At a very affordable price of PHP500/night, we have the whole large hut for ourselves! The hut is also overlooking the river, you can hear the river while sleeping which is so peaceful..

Another thing is that you can try the KAWA bath, which is a unique experience. Also try the river kayaking for raw experience..

Thumbs up to the care-takers as they are really helpful and accommodating!

I stayed a few days at Kayak Inn in a nipa hut by the rivers and immersed myself not only at their hot kawa baths but also availed of their white water river kayaking. I also did the trek to Bugtong Bato waterfalls, the rice terraces, the local pottery shop and the fish spa with their guide. Kayak Inn offers a complete package with competent and knowledgeable staff.

The Kayak Inn was our first stop in Antique. After a 5-hour trip from the point of entry in Iloilo City, the Inn was a welcome sight. The place is the take off point for the trek to the Bugtong Bato Falls, itself a lovely destination. The accommodations are huts made of bamboo and nipa, and will give you a taste of the typical rural life in the Philippines. While there is a bathroom with running water, do not expect hotel amenities for you will definitely not find that here. Nonetheless, the feel of the place is oneness with nature, and living a simple life. For the huts are in a forested area, and just beside the river. The only sounds you hear are the rustling of the trees, the chirping of birds, and the soothing flow of the river. The highlight of course, would be the kawa hot bath, which is taking a dip in a cauldron with water heated over a hot fire, with fragrant herbs. While lying down in the warm water, your view is the sky and the tops of the trees which is very relaxing. Truly a wonderful experience which cannot be missed when in Tibiao, Antique.

This is my first ever review and I write it sadly after having wonderful experience in Tibiao, exploring Bugtong Bato falls and my first kawa experience. However in the middle of the night I was awoken by a local man coming into my bungalow. Thankfully I scared him away and nothing happened, however it was very scary. The family at Kayak Inn were very supportive the next day and the whole community was keen to find the man and help resolve the situation. Apparently nothing like this has happened since 1996. However as a solo traveller I think it is important for other females to be aware of what happened in order to take extra caution as this man has not yet been identified.

Kayaking is fun & thrilling. The kawa bath is relaxing and best for photoshoot. We took the kayak & kawa bath package of 1000/person. Also visit the Bugtong Bato falls - you need to pay 150pesos for a local tour guide and 50pesos/person entrance fee, be ready to walk for about an hour but definitely the falls is worth the walk.

Staffs are friendly and they can serve home-cooked meal for 250pesos good for two person. However, the kubo hut is not well-maintained and the price is too expensive for the amenities (1600/night). Never forget to bring mosquito repellant lotion with you, apply this before arriving the inn. Bring snacks to avoid starving yourself.

Travel from Iloilo City takes about 6hours (200pesos bus fare per person, 70 habalhabal ride), it takes about 3hours from Caticlan (82pesos bus fare per person, 70 habalhabal ride).

We went to Kayak inn during the rainy season, so the road was very muddy and slippery. We had to rent some motorcycles to get up the mountain side track. Good news is they were already in the process of paving the road so hopefully in the coming years going up there would be easier. I suggest going there in the summer. In the rainy season they don't allow kayaking because of the the strong current. The cottages ar very simple. There's no need for airconditioning or fans, as the air in the mountainside is quite cool. An interesting feature they have are their Kawas. Kawas are old steel vats used to mix molasses from the sugarcane fields. The kawas are used as hot tubs. They are heated in a peculiar way, by lighting a fire directly underneath the kawa. Surprisingly the water is just right, not too hot as it would appear. They serve food, but the food is a home cooked meal prepared by the caretaker. Not much of a choice there since there no establishments near the area. Bugtong Bato falls was a few kilometers away, just a light trek on a walking path that goes through a small settlement and some rice fields. The trek Gets challenging towards the end, near the falls. You can swim in at the bottom of the falls and climb up via a rope to the top of the waterfall where you can also swim. Overall the place is quite an adventure.

Coming from Kalibo Jetty port, it's about 2-hour bus ride and a good 30-45 minute habal-habal ride to Kayak Inn. You'll be staying in a nipa hut by the river while being surrounded by tall trees. There will be no electricity supply come 6pm so be sure to fully charge your gadgets by then. The sound of the flowing waters in the river is so relaxing, and the wind is so cold you wouldn't need an electric fan for a goodnight sleep! However, make sure to put on insect repellents to avoid getting your sleep disturbed by insect bites. You can ask the inn owner to cook for your meals, but make sure you tell them early so they could buy the ingredients at the market before it closes. Try their kawa hot bath after taking a hike to Bugtong Bato falls!

Kayak Inn located in Tibiao Antique is place to see where in you can experience a kawa hot bath, kawa means a big iron pot used for cooking for big events and fiestas, but this time the owner used it as a hot spa. From Kayak Inn in Tibiao, there are a lot of things to do and the places are only connected like kayaking in Tibiao Tibiao, Tibiao Falls and it is also near the Malalison Island known as the Batanes of the Visayas. From Molo Terminal, Iloilo City ride a bus or van gping to Tibiao and fare is p150 to p200 pesos per pax, tell the driver to drop you off at Kayak Inn and in the corner you could see single motorbikes that will take you there for p70-p100 per pax, tourism fee of p50 and the kawa hot bath per person fee ranges from p250 to p350, other activities like kayaking and going to the falls has a different fees, going back to Iloilo City there are vans, jeep and buses that passes the street where you drop off, just a tip, negotiation skills can help you save a bit.

Kawa hot bath is a must when you visit Antique because its very relaxing. And the amazing river/mountain view added a more relaxing feeling while you’re doing the hot bath. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Very affordable!
For improvement: innovate, put some swing or tables, etc.

I don't exactly know this as an inn-- when we were here the 25th of June, we came for the kawa bath and the kayak experience....

The people were easy to talk to-- cost break down (in total-- including our other destination, the zipline place)--was as follows:
1) single (motorcycle) ride from the crossing to the spots we went to and back was 140php per motorcycle-- the rate was the same for one to to passenger rides-- helmets not allowed (hahahahah)
2) "entrance fee for non-residents" was 50php per head (an Official Receipt was issued for this by the MTO -- I guess the Municipal Tourism Office of Tibiao)
3) zipline ride was 350php per head-- nice! great view...-- compared to the baby zipline ride offered at the Quezon Memorial Circle-- the ride was great value for money
4) we paid for both the kayak ride and the bath at the kawa place: for the kayak we paid 20php for the single (motorcycle) ride to the kayak starting point and 700php for each kayaker and for the bath they charged a total of 750php-- 6 of us took a bath, 4 in kawas for two, and 2 in a solo kawa each...
-- we got thirsty and bought a 1.5L Coke... they charged us 70php and lent us drinking glasses (I think it was a fair price)

the burning of wood and stuff was mostly for picture taking as the water had just the right temperature (you won't get burned or cooked), but you can insist that they have the burning stuff all the way through the bath... the Ates who put flowers and stuff on/in(?) the kawas were all very nice.

I didn't join the boys on their kayak adventure but they told me that the voyage to the kayak starting point was a bit steep and there weren't enough hold-on-ables.... maybe they could work on this for safety... they had some bumps and very light bruising when they hit boulders or when their kayaks tipped over but these weren't much of an issue... quite simply it was part of the adventure...

We skipped the trip to the falls as we were told that there was a 30 minute trek involved.... we should've gone...

Hi! I think it's possible, but you'll have very limited time. When we went here by commute, it took us 2 hours of bus ride plus 30-45 minutes of habal-habal (motorcycle) ride.

It's better if you have a car. You're only forced to rent a habal habal when it rains. It's best to go during the summer so you can bring the whole family
