We had an amazing stay, lovely views, great food (make sure to book a table, it is a popular dining option for locals also), very friendly and helpful staff (owners?), nice pool area available all day. Breakfast had a great variety and was served in the cool of the main building, while the sun starts warming up the outside spaces. Thank you for 4 great days. Absolutely worth a visit.
This well located Agriturismo is close to Assisi, Perugia, Spello and many other Umbrian towns. We found the grounds to be beautiful for walks, relaxing in the late afternoon with a bottle of wine, or sitting at the pool enjoying some refreshing sunshine. The staff was outstanding, the room comfortable and clean, the breakfast well-stocked with fresh items and eggs made to order. Just delightful!
Quiet room. We were able to tour two wineries recommended by them and both were excellent. Large pool. Breakfast had a large selection of items. Large selection of dinner items. Everything we had was great. Friendly staff.
Beautifully rich and well groomed. A place with courteous service, spacious rooms and large grounds with pool, spa and other activities. A feeling of connection to the spirit of the region. The staff is welcoming and the guest always gets the feeling of home.
We stayed here recently for a week, wanting to put down a good base for touring Umbria. What an amazing place!! It is a converted farm - although still offering homegrown produce - that provides complete relaxation. It is built on a steep hill high above the local plain with fantastic views all around. Surrounded by olive trees it is an oasis of calm and tranquility. The sumptuous pool is a great place to relax - about 100 metres from the accommodation. Bedrooms are smallish but clean and comfortable in rustic style. The highlight is the food. Breakfasts are huge with great variety. Slightly unusual to British tastes is the extensive array of cakes on display but eggs, omelettes and cold meats plus all the usual breads, toast, jams etc. and plenty of fresh fruit are all available. Dinner is superb. The restaurant provides extensive outside dining - perfect for the hot evenings - and attracts a range of visitors not just residents. The menu is extensive and food on offer is superbly cooked. We could rarely manage three courses as plates are well laden. The local wine is a delight and there are aperitifs and digestifs available. Service is impeccable. Every member of staff is charming, everyone has a smile on their faces and they go overboard in trying to help. What a great team! The location could not be better, Perugia and Assisi are close by and other main Umbrian towns easily accessed by the excellent road network at the bottom of the hill. This is rustic charm at its very best. Don't go expecting the plushest accommodation or anything too lavish but indulge in the superb, countryside experience.…
W had a very pleasant stay at this location with benefits from a great location on top of the hill, beautiful views and a well maintained property. the staff are extremely dedicated and customer focused and will go the extra mile for you, making you feel at home. The restaurant serves a good selection of local dishes partly from produce from the farm itself, all well cooked and well presented. Rooms, food and wines are all very reasonably priced making this stay an extremely good deal which I would highly recommend.
We were looking for a base in Tuscany or Umbria on our way from Bologna to Abruzzo and so spent 3 nights here. Hotel is in a quiet location up in the hills, yet close to the Autostrade, but there was very little noise. Rooms are of a traditional style, not sure about the TV and wifi as was not bothered to try them but rather enjoy the wonderful restaurant after a days sightseeing and peace and quiet of the room. The beds were extremely comfortable and rooms were spotless. All of the staff were very welcoming and attentive, the maid checked with me each morning to make sure everything was ok. I think my only critique would be that it was cold in the bathroom, and so you had to change towels each day as they wouldn't dry and I prefer not to. Too cold to enjoy the wonderful terrace outside or the pool but I might have wandered down to the hot tub and sauna had I actually realised it was there. Perhaps it was closed for the season. Location was great to visit Siena, 1 hrs drive via Lake Trasimeno and Perugia and Assisi, which is only a short 10 minute drive. We opted to come back to the restaurant each evening as the food was lovely, plenty of choice, extremely generous (if you like big plates you'll be happy). The best was the pasta with red partridge. Although the hotel seemed mostly empty, the restaurant was almost full each evening with locals which made for a good atmosphere and the service was excellent. All in all, the hotel, rooms, restaurant, staff and location were charming and next time I am in the region I would definitely stay again.…
I enjoyed about 10 days in August with my family, wife and two boys, at Il Melograno. It was, as already experienced earlier this year, a very pleasant stay: excellent food, top level service offered, very nice venue, world-class accommodation, and last but not least a very professional team led by Massimo: Elena, Filippo, Natascia, Kim and Marcello on top of rest of the staff. Strongly suggested to all whom would spend a stunning journey in Umbria. adriano and his family
When we first arrived at Il Melograno we were a little bit uncertain about our choice to stay in a place that was removed from things...particularly since driving had proven more problematic than we had anticipated. Yet, Il Melograno completely charmed us during our stay. Our room was small, but quite comfortable and well appointed. We stayed in the main farmhouse building. As others have mentioned the shower was a "camp style," which although not our favorite was completely adequate (and not so different from what what we experienced elsewhere in Italy). Ultimately I think that the grounds and the staff were what made our stay at Il Melograno so worthwhile. At that time we were there it was all Italian families and us, but we enjoyed the experience of how Italians choose to spend their vacation time. The staff kept apologizing about their English, but were plenty proficient to meet our needs. The grounds, including the pool, are gorgeous. Because of the location we ended up eating dinner in the restaurant (reviewed elsewhere) every night of our stay and using this as a base for day trips, which for us ended up working very well!…
Excellent agriturismo All associates extremely friendly beautiful view of the valley a little tricky getting there But once you arrive it takes you in a place where you never want to leave. Presentation and the taste of the food excellent they prepare and cook fresh food daily Thank you Filippo , Elena , Elisabetta and all other Associates For the wonderful experience This is why we prefer agriturismo over hotels The family feeling People do make a difference will be back Next year
