We spent 3 nights in Ronchi di Sant'Egidio and they were incredibly relaxing. The location is fantastic, with amazing views of the Collio and the Alps. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning was bliss.
Our room was huge, the size of an apartment, and very comfortable. The only comment I have is that there weren't many toiletries and towels and we ran out very quickly.
I enjoyed going to the pool in the late afternoon after spending the day exploring the surrounding area.
The food was really good, but unfortunately dinner is only served Thursday to Sunday, so the days we were there we had to go elsewhere, even though on some of the evenings we would have loved to eat there.

When we arrived in April the cherry trees were in full bloom against the fresh greenery of the agrarian landscape and the snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites. Sheer beauty!
The farm shows vernacular architecture at its best, tastefully laid out with lovely bedrooms and excellent bathrooms.
There were only a few guests at the time and the restaurant of the farm was closed. But we enjoyed the warm hospitality of the small staff and indulged in magnificent breakfasts and afternoon snacks with hams and "salume" and wine of their own produce. There are paths for walking and cycling in the landscape surrounding the farm, and by car the Langobard centre of Cividale and the wine producers of Friuli and neighbouring Slovenia can be reached in a short time.
Food allergies like coeliacic diease or intolernance of dairy products are no problem if you notify the staff in advance.

I have decided to write in English because the exquisite owners of Ronchi di Sant'Egidio deserve a broader exposure to international customers. Everything is absolutely wonderful: first and foremost, the hospitality and the kindness of the family who own the place, who bend backwards to make their guests feel at home. Then, the location, on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards, from where you can see the Alps and the Adriatic see, on a clear day. The stone buildings are very ancient, their renovation has been completed with absolute respect of the original structure and materials. The 5 rooms have different themes, some of them are actually suites with kitchenette, washing machine etc. Check out their website www.ronchisantegidio.it to get a realistic idea. Last but absolutely not least, the food: the restaurant (open from Thursday to Sunday) serves hearty portions of mouth-watering specialties of Friuli (the region where Manzano is situated), accompanied by wines that are produced by the Ronchi di Sant'Egidio vineyard (don't miss the sparkling rose' spumante), at unbeatable prices. Also the breakfast is amazing, at the level of a 4-star hotel (home-made pies, fresh fruit including raspberries, blackberries etc., prosciutto, scrambled eggs, croissants, yogurt etc...). I can't wait to take another vacation at the Ronchi di Sant'Egidio!!!

I filed a complaint as my phone booking was wrongly placed on different dates.

As you can see from the email exchange (in Italia with a member of the staff) i get accused of not reading well confirmation emails and of having made the booking mistake myself.

I would have expected some kind of acknowledgment or at least courtesy: businesses should deal with complaints professionally and not emotionally like my counterpart.

Very unprofessional

Ronchi di Sant'Egidio is a beautiful facility in the heart of Friuli. The location is central for day trips throughout Friuli located within multiple grape vines with great views. The rooms are large and clean for a great price. The breakfasts and dinners were both excellent.

We had grappa digestives after one dinner without any additional cost.

Perfect location, buildings, huge rooms very nice furnished (seen them all), nice area (winery everywhere, historic town cividale 12 km, palmanova etc). The breakfast was very good and the landscape in the morning while taking breakfast is unforgettable. Highly recommended if you do not like crowded places. Last, but not least: the owners are fine people, very very kind and helpful. Nice wines they have by the way!

Like many others have said, this is truly an extraordinary place to stay. It is hard to know where to begin. The views are spectacular. The buildings of the agriturismo were built in the 13th century and the current family goes back to the 17th century. Our room on the top floor is huge, with large wooden beams and a very updated bathroom. And the breakfasts - fried eggs, prosciutto, cheese, breads, yogurt, and two home made pies - one lemon covered with pine nuts, and another (a fruit pie?) that we did not have the heart to cut into, was better than any breakfast we have had in Italy. The owners are gracious and accommodating, happy to do whatever will make your stay great. The Friuli area is not inundated with tourists and proves to be a gem. It helps to speak a little Italian because of the lack of English speaking tourists, but people have been so friendly that even without speaking Italian you will feel welcome. We enjoyed our visit to Venice, and our stay here, only an hour and a half from Venice, is a perfect change of pace.

Great location, room was perfect and staff were very friendly (the dog was maybe a little too friendly ;)

Made to feel very welcome, really enjoyed our stay.

Comments from our friends together with other reviewers encouraged us to stay four days in this accommodation.
We were not disappointed, the owners and staff were exceedingly friendly and the renovators accommodation was pristine but somewhat spartan. The breakfasts are good although I found it surprising that in area fruit production, catering style small pots of jam are provided. The Wi-Fi and the television connections are somewhat ropey.

It is not recommended if you have any mobility problems as the stairs are quite challenging and there are no grab handles in the bathrooms..
The surrounding area is interesting, culturally and scenically and certainly a few days here is a minimum that you will need. The restaurant was closed, although we've heard it is good
