At the ned of it all…WOW! I will preface this review with a frustration with lack of communication the days prior to our arrival but once things were sorted out the experience as a whole was fantastic We booked 3rd party and I would not recommend it. Transfer is not included and once paid the cost was about the same. This is also where most of the communication frustration started. The other thing we would do differently is stay in Coron the night if you have a late arrival and then transfer to the resort so you have time to enjoy all the resort has to offer. Be aware that the main source of communication on the island/resort is via Viber or WhatsApp. There are phones in the room but it was easier to message for a buggy or housekeeping from the app. We were welcomed by a team that was impressive. It reminded me of the old show Fantasy Island… We stayed in the Tuscany villa which was beautiful. A welcome gift of hand made chocolates, fruit plate and champagne was a special treat. There were a few things that could be improved on. We had wanted to eat at a specific restaurant and even though we requested a reservation there was no chef to prepare a meal for us. Some of the property needs maintenance over all a great experience.

The place is amazing. It provides an excellent escape and sanctuary from the busy life in the Metro. More than the beautiful landscapes and sceneries, the resort’s amenities are well-equipped to cater to our needs. What we also loved most is the commendable customer service. The hospitality that they showed us, from the moment we docked up to our departure, was top-notch. Sir Marlon Ahorro also assisted us all throughout the day tour. It was an unforgettable experience and we would love to really visit again and stay longer this time.

We stayed at Sunlight for 2 nights and decided to have our wedding renewal celebration here with our family. The island itself is beautiful and the setting is magnificent. The staff were very friendly and made every effort to make our special day memorable. I want to specifically mention Noren who was just amazing! She made our whole event special by making sure everything we needed was provided and she made sure all the decorations and entertainment was great! Noren is a credit to this company and if you ever need anything done with special attention then make sure you ask for her. She was simply amazing!

Our experience at Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort was a mix of highs and lows. Initially, we encountered difficulties reaching them as our calls went unanswered for several days before we finally booked our stay via Agoda. Although the rate was attractive at 7500 php for one night, there was a lack of clarity regarding additional expenses, and attempts to contact them for clarification were unsuccessful. Upon arrival at the island, we were disappointed to find that we received minimal information about the resort's offerings. The staff primarily communicated through WhatsApp or Viber, which posed a challenge for us as we didn't use these apps. Instead of providing alternative means of assistance, the staff seemed flustered, unprepared and it just seems like they don’t care. The Front Office told us that we could book a buggy and a guide to give us a trip around the island, but when we tried to book it the following day, the front office told us that we should just borrow a bike from them and then take the trip ourselves - which we did, but still no information about what we could do on the island. It felt like the FO’s didn’t care about us. So unprofessional! We did book to stay another night for around almost 16k php as we did enjoy the lovely Island. But on our last evening, one of the lowest points was when we were denied access to Mangrove restaurant due to a group event, despite not being informed about it beforehand. After expressing our concerns, we were eventually accommodated, but it was clear that the stuff at Mangrove were unaware of the situation, highlighting communication issues within the resort. They welcomed us and found a table very fast. Despite these challenges, our stay did have moments of beauty and relaxation. But it could have been way better if we were prepared to pay a lot of extra money for a trip there and also having a management and a Front Office that thinks for themselves, not needing to ask their manager that then needs to ask their manager. It is tiresome and frustrating. We would like to extend our gratitude to Harlem from Mangrove restaurant for his exceptional service. He is very very sweet and caring about his guests. He really took us in his hands when we were very frustrated. And to Tatay for his assistance during snorkeling activities. Generally all the people who’s not working in the front office are very very sweet people and exceptional which made our stay enjoyable - shout out to them! Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort has the potential to be a fantastic destination, but our experience has left us hesitant to return and support the resort in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The exclusive island hopping tour is wonderful. The Mangrove resto offers big servings, the KBBQ was yummy!! Will definitely be back!! Our villa is so beautiful, you can see the ocean on our villa floor. We also enjoyed our swedish massage in the Sanctuary Spa.

This is the most beautiful destination we have ever been. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful, and they really want to make sure you feel like you are exclusively catered to on the island. The island hopping and snorkeling is something you absolutely cannot miss. It's a magical experience. The food is outstanding. Of the many restaurants, don't miss Mangrove. If you want the best filipino food ever, Mangrove has it. The villas are just absolutely perfect. There are literally too many amazing things to say about this place, and because of that, we will definitely make this an annual destination from now on.

Nestled away on its own private island, 45 minutes away from the nearest town, Coron, is this gem of a resort. We were very lucky in that we visited during the low season, where we had absolute tranquility, and relaxation from the crowds, as there were only 16 occupants on the island during our visit. We had booked one of their honeymoon suites, with the glass floors throughout the entire unit and balcony. Wow is all we can say. Without a doubt, the SETIR is perfectly situated, with beautiful views of crystal, clear, blue waters and ocean life. Really, it is a view only one can imagine on Instagram. Because of its location, it is the only resort on the island, and all the business you do is done with the hotel. While we did find everything to be appropriately priced, I think a much better option, given its remote location, is it to be fully all inclusive. Of course, that takes away, the luxury of choice, but I imagine it would help with some of the sticker shock some travelers may find with the pricing of the resort. Without a doubt, we do anticipate to return to this resort in the near future. They are currently expanding, with a suite option with the glass ocean floor, and access to the waters below. Of note, we did the multi island day tour, and were absolutely floored by the beauty of the entire region. We highly recommend this, especially through the hotel, as their speedboat is able to take you to all the major destinations, quickly, and efficiently.
