Deep within me, I long to see, and take a dip in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. This childhood dream finally became a reality when we went to Baler, Aurora last July 6-7, 2019. Like the beaches of San Fernando, La Union, the shoreline is quite long. At low tide, one has to walk a distance to reach the waters (pic 1). Costa Pacifica is the first resort as you turn left onto the row of seaside resorts. A secured parking space is to the left side of the road, opposite the hotel. Having made reservations beforehand would come in handy. The front desk reception in the middle, along with the main restaurant. Four wings extend outwards, two facing the shoreline, and two facing the road. A swimming pool is in front of the reception area. Our room is along the roadside wing. The room is spacious, with a well partitioned CR bathroom, so the CR can be used even if somebody is using the showers. Towards the end of the room is a balcony, facing the seaside wing. When we noticed the room aircon wasn't cooling properly, we were transferred to another room. The view here is fantastic! (See pictures). For meals, we had complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel, which features a decent array of selections, mostly Filipino breakfast items, like pork tocino, beef tapa, daing, etc. Peanut butter for the native delicacy, which can be bought at the hotel for Php200.00. The staff, from the guard on duty, to the reception, to the bellhops, are friendly and helpful, making the stay enjoyable. …
Lovely hotel. Big spacious rooms. Friendly service. Food very good. Good base if you like surfing when in season. We went out of season & still enjoyed our stay. You can get surfing lessons on the beach. Good places to go & explore but you need transport.
We stayed in Costa Pacifica for 3 nights as my post birthday getaway. It was our first time in Baler. Reservation and check in process were hassle free. It included free surfing lessons and 30 minute massage. We booked a jr. garden view suite. It was spacious with king sized bed, hot shower, veranda, loaded with amenities such as a mini fridge, safe box, coffee maker, electric kettle, etc. Airconditioning was quiet and with ample cooling. However we were disappointed with the wifi which was weak and useless, besides the hotel resort gives wifi access for only one device per guest, which is bad news to those who need to do work using multiple devices. The resort is some leisurely walk away from nearby places of interest like the Church of Baler, Museo de Baler, Dona Aurora Aragon - Quezon House, and several convenience stores, souvenir shops, swimming and surfing shops, and restaurants. Parking is no problem. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The dining area was neat, spacious, well lit , and very much inviting with cool breeze coming from the ocean. And most of all I would like to commend the warm and courteous staff. We really enjoyed surfing. Costa Pacifica is highly recommended and definitely will be our choice when we return to Baler. Hopefully that wifi would have been fixed that time.…
We stayed for 1 night at a junior suite garden view room. Reception: Staff are friendly. It took us around 15 minutes to check -in since there is a line. The lobby has new interior. Native wooden pieces now adorn it, though, I think the old one is more relaxing to the eyes. Room: It is big and spacious. It is also very clean, a big improvement from our last stay. Beds and pillows are so soft and comfortable. THe AC is new and is working well. THe bathroom is clean and just the right size. However, my bathroom amenities are not complete and I have to call the service hotline to request for hand and face towels, toothbrush and set of shampoo. Pool: I saw the wooden planks in the poolside was replaced. Thumbs up! My kids enjoyed the pools. It is a great place to cool down after coming from the beach. Food: Breakfast spread is good. We observed that they did not serve suman (rice cake) and asked one of the servers and told us that the suman which was delivered to them was not well-cooked so they opted not to serve them. I applaud them for this as this shows that your concern to your guests. Location: Nothing beats the location of this hotel. It is a beachfront property. Just a few steps to the hotel. The view from the pool and beachfront rooms is breathtaking. Many restaurants are in the area as well. I would definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back to Baler.…
The Costa Pacifica is on the beachfront with only the boardwalk between it and the beach. The hotel staff are good, except one of the check-in counter staff seemed more interested in chatting to one of the other staff than assisting a simple query I had. The rooms are large but sparsely furnished. The bed is good, the rooms are quiet, and the bathroom amenities are adequate. Privacy can be a concern, as there are vertical roller-blinds on the window rather than pull-across curtains. On the ground-floor rooms there are also vertical roller-nets. The vertical roller blinds have gaps through which anyone standing close to the window can easily see into the room. On the upper-floors, if you open the roller blinds, the inside of the room is clearly visible (none of the rooms have tinted or mirrored glass). One issue in our room was the shower needed to run for 10 minutes before hot water flowed. The pool is nice but half is bare unpainted cement finish, not blue as on the website photos. This gives the pool a very uninviting appearance. The morning buffet breakfast is good, although no breakfast pastries or croissants, no yogurt, no muesli or granola. The omelets are good and the staff can soon produce a plate of bacon. It would be nice if the rooms had more privacy, if the pool is properly maintained and repainted, and if there were more continental choices for breakfast, but overall the Costa Pacifica is the best hotel in Baler and where I would stay if I revisit the area.…
