Lovely surf resort very close to Cloud Nine. Rooms are basic but clean and provide exactly what you need, though there could be more blankets on the beds rather than just one sheet. The landscaped gardens are beautiful and you can hear the ocean. There is a party every Saturday night so be warned that it does get very noisy then especially if your room is close to the restaurant.

Staff are very friendly and can book whatever activities you need. There's an ATM right outside the resort and tuk tuks come by pretty often. A good number of restaurants are within walking distance as well. Overall a nice stay away from the main street of General Luna but still accessible to the center of town.

Awesome surf resort with ever so kind and helpful staff. I stayed in a community villa which was really spacious. Even though it’s a 12 bed dorm, it never felt crowded or noisy. Surf guides were really helpful and knowledgeable, there was a good selection of surfboards to rent. Restaurant serves great breakfast, and if you miss it because of surfing, you can get a takeaway box. Really good value resort with great vibes. I met some awesome people.
Keep up a great work!

Great place, great people. It was a pleasure to hang out with Jane, Miryam and all the super friendly staff here. They probably have the best coffee machine in town - and a real barista handling it. I would always come back to Harana if I’m on Siargao.

Comparing hotels in Siargao, this is above average and yet the place is not well maintained. First is the staff. Despite being big in number, they still miss a lot of details. They booked us a private transfer from the airport to the hotel even though we agreed to a public transfer, but still charged us for private which was 3x the price. They are also not very attentive to their visitors. They didn’t brief us when we checked in and they also did not offer any help with our stay.

Next is the room. Although nice from the outside, the room is not well kept. There are stains on the sheets, dusts all over, and flickering lights (they’re blinking the entire night even when we’ve turned them off). We also found an extra pillow in a drawer that was really gross!! It’s unwashed and the place where it’s stored is super unhygienic. Also, the queen bed in the deluxe room is just two single mattresses joined together. It was very uncomfortable.

I have been to many beach hotels so it was a huge surprise when they wanted to charge us for clean towels!! It’s P300 per wash which was unreasonable.

We’re also stationed at the farthest end of the hotel but they have very little lighting. It was difficult for us to navigate on the nights we came home late.

THE WORST PART — after the room was cleaned on our 3rd day, I stepped on a thumbtack and I bled because of it. I don’t know how they can be so unaware and careless to leave something as dangerous as that on the floor.

The only good things from this hotel — location, food is decent, the cute dogs.

Will not be coming back.

I stayed for 4 nights. Comfortable large bed (two singles together) and good air conditioning.

Lots of work happening to build / re-build, starting at 645am with angle grinders. I assume that this won't last forever. Lots of dogs barking all hours of night and day.

Highly recommended, but overpriced vs. other places on the island.

The hotel is a kubo type modern cabin. The feelz of an island dwelling is there. The price is just right for a party of 3. We got the deluxe 8 and it also has a balcony. The bathroom and shower are noth clean and with hot water. The problem is just the fluctuating electricity which is Siargao’s problem. Pity to the hotels coz the airconditioners will greatly be affected by this on and off thing in power supply. The mayor ahould do soemthing about the power supply in the island.

Needed a room for only a night but they let us pay for a total of 2 nights. Staff told us it's their minimum. We had no choice cause all the resorts were already fully booked so we agreed. Anyway, we were so amazed with the interiors of the whole resort and how clean the rooms are. Unfortunately, the water pressure is super weak that literally, only droplets fall out of the shower. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms and no breakfast included. We thought that it would be fine because we can just avail one in the morning. But then again, when we went down the next day, the restaurant and coffee shop are still closed. When we asked the receptionist what time will it be open, she told us that it should open at 7am. Apparently, we came back at around 730 and everything's still closed. Around qtr to 8, we asked again and the staff told us that it will be opened by 730. It was already 745 that time so we got so confused that they seem too lazy to open we opted not to eat breakfast anymore.

Management, please do something about this especially in the water pressure of the rooms. It's so sad to see how beautiful a resort is but has a really really poor service.

If you're a foreigner, this is the place to be. 😉

The location is great, food is good, and rooms are very ideal for big groups.

And yes, could have given a better and more detailed review if they treated all of their guests without any biases.

First of all, the weather was scorching hot in Siargao during our whole stay which began on the second week of June 2018. One of the tour guides mentioned that it was exceptionally HOTTT even for the residents. My group was thankful because we just escaped the storm in El Nido and we craved the sun.

Harana made us feel completely at home during our week-long stay. The check-in process was a breeze since we prepaid for the whole thing via a travel agent (@destinationgetaways on Instagram) so the receptionist simply needed our ID's to make copies and then we were assisted to our community villa by very kind employees. My friends and I booked out the whole community villa (12 beds) so I have no experience with sharing among solo travelers.

Harana Restaurant looks like it has it's own Tripadvisor page, but trust that it is really good food. You're on a small island so be patient if they run out of ice. The halo halo is more like a bingsoo but it was good, just not filipino. My group ordered pretty much everything on the menu and liked/loved it.

There's a massage place situated right at the resort entrance. The therapists can go to your villa if you want the massage there. Strong hands and great smelling oil.

Booked surf lessons with the receptionist and the instructors were prompt, rowdy, and very fun. We freaking loved them. (Hi Wawa, Darryl, Badu, Jetjet, and co. sorry I'm bad with names!) We're all beginner surfers so we took classes at Cloud 9, but if you wake up early and walk to the beach to watch the sun rise, you'll see surfers paddle out right at the Harana beachfront (Tuason Point).

Good coffee is a few steps away. Filibeans (opens 7:30am) is right next to the reception area. It was hard to drink hot coffee so we always got iced espressos with coconut milk. The coconut milk is for real! Super fresh! Hi Madi and Neyney, thank you for the laughs and really good coffee and convos :)

My friends and I decided to get tattoos to commemorate the trip. Luckily, Inigo, is a regular customer at the restaurant and basically lives on the same property. He's amazing at what he does and will work with your design ideas and schedule. @indioink on Instagram if you're interested.

Lodging: Community Youth Villa

12 twin/single, bunk beds. Look at the pictures online, the interior and exterior of this place is stunning. You're not given metal creaky bunk beds, these beds are built onto the sides of what we called a "high-class kubo" (traditional filipino home).

Each person is provided a lockable compartment under the bottom bunk, just bring a padlock.

The villa had 2 toilets, 2 showers, a lot of floor space and never felt crowded despite our group of 9.

Tip: keep the toilet doors closed cause you'll let the cold air out the screened window.

Another tip: turn the AC off when you leave the villa cause we kept it running for 2 days straight and it started dripping and spewing ice out.

I was in Siargao with my boyfriend and we had to leave the hostel where we were staying in due to technical problems in the building. When we knew about that we were out island hopping so the only thing we could do was call, we called all the hostels and the answer was always that they were fully booked. In Harana however, they told us not to worry, they had beds in the hostel room and they understood our situation, so asked us to check in as soon as we came back from the island hopping. But when we went there to check in they had given our beds to somebody else. The only thing they did was offer us hotel rooms we couldn’t afford (if that was all they could find they should have payed the difference). We spent an hour there, waiting for them to fix their own mess and they were uncapable to at least offer us a drink for the inconvenience... we found a hostel at the end but not thanks to them...
I’m sad that I have to report this because we went to their restaurant several times and were very satisfied with it.
