A spectacular vista of the Atlantic Ocean greets you on arrival at Dunmore House Hotel. This third generation family business first opened as a hotel in 1948. The house still retains much of its original character whilst providing all the comforts of a modern hotel. Situated on the shores of Clonakilty Bay in charming West Cork, the adjoining 9 hole golf course and sea terrace add to the enjoyment of this spectacular location. The bar and lounge areas are warm and inviting with an interesting collection of modern Irish art. Both the contemporary dining room and attractive terrace overlook the water. The extensive bar and dining room menus offer high quality locally sourced food, served daily. The magnificent coastal location of Dunmore House Hotel has been used to advantage to provide sea views from most rooms. The hotel is furnished and maintained to a high standard to ensure the comfort of all guests.

We just spent two nights in Dunmore House. This was our first visit. It is a real gem. The attention to detail to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests was faultless. All staff wore masks and sanitisers are visible and available throughout the hotel and supplied in every guest room. The rooms are really well appointed and comfortable. The linens are crisp and the towels fluffy and soft. The staff are sup friendly and helpful. The food is just gorgeous, particularly the fish. The hotel overlooks Inchydoney beach with breathtaking sea views. I really recommend this hotel it is a real find. We will be back.

Breath in the magnificent coastal sight that unfolds before your eyes as you arrive, the sea air and the best of west cork hospitality.
We truely enjoyed our recent 3 night break in Dunmore House.
Covid 19 safety practices are well established here and yet for the first time in a long time we were able to enjoy a truely relaxing and tranquil break.
If waking up to a seaview wasn't enough, our room was amazing, functional with reading lights, two plug sockets a comfortable bed with a choice of soft or firm pillows, a light quilt was seasonally appropriate and a Nespresso machine provided a soothing coffee at the end of a days sight seeing.
The bathroom was well equipped with plenty of hot water and a selection of decently sized towels and voya toiletries. Our room was refreshed daily which was a real treat with so many hotels no longer providing this level of service during the pandemic times. The waste bins are separated for recycling purposes and a reduce food waste scheme is in operation. The hotel offers ground floor accommodation, ramps to the entrance and a dog friendly environment if required.
The hotel is comfortable and tastefully furnished with detail and attention given to the soft furnishings, fresh flowers and art.
Newspapers are available in the lobby and a basket of apples awaits anyone who needs a little snack.
Breakfast is an exceptional experience free of the constraints of bookings and time slots. Breakfast is offered between 8 and 11 and the quality and selection of produce is amazing. Ceramic condiment sets, linen napkins and egg spoons all help you to forget we are living through a global pandemic.
There is a variety of seating areas inside and outside each comfortable and offering breathtaking views.
Dunmore house puts the comfort and experience of it's guests to the fore through it's amazing staff who always have a friendly word and provide a prompt and professional service to all they meet. It is truely an exceptional family run hotel and we are looking forward to our return visit already.

My girlfriend and i stayed here this past weekend, the hotel stay from start to finish was amazing. We stayed in a beautiful sea view room which was spacious and had everything you needed including an amazing shower, upon arrival we were given a goodie bag with a complimentary bottle of hand sanitizer. We ate in both the bar and the restaurant which were both so fresh and tasty. The breakfast in the mornings were beautiful and the staff were willing to cater to any dietary needs. The hotel gives a homey and comfortable feel as its family run. All of the staff were amazing including the owner who went out of her way to drop us into town as there was no taxis. The hotel was above and beyond my expectations and we will definitely be back!

Dunmore House is a great hotel and a fab wedding venue. The views are stunning and the location is peaceful with great beaches nearby. The bar and lobby areas are cosy & comfortable, the bedrooms also. The boat deck is a beautiful outdoor ceremony space and also a great bar on a sunny day. The food in the bar, restaurant (especially the breakfast) is brilliant and so many of our guests commented on the quality of the food at our wedding. But the real star of this hotel is the service. We can't thank Carol, Richard & family and all the staff enough for everything they did to make our wedding and our guests stays so relaxed and enjoyable. They went the extra mile, even setting up both indoor and outdoor areas for the service in case the weather changed at the last minute. We and our families stayed on at the hotel for several days afterwards and enjoyed how friendly and warm all the staff were all the time. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Dunmore House Hotel is without doubt the nicest hotel that we as a family have stayed in. It may be a 4 star hotel but it's 5 star quality. We have stayed in 5 star hotels on occasions but none can match this hotel for ambience, welcome and intimacy.
It has been newly renovated throughout and compliments to the interior decorator for her/his sense of style and imagination. There is a great sense of warmth throughout the hotel and the rooms that we stayed in were beautifully decorated, taking advantage of the natural light that fills the room. The view overlooking the sea is absolutely spectacular.
The hotel doesn't have a leisure centre but as we didn't have young children to entertain, this didn't inhibit our enjoyment in any way.
When booking we informed management that our son had an egg and chicken allergy and unlike other hotels that we stayed in, staff went out of their way to ensure that his needs were catered for . A special thank you and compliments to the restaurant manager on duty, Miriam and to Imogen who with her bright and bubbly personality ensured again that he had the same choice as the rest of us for breakfast, bar eggs of course!!
We cannot wait to return to Dunmore House but it's quite difficult to book in advance as when we returned home this evening we tried to book for next April but it is fully booked.
Most hotels are carbon copies of each other as they are big company run hotels but Dunmore House is a family run hotel and a little gem.
Well done to all concerned!!! We cannot wait to return.

If your travel preferences include a well-appointed hotel, furnished in a casually elegant and intimate style, with outstanding food, service and staff, and located on beautiful ocean coastline, then you must get to the Dunmore House Hotel to experience a rare hospitality treat.

My wife and I stayed at Dunmore House for several nights in September during a three week trip to Ireland. The glowing reviews and beautiful website photos do not adequately convey what an oasis this property is. Views of the ocean from the dining room or rooms are superb; a private beach and garden walk area provide guests with easy access to splendid scenery. The blues and greens of the sea are carried through the decor of the hotel, even down to the dining room plates, creating an overall sense of calm. Thick carpet underfoot, comfortable beds with smooth linens, and a large, well-lit, modern and stylish bathroom contribute to making one's stay refined and refreshing.

The Dunmore House's level of service is exemplary. The front desk team was very helpful in responding to any request we made and in providing us with great information from a local perspective as to paths to hike, places to eat and "locals only" beaches to visit. The culinary team provided fresh, inventive and delicious selections, many of which were prepared using ingredients harvested from the on-site gardens and greenhouse. Meals are served by an attentive and personable staff, making the entire dining experience pleasurable.

Our stay at the Dunmore House was a relaxing oasis; an antidote to the wear of travel and a perfect base from which to explore Ireland's West Cork region. Highly recommended!

On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by Adel at a reception this was the beginning of a three-night visit with our dog Tuppence.
This was the beginning of an experience of constant superior customer service.
The location, views and general setting is second to none!
We had two evening meals and lunch at the hotel while the bar food is of a very high standard we would recommend experiencing the excellent cuisine in the restaurant.

The attention to detail by the management and staff in this hotel left a lasting impression on us!

We will return.
James and Joyce Dillon.

This was a delayed trip, following the lifting of our Kildare lockdown. But there was a bonus: now we were in mid September and there was a deal on for 3 nights B and B and a dinner as part of the Wild Atlantic Way package. We were lucky that they had 3 nights available, the room only becoming available for the 3rd night at the last minute. That was great, since it would have been a long trip for 2 nights- and the place was so lovely that we would have been disappointed to leave any earlier. The hotel was everything and more that we could have expected. The room spotlessly clean (Ok , one minor hiccup when we were about to leave for the day when the cleaning staff called and they left all the towels etc outside the door and didn't clean the room even though we said we would be gone in 5 minutes; otherwise it was crisply clean). Beautiful views across Clonakilty Bay and a nice lounge where you could sit after dinner- to the attractive traditional music playing of some youngsters on a couple of nights. Breakfast was excellent but what really surprised us was just how good dinner was. We had initially booked for one dinner, but had two there since we thought the found outstanding: this was very good Dublin restaurant standard. We ate fish, naturally in such a place, and it was superbly presented. I could argue that I prefer my prawns more cooked, but that is a personal preference I guess. Normally I would not choose cod as it is not a fish I enjoy particlarly, but I had it on the second night's dinner and it was the finest bit of cod I have ever eaten: it was beautifully prepared and extraordinarily tasty. The wine list was not extensive but pretty well chosen to offer a good range. We ate out one night in a highly rated restaurant in Timoleague: good, but nowhere near this standard. The staff too were unfailingly good natured. The hotel has a 9 hole golf course attached. Don't be fooled, though: it is tough!
Clonakilty is a gorgeous town and this is the perfect spot to stay if you want to visit there. It is not a cheap place to stay but we thought it worth every penny: could not have enjoyed our 3 nights more!

I have recently enjoyed both barfood and the fine dining restaurant at Dunmore.
The fine dining restaurant came in at only about €90 for 2, including starter, main, coffee and drinks, and is MasterChef quality ingredients and preparation. Could not recommend it more highly.
The barfood option is naturally cheaper, but is equally well done.
Congratulations to Carol, Peter, Anne Marie, Liam, Richard et al for keeping the standard so consistently high!

Stayed here for one night . We had booked through Booking.com a deluxe room at €150.00 but when we arrived there was a standard room available only. Hotel said that was the booking they received from Booking .com . This is not the first time for this to happen under any of these booking sites. Better booking directly with the hotel.
The room we were given was small but very comfortable with an excellent sea view especially from lying in bed the next morning. ! Bathroom was very spacious and modern. Breakfast was very good especially the pancakes ! Dinner was very good also. All in all a very nice place but a bit too expensive.
We had intended playing a round of golf on their course but when we saw it was full of hills and a very windy day we abandoned it.
