Hidden Valley is a secluded spot wedged between two mystical mountains rich in folklore. It is a place blessed with nature's invigorating gifts of water, flowers, trees, and inspiring scenery. Located some 75 kilometers South of Manila, the Valley brings refreshingly modern changes as well as quaint touch of the past. Hidden Valley Springs Resort is a mere one and a half hour drive from Manila, snaking to Calauan, via Alaminos, Laguna, just behind Mount Makiling. Its main feature is a body of waterfalls, natural spring and pools. Be ready to dip in the cool waters, constantly flowing from the mountaintop, said to be rainfall accumulated through the years. There is also a warm, natural spring pool and a soda pool.

We arrived shortly after 12 just in time for lunch on a Thursday. The food consisted of tasty Philippine entrees and desserts. The entrance fee is over 2500 PHP per person so it is not a cheap place to visit if there are a lot in your party. At the time we visited, their credit card system was not working so we had to come up with A LOT cash! Luckily we just had enough for all of us.

The pools are still beautiful and clean however the temperature is not as hot as I remember. I heard it was due to a new geothermal power plant that was installed in Laguna. The water is however still pristine and feels like you are bathing in bottled water. The foliage around the pools are still incredible - and old growth jungle which made you feel like you were in Jurassic Park. The very old giant tree is no longer and was toppled by a storm about a decade ago.

There are a total of 5 pools to choose from with the first being the warmest. Lover's pool is the furthest and most private, however also the coldest.

Past the last pool you can walk less than 10 minutes to a beautiful raging waterfall (highly recommended!). There is a guide that will help you down the steps to the falls - careful cause the rocks could be slippery... For those strong swimmers, you can swim to the waterfall and stand on a shelf to the left of the falls and have someone take some great pictures!

Save energy for the walk back to the restaurant to have your afternoon meal or 'merienda' before leaving. The meal includes Philippine delicacies, although I don’t think they serve the fresh cocoa hot chocolate anymore.

Overall, still as beautiful as I remember. Just wished the springs was still as hot as I remembered.

For me, the only chlorine-free pool resort I like going back every summertime because of its spring water, big old trees, fresh smell of leaves and flowers with lots of falls plus you don't get sunburned after swimming. What's exciting for me here in this place is the 15-min bamboo trek going to the "Hidden Falls". Buffet lunch and merienda were also good serving Filipino local dishes. Thank God for this! Thanks Mama and Papa, you brought us to this place when we were kids back then. And I will keep coming back here always as long as I have enough time. The BEST!

After so many years this resorts never fails to charm. It has still the beauty and serene of its surrounding natures. Spring water that runs down from the falls to the pool will relieve your stress thus makes you comfortable after.Day tour or overnight is a must to enjoy the day.

Bathe in natural spring pools, that's what you do in this resort. The setting is very natural, it feels like you're in the middle of the forest. If the weather is cold, you can enjoy the warm pools. If it's hot, go in the cooler pools.

For 2,500 pesos per person - you can bathe the whole day, with lunch and pm snacks included. The food is Filipino, not bad; but nothing to rave about.

Customer service in the front office is very stiff. We came with a 70 year old polio survivor, so we asked for a wheelchair. From the front office, the entrance to the pools would be a walk of around 300 meters. We were told that the two wheelchairs they have are occupied.

So we asked instead to allow us to drive past the barrier and bring our PWD closer to the pool. The front office person flatly and with finality said it's not allowed. So I said, "but we're requesting an exemption because you don't have a wheelchair". He was defensive and said, "We have 2 wheelchairs, but they are being used." "Exactly, I said, so can you please consider allowing us to drive her to the entrance of the pools?" No amount of pleading convinced Mr. Bien Estrella. I'm sure that it's their policy, but he could have asked us if we can wait while he checks if the wheelchair can be back soon, or something like that.

He didn't seem to care. His attitude was like "That's your problem. Not mine."

First, they only do reservations via Instagram. They gave me the total amount for overnight (23,900) which even with food is way overpriced for home cooked Filipino ulam. Anyway, apparently they overcharged me by 1,500 which I said was ok to deposit for incidentals. When we were checking out, that was the only time we were told that they have a no refund policy and they can't give back my deposit. No one informed me via IG and they didn't even give me an e reciept or reservation confirmation which they promised to send. People at the front desk are too pissed to accommodate you or they are either too busy with their phones. The view and the falls were nice but for the amount they charge, the service was really BAD.

This is a must-do experience if you are staying in Manila for more than a couple days. it's about a two hour ride from Manila, but once you get there you'll be glad you invested the time and money to get there. The whole area is imaculate and breathtakingly beautiful. Think tropical botanical gardens with warm springs. Please know that it's not a hot spring its a warm spring, but I promise you that you will LOVE it! There are several large pools to bath in, and all of them are scenic, clean, clear, and stunning! We spent several hours there, but wished we could stay longer. Be sure to make the hike out to the waterfall. It was beautiful, secluded, and the hike there took us through an impressive natual rainforest with giant trees. Your entrance fee includes a wonderul lunch and a snack later in the day. Hidden Valley Springs is such a wonderul respite from the crazy hustle and bustle of Manila that it would be a shame to miss out on it!!

Clean, simple and ok buffet, nice and clean toilet and shower facilities. Staff are polite and helpful. Signs for pools needs re-painting so it's clear, we lost our way as the arrows were faded. Tranquil. We visited on a weekday so it's less crowded. One of the staff in the buffet speaks Korean and Japanese, very impressive.

We really enjoyed our visit to Hidden Valley. It was like a tropical paradise! The natural warm springs were so relaxing and invigorating. The hiking paths were clearly marked, except for the last part towards the waterfalls. The changing rooms were modern and clean. The food was good and the staff were attentive. The entrance fee is a bit steep but it might be why it wasn't crowded (aside from the fact that we came in the middle of the week), which was a big plus. Definitely worth the trip!

Poor elaboration from hidden valley resort. We are not satisfied to their service. if you asked something that we don't know they keep pointing to thier list on their webpage. that we are very confused.
I feel they only want to serve the foreigners not the local like us.
Like thier representative online booking. The person's who's answering email they are not happy to serve a local customer. She keeps pointing to thier pages list and not answering our questions. Very dissapointed. I hope this issue can be discussed in their board meeting. to educate those who are actually in the receiving email area.

This message is not for ePhilippines adventure travel and destinations .
I'll just send in here. maybe the hidden valley spring resort laguna
( calauan laguna Philippines )
they dont have see slots for review.

A bit of a dubious feeling here. Some spots in the area are wonderful, lush vegetation and many old trees. The pools were nice, really nice. The toilets and showers at the pools were well maintained. But the outside area gave the impression of a lack of maintenance and care. I understand that a big place like that is difficult and expensive to maintain, but the facilities look old and tired. Upon entry, the first impression is not very positive and disorganized. Later, when you walk in the forest, you feel more at home. The food was OK, not spectacular, but that was not why we went there anyway. With a fresh approach, this resort could be spectacular, now it is kind of OK for parents with kids and young lovers.
