Check in employee was abrupt and stand offish. However other staff I had interacted with were lovely.

The room was very outdated. 80% of the channels on the TV didn’t work, we were only given two towels when we had three people on the reservation, the bathroom smelt like cigarette smoke which was very gross as we had our baby with us, bed was very uncomfortable, couch looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years, the room servicing was very irregular - one day we had our bed made & new towels, second day no bed made but we had new towels and room still had rubbish in it. Going off that there was actually no bin provided apart from the one in bathroom.

The amenities are very limited, parking is not allocated and a lot of people who don’t stay at the hotel park in the parking lot. So if you’re staying there over a weekend and don’t want to park underground, make sure you arrive before 5pm and don’t leave until the next day. Check the opening times of the kitchen as we went down just after 9am for breakfast and got told they were not taking food orders, only coffee. Also, you will get charged an extra $5.50 as a delivery fee if you order room service.. Going off that their prices are not cheap, a bottle of water is $5!

My recent stay at the Metro Perth Hotel was deeply disappointing due to significant service failures and the staff's inadequate response to unforeseen issues.

While I acknowledge that the power and water supply failure on December 2nd may not have been directly within the hotel's control, the response to this crisis was severely lacking. There was a complete absence of electricity and water from the evening of December 2nd until 7 p.m. the next day, creating a challenging situation for guests. During this time, I found myself climbing 10 floors multiple times to fetch drinking water and seek information, an extremely inconvenient and stressful ordeal.

As a business traveler with a critical conference on December 3rd, the absence of basic amenities like shower facilities severely impacted my preparation. The hotel's solution, offering shower facilities at a different location, was both delayed and insufficient. This lack of proactive support and problem-solving reflects poorly on the hotel's customer service.

Furthermore, I encountered an issue with no hairdryer in my room. The response from the staff was not timely, forcing me to rely on the goodwill of another guest, which was both embarrassing and unprofessional. Although a portable hairdryer was eventually provided, it was too late to rectify the inconvenience caused.

The cumulative effect of these service failures, especially in a situation that demanded prompt and effective solutions, was highly disappointing. The hotel's inability to provide alternative solutions or adequate compensation for the lack of essential services was notable.

While external factors like power and water outages can be beyond a hotel's control, the measure of their service quality is reflected in how they respond to such crises. Unfortunately, Metro Perth Hotel's response was woefully inadequate, significantly impacting my stay and professional commitments. I would advise business travelers and those expecting reliable service to consider other accommodations.

Over all enjoyed our stay , Rooms are getting dated but a good size and fully functional and clean . Bed was comfy and magic views from the balcony . Only disappointment was the food for room service , especially the pizza , cold soggy bottom , clearly just put under the grill to melt cheese . We will use this accommodation again as the location is good and good value .

Pleasantly surprised by the updated refurbishment. I returned after years to the Metro as it was very convenient for me. I had an executive room 315 which was very clean and had an Outlook via huge door to a restricted balcony to Banksia St side street and the sunset by evening. I returned the next night to room 317 which had a very welcome balcony which overlooked the and City skyline- and amazing sunset. The room very spacious with coffee machine and tea provided. The usual iron, hair-dryer etc. Bathroom very clean with hot water and was spacious. Bed was most comfortable. Dinner room service was delicious and came hot. Breakfast can be ordered in room for small service fee or dine in. The best was free parking on site. I cannot fault the friendly welcoming and very helpful staff. Big thank you to them.

Hotel is well placed for trips to city (5mins by car), Curtin University (5mins), beautiful parks and walks along the Swan River (walking distance) nd 5mins from Como where you can buy groceries, visit Perth Zoo or enjoy the many dining venues.

The venue itself is dated and would benefit from a good clean. Dusty architraves and vents in bathroom, and windows in the rooms (ours was an apartment facing Canning Highway) do not open. There is no fresh air flow whatsoever. The rooms are cleaned each day but attention to minor details is lacking.

Staff welcoming and friendly. I needed to report a few concerns including bees getting in through an overhead cupboard but never received a response from management which was disappointing. We had to deal with it ourselves.

Great value hotel! It’s not a central city location but that is reflected in the nightly price and it’s only a short Uber ride into the city or to the airport. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and we had the most amazing views of the city from the balcony. The staff are friendly and the room service breakfast was perfect. Great value for money here.

Toilet was pre used on arrival (#2), dirty face washer in bathroom, electrical cables handing out of the wall, rude staff, needle crack head porn in search history on tv, hardcore porn had been searched on YouTube and wifi did not work. By far the worst part was the staff. Rude and tried to make me pay late checkout although I had a booking that night because I refused to stay another night. Total amount was $100 on this trumped up charge which is the exact amount of the bond and when I refused staff member told me I wasn’t allowed to collect my belongings.

Would not recommend. The clerk behind the desk was rude and cut me off. They were not friendly and welcoming, but instead grumpy and rude.
They take a $100 deposit (not just card details like most hotels) and then they say you won't have your money returned to you for minimum 7-10 working days (it can take longer apparently).
Breakfast meal is include, but restaurant closes at 9am, so I can't comment on the food as we got down there a little after 9am (thinking it would close at 10am at the earliest, like most breakfast places).
