Great place to stay. Very comfortable room with high quality furnishings. The room and en-suite was very clean and well looked after. Martin is a great host and very helpful with knowledge of re local area.I would fully recommend staying here
Ignore the whining From other reviews ! This lovely place is just perfect the host was a total star and we loved our stay from the minute we arrived We would recommend this time and time again delightful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat Book now
We had a nice stay here. Lovely place, well supplied and well furnished. Heating and hot water all good. Sadly no book of instructions so we had to contact the owner after checking in to ask specific questions regarding the property - wifi code, check out instructions etc. We arrived for check in but got sent away for an hour and a half, he promised to pay for our round of drinks that the pub but never did. Also charged us for 6 adults despite me informing them one person was no longer coming over a month in advance. The delay would have been ok but we were all travelling from overseas and the UK to attend a surprise birthday. The late check in really left up pushed for time. There was plenty of parking and it was a comfortable stay. I hope the owner makes some changes to the service offered as this place really is fab. Sadly just a few easily fixed things let it down.…
We booked one month before our 3 night stay. Overall very disappointed as it had been advertised as luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, at prices in excess of what you would pay for a 5* star hotel in Central London. There was no breakfast option (only advised on the 2nd day), damaged bath towels/linen, garden furniture was rusty and not cleaned or wiped down, we experienced sewage smell for 2 nights, the bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress had seen better days. We felt that for a 3 night stay costing over £275 per night for a small double bedroom and separate bathroom was hugely overpriced. No living area and no breakfast offered in the room. We had to walk through the owners hallway to access our room, bypassing the family clothes drying on the airer and countless boots, trainers and shoes. Again not what you expected from luxury accommodation. We asked the owner (Martin) to reconsider the price we paid vs what was offered in the booking and advertised on their website. He acknowledged the sewage smell and the damaged towels but promptly blamed Booking.com for false advertising and their 18% commission. Even with that deducted, we were paying £225 per night directly to him, which I honestly find unjustified for the quality of the stay. With my work I support the hospitality and leisure industry in this country, and it is examples like this which is not a true flection of decent business trying to survive in this environment. We will not be returning.…
From the no breakfast option, the tired linen and towels, the 5pm check in, the garden in disarray, the old spring mattress, simple shower over bath no en-suite and the sheer lack of care, for over £250 a night I will be staying elsewhere, luxury this is not and overpriced it certainly is
