My room was supposed to be a deluxe room, but only the size was 'deluxe'. I had no hot water in the shower room, the toilet did not have a seat or lid cover, the hand held shower hose came off of the heater unit, an electrical socket was hanging waywardly away from the wall. Housekeeping will only clean upon request. The location is very good, near department stores and a variety of restaurants.

I stayed at the Asia Novo for almost 3 weeks, during a very difficult time for me, and I felt blessed that I had chosen this hotel for the airfare package it came with. The staff was young and always polite, but beyond that, they were caring. -- I left some money out as a tip for the maids, but they didn't touch it until I left a note with it saying that it was for them. I forgot the note one day, and they didn't touch the money. So when you leave a tip for the maids, leave a note with it. -- As the other review said, one asks to have one's room cleaned, and it includes fresh linen and towels, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, and shampoo (The toothbrush is the "weak link" here). It is a budget hotel, and the facility is not as shiny and elegant as U.S. travelers might be used to, but it's basically clean and casual. The shower comes with a tankless water heater that actually works. The rooms have individual air conditioning units which also work. Breakfast was 100 pesos brought to the room ($1.89 in Nov. '18), and included a choice of meat, an egg, rice, and coffee or Milo (hot chocolate). They cooked the yolk solid for my delicate U.S. digestive system. There's a hot and cold bottled water dispenser. Snacks, coffee, and cold beer are available at the desk. Breakfast is the only meal offered, but as far as I can tell, it's available any time. -- This hotel is under sort of "new management," having changed some staff after a past when its reputation wasn't quite so good. (Apparently the insertion of "Boutique" into its name was done to reflect the change.) Now, I would rate this this place better than most of the budget hotels I've stayed at in the U.S., and the staff much better. When I return to Ozamiz, as I expect to in a year or so, I will be staying at the Asia Novo Boutique hotel. Disclaimer: I chose the hotel with no prior knowledge of it, but by the time I left, I felt that I had formed some friendships among the staff. I hope that this doesn't disqualify this review.

Took a "Deluxe" room. Still just a basic queen size bed hotel room. Paid listed walk-in price of 800pesos. Other rooms available are family rooms. Stayed for four days. Has an elevator but was often out of service. Has WiFi but the signal was week in my first room. After a day, I ask to change to one closer to the WiFi. Hotel agreed without a problem. Most rooms seem to get a bit of road noise. Had to ask for cleaning, but when I did, they did a great job. Full cleaning including linen change. Staff was always friendly and helpful. No issues or problems. A good, budget, clean place to stay. Overall a good experience given the low budget price. I paid 150peso to get to/from the airport/hotel using a trike. Hotel is just across the way from a Mang Inasal branch (Filipino fast food BBQ).
