We are 5 friends who are very familiar with the Philippines and had Apo Reef on our bucket list for quite a while! We were greeted by owner Michael on arrival and received and short briefing before heading to our wonderful sea view room. The sunset here at the resort is AMAZING and a few beers were had in the infinity pool before an early night. Up bright and early we headed out on the boat 3 hours to Apo Reef. 1st dive, shipwreck, nice and safe check dive but also stunningly beautiful, then on to another 9 dives loaded with sharks, rays, turtles, cuttlefish, tuna, trevally and octopus. Dive guide/instructor Sean was super happy all the time and made countless coffees for us, Chef Armando cooked up a storm for every meal, in fact it seemed like he cooked non-stop, all the crew worked their butts off the whole trip! We did a 2 night 3 day boat tour and it was just the perfect amount of time, I for one will definitely be back. I learnt that Apo Reef is the worlds 2nd largest reef, after the great barrier reef (and that's very expensive to do) so what are you waiting for?

Apo Reef Club is a small and very friendly dive resort. Very nice and comfortable beach front bungalows. Staff are all extremely helpful. Michael and his wife Mary go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome and help them in any way they can. The overnight diving trip by Bangka boat to Apo reef Is very special. Facilities on the boat are very basic, but the diving is great. Especially if you are into the big stuff. Sharks and turtles on every dive! We would recommend this resort and diving with them to anyone!

Apo Reef is amazing and we loved the entire experience! My boyfriend and I got on the 2D1N expedition and did 8 dives, each one of them gorgeous. The management is professional with a good eye for details. The staff is just so sweet, we had a great holiday. I highly recommend ARC and would love to come back one day!

The true spirit of hospitality in a small, family run operation is a rare and wonderful thing, but you will find it at Apo Reef Club. To get there means taking the road less traveled, but its worth it if you want the best experience of doing Apo without enduring a long live a board from more remote locations. Its not luxury travel, but owners Michael and Mary do an outstanding job in delivering comfort, convenience, and value while at the property before and after the expedition. This set up is perfect for those wanting to enjoy up to 8 dives on this iconic reef. A clean Traditional Philippine Banca (Outrigger) boat is the vessel used for this trip. Set up nicely for ease of access for divers and snorkelers alike. Part of their success is due to a great staff of committed people. Sharippe the Dive Master is a quiet and considerate professional who gives his all to accommodate the various levels of divers on the trip. Armando the cook, and the rest of the on-board crew, are eager to please and they looked after the guests well. Food was “nothing fancy” but plentiful and well served. Water, tea, and coffee is free. Bring your own “special drinks”, but there are soft drinks and beers available at very reasonable prices. Ours was the first trip of the “Apo season” (October to May) and we encountered beautiful weather, calm seas, and great visibility. Lots of sharks and turtles, big fish, and am impressive wall We did not get the type of strong currents that are required for more “big stuff”, but what we saw certainly satisfied the group. Michael led the team and did an outstanding job in making it fun for all while ensuring safety. Its nice to see an owner that directly involved with an expedition. I’m just editing my videos and pictures, some attached now and later I will add a link to my youtube video. Thanks to Michael and Mary for a great trip.

We spend 5 nights at Apo Reef Club, two of those on the diving boat at Apo Reef. Michael and his whole team provided a great service durning our stay. We have been picked up directly at the harbor and already got first insights on the way to the resort. There we could enjoy a hearty welcome from the whole team, enjoy the first evening in the generous bungalow room with private terrace and sea view. For the planned two nights trip to the Apo Reef the next day we got a first briefing and a box from the well organized diving centre. The trip to the Apo Reef started next morning on the diving boat together with 10 additional guests, 3 dive guides and the boat crew. The boat has no luxury - it’s simple, clean and offers the relevant infrastructure for a relaxed two day trip. After three diving days at Apo Reef with a trip to the Apo Reef Island, we enjoyed two additional days at Apo Reef Club. Michael and team offered us during that time private trips to the surrounding highlands. Which was a great experience - thank you all - great customer service. Carmen & Arthur

Michael and the rest of his crew run a tight ship! Imagine being on a boat, where food is good and drinks are flowing, and all you do for 2 or 3 days is dive the amazing dive sites of Apo Reef. This is the Apo Reef Club experience. Their inland resort is great too: manicured lawns, a nice beach and bar, and lovely rooms. I look forward to dinner time; their chef dishes out delicious meals each time.

I cannot speak highly enough of Apo Reef Club. This is a perfect dive resort experience. First, the resort itself is lovely. Located on what feels like a private beach, with a beautiful pool and dining area. The food is fantastic, and the service is spectacular. I stayed in the backbacker room, which was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the budget traveler. Next, the trip to Apo Reef was very well-run and the diving was really special. The boat was in good shape, also clean and comfortable, with a friendly crew and quality dive masters. If you want to see some pelagics without paying the price of Tubbataha, Apo Reef is the way to go. Finally, the hospitality. Michael and Mary (owners) go well above and beyond to give you the best experience possible. When I arrived as a solo traveler, they got everyone together to eat a family style dinner with me. When Cebu Pacific cancelled our flight from San Jose to Manila, Michael and his team organized alternate transport for every guest at the resort (over 15 people!). Simply amazing. I’ll definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Although it's not the easiest place to reach, I was SO glad I managed to fit a trip to Apo Reef Club into my 2 weeks in the Philippines! Right from the moment I first contacted them, I got quick and detailed responses that made organising my whole trip there really easy, including transfers between the airport, resort and ferry port. As soon as I arrived, everyone was so welcoming and the family feel among the staff was evident, which made my whole stay relaxed and really enjoyable. The bungalows are simple, but clean and comfortable and the resort itself is extremely peaceful as it's quite remote. I did an overnight trip to the Apo Reef and, although the boat was quite basic, everything was extremely well-organised, safe and comfortable. The diving was great - crystal-clear waters and plenty of marine life. We were even treated to a visit from a large pod of dolphins as we were travelling, stunning sunrises sunsets and a trip to the island in Apo Reef, where a trip up the lighthouse produced amazing views. The food, both at the resort and on the boat, was amazing too! Definitely a highlight of my trip and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Michael and Mary are running the most wonderful establishment that is instantly both completely professional and warm and family like. We stayed 7 nights and 8 days at Apo reef club and I'll detail here how it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. Premises/rooms: the resort is gorgeous. It's literally on the beach and the only hotel I could find in the area with a pool. The pool is clean, deep and frankly gorgeous. We had the beach front bungalow which means we woke up with a view of the ocean and the sunrise and the sounds of birds. The bungalow is large and clean and you have lots of space for your things. Plus there's a safety locker and mini fridge. As we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff decorated our room with flowers and lights and prepared the special sea-facing deck for our dinner. It was all a surprise and we felt truly spoilt. Food: The food is delicious and there's lots of variety at dinner. Even though it's a buffet, there are high quality dishes - we had crab one night (yes unlimited crab), shrimp one night, whole fish one night... You get the picture. The desserts are usually super tasty as well. Breakfast is very good as well and typically Filipino style (but there's also fruits, cereal, bread etc). If you like fresh, free range, local eggs for breakfast, you will be very happy here. Liveaboard: we did the liveaboard TWICE and we were so glad we did. Apo reef is so insanely beautiful and the dives we had were spectacular. Ego wall and Apo menor were our favourite sites. Dive Masters Glenn, Marco, Ferdie took excellent care of us, equipment was in ship shape, and the boat staff do their best to make your dives comfortable - they do all the work and help you suit up. All you have to do is jump ;-) Food on the liveaboard was not lacking in variety. Dinner and lunch would usually have 2-3 meat dishes and 1-2 veggies (sometimes more). We had bread, rice, noodles and pasta dishes alongside and fruits and biscuits as snacks. I suggest bringing your own snacks too if you feel extra hungry between dives. Extras: given the remote location and the fact that you cannot exactly walk to a nearby bar or restaurant, we felt that the extras like beer, wine, etc. were quite reasonably priced. Even the extra dives were priced in line with other dive centers we have visited in busier parts of the Philippines. All in all, it was an incredibly relaxing holiday in the best of locations with exceptional hospitality. We couldn't have asked for more and we'd love to return to Apo reef club!

The food is terrible. The boat has fumes coming out from everywhere not to mention it takes almost 4 hours to arrive at Apo Reef. There is no house Reef. The beach at the reaort is full of Sand Flies. The one good thing was their diving guide Glann.. he was awesome! Do yourself a favor and go to Pandan Island. They arrive at Apo Reef in 2 hours. They have an amazing beach and house reef on a backpacker style private Island with a great atmosphere. Their boats are more comfortable and you wont get eaten alive.

hello shawn I don't know why you do this as you not a guest, you started as divemaster and stay only 2 weeks and left because you are deciding to go because some other plans, see below message you send to me when I was in hongkong at the DRT Show : Hello good morning Michael 😊i hope all is well in Hong Kong I am sorry to inform you but i have given it a lot of thought and I feel that it is not working out for me here 😔 there are many reasons, number one being the fact that I cannot eat rice 3x a day. I have already lost my appetite for many days and it is making me become unwell. I appreciate so much meeting you and everyone here as the people are wonderful. Unfortunately I can not survive under these conditions especially for many months. I am deeply sorry for any trouble this causes you and i sincerely wish you and your family all the best. I have talked to Glen already and now I am on my way to the office to speak with Melissa. You are a good man and I like you I truly hope for only postive feelings between us. I am very sorry, take care 👌🏼Shawn
