I stayed for 4 nights. Comfortable large bed (two singles together) and good air conditioning. Lots of work happening to build / re-build, starting at 645am with angle grinders. I assume that this won't last forever. Lots of dogs barking all hours of night and day. Highly recommended, but overpriced vs. other places on the island.

Great place, great people. It was a pleasure to hang out with Jane, Miryam and all the super friendly staff here. They probably have the best coffee machine in town - and a real barista handling it. I would always come back to Harana if I’m on Siargao.

Comparing hotels in Siargao, this is above average and yet the place is not well maintained. First is the staff. Despite being big in number, they still miss a lot of details. They booked us a private transfer from the airport to the hotel even though we agreed to a public transfer, but still charged us for private which was 3x the price. They are also not very attentive to their visitors. They didn’t brief us when we checked in and they also did not offer any help with our stay. Next is the room. Although nice from the outside, the room is not well kept. There are stains on the sheets, dusts all over, and flickering lights (they’re blinking the entire night even when we’ve turned them off). We also found an extra pillow in a drawer that was really gross!! It’s unwashed and the place where it’s stored is super unhygienic. Also, the queen bed in the deluxe room is just two single mattresses joined together. It was very uncomfortable. I have been to many beach hotels so it was a huge surprise when they wanted to charge us for clean towels!! It’s P300 per wash which was unreasonable. We’re also stationed at the farthest end of the hotel but they have very little lighting. It was difficult for us to navigate on the nights we came home late. THE WORST PART — after the room was cleaned on our 3rd day, I stepped on a thumbtack and I bled because of it. I don’t know how they can be so unaware and careless to leave something as dangerous as that on the floor. The only good things from this hotel — location, food is decent, the cute dogs. Will not be coming back.…

Harana Surf Resort really tainted our overall Siargao experience for the following reasons: - Terrible Service - It’s obvious the place is not well run - Lying and uncaring staff For starters, our friend booked an Ocean View room (which is slightly more expensive than the Garden View rooms), but there was no ocean view at all! They were placed in the lower part of the villa where there was no view at all. When they requested if they can be placed on the upper floor (where there probably was a view of the ocean), or to be transferred elsewhere, they were told the resort was fully booked. Don’t know if this is actually true cause there was a vacancy sign in front of the resort the whole time we were there. The villas look really nice in photos, but unfortunately I don’t think they’re well made. The wood polish/varnish/coloring would stain our clothes whenever we hang them on the wood racks. Yikes. The shower flooring did not look like shower tiles (they looked more like office tiles – shiny, smooth, and slippery). The towels, bedsheets, pillows we were provided had rust stains. They give you breakfast coupons which clearly states that breakfast is at 7:00-10:00. The coupon has food and drink options that you can choose from. Despite this, we were told that coffee can only be served at around 7:30 cause their concessionaire only opens around that time. If this is the case, then they should not have included the coffee options in the coupon, or at least accurately state that the coffee beverage options can only be served at 7:30. After coming back from a long day spent outside, we were surprised to see that they did not clean our room. My roommates went to reception to inquire why our room was not cleaned, and the receptionist said it’s cause we did not request everyday cleaning. If this was the case, then why was the room of our friends staying in another room (who also did not request everyday cleaning) get cleaned? I also distinctly remember that when we were led to our room I was told by one of the staff members that they clean everyday (“Ma’am ok lang pasok tsinelas niyo, linilinis naman araw araw [“Ma’am you can bring in your slippers cause this is cleaned everyday]”). My roommates were informed that not cleaning everyday became their policy when a guest once complained why the rooms were being cleaned everyday. Uhm, doesn’t it make more sense to make it the general rule to clean everyday, with the option for the guest to opt out if they prefer to not have their rooms cleaned everyday? That’s the norm in every other hotel/resort I’ve stayed in. My friends asked if the receptionist can find housekeeping staff to clean the room that night, but they were informed there was no staff available, despite my friends’ repeated requests to the receptionist to try to at least find someone. My friends then just asked for a garbage bag and clean towels, but the receptionist informed us she can only provide a garbage bag and not the towels cause they only replace towels every other day. When my friends reported this to me, I immediately went to the receptionist to get clarity on why they did not clean our rooms, why they can’t even try to find someone to at least clean up that night, and why the hell they could not provide clean towels. When I got there, the receptionist basically blamed us, saying that we did not request for everyday cleaning. A few minutes later, she was joined by housekeeping staff who explained that the morning shift did not inform them (the afternoon shift) that our room needed cleaning. So I’m not sure what the story really is, if it’s cause we didn’t tell them, or because there was a miscommunication on the part of the housekeeping staff. I also found it really off that despite the receptionist repeatedly telling my friends that there were no available housekeeping staff just a few minutes prior, suddenly there were two housekeeping staff available and present. So, clearly the receptionist was lying. I also find it so off that clean towels are not available upon request. Is it such a big burden to the resort to give their guests clean towels if they request? At this point I already requested for the manager, but per the staff she was not in the resort at the moment. I told the staff to ensure the manager talks to me before we checkout (this was a Saturday, our checkout was on Monday). Spoiler alert: The manager did not even try to contact me or anyone in my group (leaving me with no choice but to escalate my concerns by posting a review of this place). There was a party at the resort the same night so it was loud and noisy until 12:00 am. The next day, the staff failed to inform us that since there was a party the night before, breakfast is only available at 8:00 am. Good thing the kitchen staff were kind enough to cook breakfast for the guests even before 8:00 am (even if they didn’t have to cause they were busy cleaning the mess from the party the night before). The place was a pigsty post-party. Lots of bottles, calamansi, trash everywhere. There was even a moldy pandesal on the seating area near reception that no one thought to clean up. I actually have a picture. Anyway, please avoid staying in this place, it will just stress you out. Take your money somewhere else.…

Unfortunately the best example of what “General Luna” area become.i have tried my luck maybe 5 different times. Each time I thought maybe it’s me, maybe it’s not the right day, maybe other worker will be nicer... but not at all. Really really over priced!!!(everything-room/food/accessories/clothes/surfing...All)(you can get Exactly the same or better in other places) medium quality food! Not nice waiters/reception/ anyone that I had the chance to speak with/ask question/ order/ just walking around...classic tourist trap!!!! AVOID! it’s becoming harder but there are still some decent generous good price-quality places you can find in general Luna. If not go to Pacifico beach. Highly recommended!

Arrived to Harana for 7 surf lessons in order to improve my skills. My teacher mike was really good, and the school itself is extremely proffesional. Would definitely come back for more improvement, bringing more friends with me

I really loved staying in Harana for a week. The wifi was great and everyone seem to be coming here to use the wifi. I also loved the coffee from filibeans and the ice cream that they offer was next level. The staff is super friendly and even though I stayed in the dorm it was super clean. They even folded my sheet every day and gave me a new towel whenever I needed one. Front desk also helped out with transfer to the airport. I came here as a solo traveller and left with so many new friends. It seriously felt like a big family there. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We came for honeymoon and got a very bad service experience in this hotel. When we asked for one hour late check out because the check out is very early (10 AM) they did not accepted. When i asked for one more towel because mine was not clean, they wanted extra charge. however after i was upset for the bad service i got a new towel. I don't understand why it should be like this and i won't recommend this hotel for anybody.

Breakfast was overpriced and the quality and quantity of food was appalling. Fruit 'platter' was half a banana, slice of watermelon and 1/3 of a mango. Wouldn't hurt the waitresses to smile. The only good service was from the young male. 22/06/2019
