vegan food, if you are vegan you would eat only bread

Six of us girls stayed in a 6 bedroom dorm for 2 nights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we did have a few problems. Our lights and heat went out in our room several times and we had to go to the front desk repeatedly to get them to fix it. We had a broken shower door and some ants on the walls in the shower (still were able to shower just fine). The place was cute and had lots of common spaces where people would just hang out. The free breakfast was toast and cereal. Cool location, right by the seaside. Maybe would stay in Sliema if you're looking to go to Valletta because the ferry leaves from Sliema. Overall good stay for the value (only $16 per night per person).

A very comfortable hotel with gorgeous views, good location and helpful staff. The breakfast is a very good continental. We had some problems with the shower and toilet whilst we were there which reduces the facilities in the 12 bed room but there are toilets available in public spaces in the hostel. Aircon and fans were controllable in the room which is helpful and new towels after 3 days. The pool was warm even in October.
The people here during my stay were very friendly, I stayed for a week and I everyone was chatty and friendly- I came here to meet my friends during my solo travel trip and wished I came alone!
This is a lovely hostel and thoroughly recommend

From the outside this place looked great! However, the staff here (one guy in particular) was terrible, unhelpful and rude.
I told him my lamp was broken, and asked for a new one. He laughed at me and said no we don't have spare lamps and suggested I take the one from the bed above me. When I tried to I realised they were ALL broken.
I also asked for a spare pillow (and offered to pay more) due to breathing problems and he told me it's one pillow only per person, and that they were fully booked. A blatant lie, as the two other beds in our dorm were empty during the entire 4 days we were there.
Also, he lied. He told me I could get a fresh towel every day, and when I went to get a clean one the next morning a different staff member told me this was incorrect... do any of them know what's going on? I suspect not. Overall, we didn't love our stay here and Marco Polo hostel is only 10min walk away and far better service! :)

Stayed in room 208 for 3 nights.
The room had 6 bunks, A/C, two fans, a table, some chairs and plenty of room. Each bunk comes with a locker underneath the bottom bunk. It was large enough to fit even a large backpack. Each bunk had privacy curtains, private light, two sockets, a very thin sheet to use as a blanket. One of the two sockets is used for private light though. The mattress was soft. Too soft for my personal tastes, but it was okay for 3 nights. In the room, the A/C is only on from I think 7am to 7pm. Guests (including myself) have to ask more than once for it to be turned on, which is annoying. There is limited AC around the hotel and the common areas are uncomfortable to stay around.
The bathroom was private, but not ensuite and in a room opposite the dorm. In the bathroom was a WC and two showers. It was okay in terms of cleanliness, but the silicone had mould and really needed to be replaced. There's also not much ventilation, so expect to get hot and sweaty after a shower. Water pressure was okay and no problem getting hot water.
Breakfast was included and there's a buffet with cooked food, choices of cereal, tea, coffee and juices. The cooked food includes scrambled eggs, baked beans and bacon. The breakfast was varied enough for a 3 night stay.
WiFi is available throughout the hotel, although it's unsecured. It works well.
The hotel is located close to Balluta Bay and approximately the middle of a hill. I've only tried getting to Valletta via the ferry and it's about a 15-20 minutes walk to the port. The hostel has several common areas including a pool, kitchen and a large dining/lounge space. However, none of these areas are air conditioned.
Overall I had a decent stay. The location is average, the breakfast is good, the rooms and bathrooms need a refresh, but the lack of A/C makes the place unbearably hot.

Abundant breakfast: I was informed that it was not possible to have vegan alternatives, but in reality I found both soya, oat and almond milk, as well as fruit in syrup, jams, fruit juices, wholemeal bread to toast, cereals, coffee espresso and tea. I was in a room for 12 guests which had 4 showers and 2 bathrooms, a comfortable bed and pillow and a nearby electrical socket. Clean and welcoming structure, both in the external areas (pool area and breakfast area) and in the internal ones (rooms, common areas with sofas and tables). The possibility of using the kitchen and dishes is appreciated and also the possibility of storing food both in the fridge and in personal transparent boxes. The location is good, a few meters from the sea and the bus stop and a 15/20 minute walk from the casino and clubbing area of San Julian. The use of earplugs is essential, both because there are inevitably those who snore, but also due to the presence of roosters nearby who begin to crow at dawn. The breakfast is varied and from the reviews from a few years ago I read that it has been improved in the last period and considering that it is included in the price it cannot be evaluated negatively, but if there was also fresh bread and fresh fruit it would be the best. If you have a small padlock and an adapter for the English socket it is a good idea to bring them, otherwise you will have to buy them there (the price is honest in any case). Perfect Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Inhawi is chock-full of digital nomads and students; what this means is that there are a LOT of people staying here long-term, which in turn means that it has a kind of small community / uni atmosphere. The hostel itself is in a brilliant location; the building is beautiful, with big open spaces. It's also super clean and has a really nice kitchen with three (very full!) refrigerators where guests can store food. I would *very* highly recommend getting a room upstairs, as the kitchen / common area gets quite boisterous at night, with people staying up and drinking until the wee hours of the morning. Due to the acoustics, rooms which are right off of the common area are inundated with the laughter and talking of late-night partiers. With a friendly staff, great complimentary breakfast, and clean rooms (and smart layout), I'd stay here again... I would just choose a room which would allow for better sleep.

I loved staying at Inhawi hostel because the place was very clean, colorful, big and cozy. The staff was amazing as well, always happy to help. Staying at the hostel comes with free wifi and free breakfast, which is very nice. There is plenty of food to choose from. You can also have the option to pick a box and fill it with food bought in the supermarket. Very useful if you want to make your own lunch or dinner. One thing I'll definitely remember are the blanket forts everyone made from their beds during my stay. I thought it was funny.

Came to Malta once for a football game 4 years ago and booked into a hotel. I’ve been back 7 times.
Not only is this island just intoxicating but this hostel is unreal!
Book the penthouse room, you won’t be disappointed.
Sitting in that kitchen with the roof open, cooking food and drinking some beers is honestly memories that will never leave me.
Exceptional place!

Very bad staff, it's incredible how these people work at this hostel and why they even got hired, but the manager was a nice and polite person. However, I think she used the staff as her flying monkeys to harm me. The staff welcomes everyone and instructs them on everything, but when it comes to me, the staff gatekeeps and avoids speaking to me and only has contempt for me. Everyone in this hostel filed complaints about me, excluded me, and made my stay a living hell/mental asylum because they thought I was going to attack someone in the rooms.

You need to book this. You can ask the hostel to do it for you, or just go to the taxi desk in the airport which is just as you walk out, ask for a taxi to st julians, this will cost you 20 euro (same as hostel price)
