Cabanatuan City, Philippines27 contributions44 helpful votesI went to this place Holy Week of 2022-a time when most of the resorts in Baler were fully booked and the expectation of being crowded and people flocking and loitering around, was high. Surprisingly, this camp is located at a place where a few people go and somehow, we got insulated from the crowd of Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora. The rooms are basic. However, the service is good. The owner and his personnel are very attentive to the needs of their guests, even the fur babies of the guests are also taken cared of. So, if you are not accustomed to dogs barking anytime of the day, this is not your place. The free breakfast is good but small in size, so if you have a big appetite for breakfast, a second order (which is bigger in serving than the first or free one) is needed. The food or any serving at the Masilig eatery is pricey. A cup of instant three in one coffee costs seventy-five pesos while a bottle of beer is at Php 100.00, which is understandable due to the distance of the place from the center of the town. All in all, I can say that the trip and stay in this establishment is worthy of a return just what General Mcarthur said "I shall return."

If you want an escape from the city this is the place to go. Wake up to the sound of the waves and not the crowd, surf your heart out (love watching them. Not a surfer) and enjoy conversations with the humble locals. There's a small place there also with the best inihaw and pako. Exactly like Gubat, QC. Same guy owns it. Will definitely come back when we want beach escape out in the north. Really great experience. Solitude.

I don't usually do reviews but this place is really awesome.
- The beach is not crowded, our room was very clean (bathrooms are clean ✔️) and spacious! <3
- They also offer surfing lessons for a good price and the surfers there are really friendly!
- The staff are really niiiice and even the owner of the place. You could ask them for recommendations where to go and where to eat. They're very helpful!
- They provide free breakfast and you can have it outside of your room and enjoy the sound of d waves from the beach. YESSSS IT'S BEACHFRONT.
- From the bus terminal (Genesis & Joy bus) going to North Shore it will cost for like 30-35 pesos per head.

If you want to surf where it's not crowded, stay at North Shore Surf Camp. It's located at the far end of the beach so you can surf and relax without the crowd. Even if you're not into surfing, you will enjoy your stay here. You'd look forward to taking morning walks, or just spend time watching the waves. Our room was clean and spacious. The large bathroom has the basic amenities. Breakfast - could be better, but the service more than made up for it. Kuya Jigs took good care of us. He made sure that all of our needs were addressed, and gave great suggestions to make our trip more enjoyable.

There's a reason why North Shore Surf Camp is on top of the list. More than the spacious rooms, the awesome layout of the compound, the amenities and the awesome beach front, it was the staff and owner, Jig, that made the difference.
Simply put, we felt taken care of! The staff was very accommodating, and Jigs personally catered to us, he even drove us to places and even picked us up. He was even willing to lend me his personal board.
North Shore Surf Camp and its owner and staff embodies the simple beach life culture!
Solid!
Thanks again! We will definitely be coming back!

Dogs are allowed to stay with us in Baler.
Perfect for us, because place is situated away from crowd. We almost own the place, with our fur babies. Our room is just few steps away from the shore, with car park in front.
Food is cheap but very delicious. We liked all what we've tasted especially the pako salad, grilled pork and chicken. They serve all food in banana leaf with no spoon and fork. We were not used to it at first but we learned to appreciate it, as being environment friendly. Cold water is also available, just bring your own water bottle.
Room is spacious with basic needs in place such as aircon, cable tv (signal is weak - as place is very near the beach), shower with hot water, bidet.
Perfect place to quickly chill and relax for few days with your fur babies.

We had a great time. North Shore Surf Camp is a cozy and rustic place. Rooms come with breakfast, a good surfing area and not too crowded. They have a small swimming pool that is 4ft deep. Good for the kids. The food is average. And it's pet friendly. The owner (Sir Jigs ) is very kind and accommodative. He left us with nice people to assist us. Thank you to Sir Jigs. Thank you to MIKE(Surfer/Guide) and ICE/JEROME(assistants of Sir Jigs) for taking care of us. I would recommend this place and definitely will come back soon!

Location
What I love?
- Away from the busy and crowded part of Sabang. One will surely enjoy learning how to surf in this area.
- The resort is facing the beach.
What to improve?
- A more visible sign at the start of the rough road to point where the resort is. This will be beneficial to first time guests. :)
Room
What I love?
- The family room is big enough for a group of 4.
- The bed comes with white and clean sheets that will surely give you a comfortable sleep.
- AC works well.
- With its budget-friendly price, you'll be surprised that the room comes with a heater, TV, and spacious veranda.
Amenities
What I love?
- The pool is not ideal to do laps but it's a perfect place to chill with your friends while drinking beer right after you surf. The pool may be also ideal for family travelling with kids.
- There are several hammocks right in front of the beach. I swear this place is more than a surf camp!
- Though it's far from the central Sabang (Costa Pacifica area), you can still easily get a surfing lesson for only P350. It's more expensive than the usual lesson in central Sabang but the 50-peso difference is worth it. Just imagine getting a surfing lesson without the crowd.
Food
What I love?
- Quite impressive that for that nightly rate, it already comes with a decent free breakfast.
- The food they serve in Masilig Eatery were consistently tasty.
- You can refill your water bottle for free.
What to improve?
- Bigger food selection.
Service
What I love?
- The owner is very accommodating. He patiently answered all my inquiries before and during our stay.
- The staff from Masilig Eatery is approachable and accommodating too.

Beachfront location at the farmost stretched of Baler but never an issue. Complete with basic amenities and a pool after a tiring day of activities, surf and tour. Generator set is also available, no worries about power outage. This place would not be number 1 in trip advisor for nothing. Lastly, hands down to Jig, he is the owner and made sure he atleast get in touch with you during your stay and ensures customer satisfaction is met. That separate your business from the rest. Kudos from me and my group of 8!

Some people were discouraging us to book here 'cause it's situated in the farthest stretch of Sabang Beach. Thankfully, we were not persuaded, because we just uncovered a simple yet fantastic beach spot.
Being away from the crowd feels like you have your very own peaceful spot. But that is not just the camp's plus factor, the best part is really the hospitality of the staff. They are so easy to talk to and they helped us with all that we need. They even went to market for us and bought us some fish for grilling.
The rooms are spacious, and the pool in front of the resort is really a surprise.
I would definitely come back here.
