The rooms are excellent with views of the river. There is a very comfortable main area and "relax room". The family who runs it are so friendly. The food is delicious. This is one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I cannot say enough great things about this place! We visited during winter (the off-season). It was very close to the National Park, which was definitely worth a visit.
I arrived at Ruca K kind of exhausted, after taking an early flight from BA to Bariloche and driving down to Cholila. Greeted by Alejandro, we LOVED arriving to Ruca. Beautiful rooms overlooking the Carileufu river! Nap, walk alongside the river, solitary extasis, listening to to the unique voice of water flowing down... and then Uau what a dinner... pate, a home-made beer, then a wonderful Malbec, an orange-squash soup and then trout ravioli ... unique... and a wonderful dessert ... closing with an espresso with a homemade limoncello... what a day!
This is a great little lodge right by the river. It is very professionally run by Alejandro and his team, but still felt like a very personal experience. As it was off-season in mid October, we had the place to our self. The nearby national park was also great, beautiful walks with no tourists, very unlike some of the placed around Bariloche. You need to book at least half board, it is really nowhere nearby to buy food and no cooking possibilities. That being said, the dinners were the highlight of our day - and not to be missed. Good wine, not expensive - so do not bring your own bad wine from the supermarked. This place is not to be missed, be adventures and leave busy Bariloche for the secluded and wonderful Ruca Kitai!
Our stay at Ruca Kitai was absolutely spectacular. The lodge is in an amazingly beautiful and peaceful environment, the perfect place to take a pause from busy travels and simply breathe and smile. We chose to spend a full day just to stay on the preoperty and enjoy, but there are also beautiful walks in the nearby national park that could easily be visited during the day. Beyond that, the hosts pay incredible attention to small details that make you feel very welcome and pampered. I would absolutely recommend booking with "full board" as the food is a huge part of this wonderful experience: fresh, delicious, creatively presented...you absolutely won't regret it. The only inconvenience is that they do not accept credit cards. If you are a traveler, you will need to plan ahead but certainly don't let it deter you. Booking.com said only local currency, but I got the impression that USD would be acceptable also; worth clarifying before you deal with ATM fees and daily maximums. Regardless, I highly recommend this lodge. Thank you so much Alejandro for everything!!…
Ruca Kitai sets the standard to which all lodges should be run. Located in a beautiful valley surrounded by snow capped mountains, this lodge is perfectly located just steps away from the river. In a matter of steps you can be riverside enjoying a picnic, a waterfront stroll, or some fishing. The lodge is impeccably clean and tidy with attention to detail evident at every turn. I highly recommend the "full-board" option as the meals were all superb. You won't be disappointed, it's a wonderful place!
