I've been staying at Jings place a couple of times over the past few years. The family is super lovely warm and welcoming. They organized multiple family dinners, we were invited to join to church, took us to nice places on the island and of course surfed a lot. The first time I came I had never surfed before, and now I'm an addict, thanks to the amazing surfing teachers and Jing. They were very patient, were really good teachers and I felt very safe all the time I was in the water with them. And most of all their enthusiasm and cheerfulness was very contagious! Currently they are working hard with friends and family to rebuild the damaged accomodations, due to the typhoon last year. Though, they have available rooms at the moment, so definitely would recommend staying at this place!!

Great team of local surfers, with accomodation, bike rental and surf lessons available. You really have to hang out with them if you like to stay on the local side:) they will take you on the less crowded spots and will make you enjoy the vibe of surf. the location is a little hidden but very close to GL and nightlife.

We are traveling fo a few months already and we don’t need luxurious conditions, bus this place was just nasty. The bathroom and shower was shared and it was disgusting and was cleaned only once in a few days. The front desk lady is one of the rudest woman we’ve ever met. our friend booked with her a van to the airport at 10:30, the van arrived only at 11:45 and she almost missed her flight, when she tried to ask the lady where is the van she just didnt answer and said she can take her money back if she wants. To sum it up, just dont stay here because all you’ll get is a dirty room and shower and terrible hospitality.

I stayed at jings place for almost 3 months. I’m not a needy person and am not one to write reviews but for this, I felt it necessary. Here’s point form. -front desk lady is the rudest most unhelpful person I have ever had to deal with in my life. In 16 years of traveling the world and 28 countries I have never written a review and this woman was next level horrible. -Impossible to even get bed sheets. Told to sleep on a bare mattress for the night and they’ll get some tomorrow. (This was at 5pm) -in 3 months I asked for sheets and my room cleaned 3 times. Each time was an absolute struggle. -having to take pictures of my bare mattress to show the front desk lady just so she would believe that the cleaners didn’t put sheets on. -no one around half the time for anything -the kitchen is absolutely disgusting. I love to cook on my travels and I didn’t at all. Everything was filthy, piles of dishes, ants and grime everywhere. And the garbages were always spread everywhere. -Raffi is amazing and super helpful but after the first month he was barely there and this woman took over. -I was told I had to move out 5 days before I was scheduled to move out when I had booked the place until the day I flew....almost 3 months I was there’s remember!? -I had to argue with the owner and convince her to let me stay the extra 5 days. My last 5 days. -there was 2 other bungalows empty at the time but because mine was the nicest and I kept it super clean and tidy they wanted mine for their Japanese friends that were coming to visit. Yet..I had it booked. -the water descended was always empty so I bought my own. -the WiFi password was this big secret. They put it in my phone but wouldn’t for my laptop so I had to buy my own WiFi router. -they tried to make us pay for propane and when the guests refused they just left the propane empty for almost a week when their family was using it as well. - again with the front desk girl: I reserved a shuttle van (which jings place owns) to the airport for 1030am. My flight was at 1. The airport is almost an hour away. I have checked bags. And I had 6 connecting flights back to Canada I can not miss. They said no problem...the morning of the flight I’m sitting and waiting for my shuttle...1045 comes around and I ask when is it coming? She says 12.....I say that’s not going to work and I’ll miss my flight. I asked for another van to be called. She literally walked around the corner..I could see her shadow...waited 15 seconds and then came back and said there is no shuttle available and it only the 12 one. I had to haul my paddle surf gear and luggage all the way to the main road and catch a trike on my own because of this and I almost missed my checked luggage cut off time. I’ve also heard of others missing their flights because of jings place doing this to them. -all in all, there’s construction going on so it’s noisy and there’s construction material everywhere, it’s super dirty, they try to rip you off constantly, you have to go to battle to get basic things like a WiFi password or sheets or propane or water. The staff are rude (except for Raffi) and extremely unhelpful. The owners are also not good. The kitchen is not usable unless you want to get sick, be prepared for them to kick you out or try to before your booking is up, they don’t take care of their animals, they have ticks and mange and I actually went and got fairly cheap medicine for the dogs because I felt so bad about their condition (these people have a lot of money and paying for animal care is not an issue) they don’t provide things they say they do like breakfast etc so don’t expect that, and last that front desk woman is absolutely horrible to deal with. DONT STAY HERE!!!!

We had a terrible time. Filthy rooms and very unfriendly staff. The woman in charge tried to make money out of us at every chance she got. We were given a good price for a month but were kicked out of our room after 3 weeks because she could get a better price for our room. (We had already paid). The only positive about this place is a guy there called Rafi - great guy! But otherwise there is a very bad vibe at this place. I do not recommend.

Looking for the filthiest place in South East Asia? Look no further. We are no luxury travellers, and have visited many countries, many hostels, but this has not been seen before. From the floor to the ceiling, dirt will be all over. You will find empty cans laying around and if you are lucky the floor will hold proof of other guest food for days. In the toilet, the trash bin to collect the soiled papers will only be emptied every 5 days... Rooms smell damp, if not rot. The kitchen should only be used if brave enough. And on top of that, you will find many hidden cost in their offer: 25 pesos a day to use the drinkable water, 50 pesos to use the gas burners. The staff seems totally oblivious to the noted problems, and only made a small effort when brought to them. We stayed at Jing's place four years ago, and back then it was a cheap home stay with lovely owner. Nothing pretentious but with charm and genuine attention. Much can change in so little. We were supposed to stay a month, but thanks god managed to flee away after 4 days. To be avoided!!

This accommodation was extremely below standard. I’m traveling around for a few months and am by no means used to any luxury but this place was the worst I’ve experienced. First we were practically sleeping outside ( we booked through email and were not pre warned about this) So our dorm was a type of hut which slept about 12 people. This was fine but the mosquitos were terrible. We were provided with nets but they either covered only the top half or only the bottom half of your body, so every morning I woke up covered- honestly up to 100 bites. I stayed there for a week and had to ask for bed clothes to change myself as the beds got very dirty because of the fact we were outside. There was NEVER anyone at reception to present my queries to, I never knew who was working there or who wasn’t. The bathrooms were also vile. The shower was a bucket (something I usually think is fine ) but the toilets were never ever cleaned so you were showering in a dirty small shed/room thing that absolutely stunk of peoples toilet activities! I used to dread having to shower because of the smell. They also couldn’t be bothered to replace the two toilet seats that were missing. Two of the toilets were blocked when I was there and an ‘out of order’ sign was placed on the door instead of actually fixing the problem, so you couldn’t even shower there, leaving one shower available for 20-25 people! There was also no running tap water! I know I sound like I’m being picky about everything but this experience really stood out as one of my worst in all of my traveling! This homestay is also located through a lot of back roads but be prepared for a lot of muck and dirt when/if it rains!

Reasonable price and everything is okay: bed, room, sanitary. But I didn't like the staff: they promised me to save a room for me ('you don't need anything for me? confirmation? information?' no, it's fine), but when I came the room was occupied. They gave me the room next to it, which was fine, but then it turned out that breakfast was also not included, which was before someone said. Also kitchen not hygienic, with a Chicken living next to the sink... Anyway, for the price it's fine.
