A friendly lodge out of the mainstream area. Well kept and clean. Hot shower and a kitchen area available.
Our room was a basic style top floor 'hut style', you can hear well the surroundings but nice to hear the birds in the morning and such, feels a bit like staying in the country side. Occasionally the neighbour played karaoke but thats nothing new in the Philippines, very popular.
There are dogs on the property, friendly and good to know that they will protect the property in case of burglar attempt.
Recommended place for laid back people whom like nature/animals/surfing and dont mind not having an AC (our room didnt at least).

We had such a great time at YAY lodge! Simon was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. We stayed in the fan room for 2 nights and it was perfect, the bed was comfy and the fan was powerful! Great value for money :) plus there is a place you can cook and a nice chill out area, whats more it is super safe and the ambience of the property is amazing. Yes the road to get their is a little bit tumultuous, but on a bike you're fine to get to the main road in 2 mins!
Thanks guys!

I am staying in one of the fan rooms for three weeks and I asked Jasmin for a discount for a long stay and I happily got one. She was also considerate to inquire a couple of days before my arrival if I already had an airport shuttle to pick me up and kind enough to book one for me, she did this so thoughtfully smooth I didn't know she was actually abroad until I got in the lodge. There is someone who cleans and maintains the place everyday which is nice. The shared bathroom for the three fan rooms is even well-stocked with tissues. And when the flush was broken it was fix the same day. There is free drinking water, and the kitchen area is complete with utensils and appliances (ref, stove, electric kettle, rice cooker, i even spot a toaster) that you would ever need for a comfortable stay. The rooms get cleaned weekly, but you can ask for a towel change if needed. It's in the middle of the town (GL) and Cloud 9 area. The restaurants are spread out all over the stretch of the new main road. And the sea (for those beautiful sunrises) is just about 7-10 mins walk away. I got to have good chats with most of my lodgemates and another solo traveler even got to be my buddy on some dinners and grocery runs. There is a small vault on rooms. And only one time, during a very windy afternoon did the smell of the garbage area reached the lodge.

Stayed here for three nights with my husband as first timers in Siargao.
PROs: •lovely place; instagrammable •friendly caretakers •has shared kitchen where guests can cook their own food •unlimited water for consumption •located in General Luna •The host was out of the country during our stay but Olivia, her friend, is very approachable and willing to arrange airport transfer for us.
CONs: •the place is in General Luna but you still need to walk for 15 minutes to reach the actual lodge; the road that you have to walk through is very rough and muddy (during rainy season). Also when you want to go out to eat, you have to walk another 15 minutes to get a tricycle/motorcycle that can bring you to place you want to visit. •their dogs roam around freely in the area. One of their dogs, Yogi, is not allowed to go out of the lodge. Thus, you always have to find a way to distract him from exiting the gate. I find it very tiring especially if he is persistent of going out. •low water supply. It did not run out during our stay but the water pressure is very low. Took us longer to finish taking a bath. •smelly water from the faucet and shower. •the airbnb host seemed to be unreachable at times. We already arrived at Siargao airport and we are asking where can we find our transfer service but her number is unreachable. After 15 minutes, we just saw one of the drivers holding a signage with my husband’s name (without even the last name) on it. His name is very common that is why we still have to ask if that is from Yay Lodge and that is the only time we confirmed he was the one.
OVERALL RATING: Place is very lovely but I will prefer other hotels to stay in next time that is nearer to restos and other Siargao spots😊

We stayed in the fan room for 2 nights. The room is very basic, a queen-sized bed with mosquito net, ceiling fan, safety deposit box. We shared a common bathroom and CR, as well as the kitchen. Yay Lodge is perfect for budget travellers. We love the ambiance as it is very peaceful and close to nature. Our host, Jasmin is very accommodating. She even tried to teach us how to ride a motorbike. Yogi, one of their pet dog is the most annoying yet friendly dog who accompanies us everyday along with the adorable puppy, a black dog and a mestiza cat.
Cons? The road leading to the lodge is very muddy and can be flooded at times. Also, its near the landfill area. We hope that the municipality of General Luna will do something about it as soon as possible.
The place is really nice. It's where you can meet and make friends with other guests. We will definitely visit and stay here again.

We stayed for 3 weeks. 2 weeks in cottage and 1 week in AC room.
Pros: Newly built, nice garden. Outside kitchen available. Free supply of drinking water. Supply of cheap and fresh coconuts. Nice and helpfull host Jasmin. 10 min walking distance from beach. Relatively calm and quiet locality.
Cons: Toilet-flush did not work properly. Swamp around the property- a lot of mosquitos everywhere. Road to the beach flooded. Thefts are common. Landfill nearby - smoke. Noisy disco during several nights. Cottage-palm walls-you hear everything from neighbours No air circulation inside-lot of mold No mosquito net in AC room - lot of mosquitos
