Deep within me, I long to see, and take a dip in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. This childhood dream finally became a reality when we went to Baler, Aurora last July 6-7, 2019. Like the beaches of San Fernando, La Union, the shoreline is quite long. At low tide, one has to walk a distance to reach the waters (pic 1).
Costa Pacifica is the first resort as you turn left onto the row of seaside resorts. A secured parking space is to the left side of the road, opposite the hotel. Having made reservations beforehand would come in handy.
The front desk reception in the middle, along with the main restaurant. Four wings extend outwards, two facing the shoreline, and two facing the road. A swimming pool is in front of the reception area. Our room is along the roadside wing. The room is spacious, with a well partitioned CR bathroom, so the CR can be used even if somebody is using the showers. Towards the end of the room is a balcony, facing the seaside wing. When we noticed the room aircon wasn't cooling properly, we were transferred to another room. The view here is fantastic! (See pictures).
For meals, we had complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel, which features a decent array of selections, mostly Filipino breakfast items, like pork tocino, beef tapa, daing, etc. Peanut butter for the native delicacy, which can be bought at the hotel for Php200.00.
The staff, from the guard on duty, to the reception, to the bellhops, are friendly and helpful, making the stay enjoyable.

We stayed in Costa Pacifica for 3 nights as my post birthday getaway. It was our first time in Baler.

Reservation and check in process were hassle free. It included free surfing lessons and 30 minute massage. We booked a jr. garden view suite. It was spacious with king sized bed, hot shower, veranda, loaded with amenities such as a mini fridge, safe box, coffee maker, electric kettle, etc. Airconditioning was quiet and with ample cooling. However we were disappointed with the wifi which was weak and useless, besides the hotel resort gives wifi access for only one device per guest, which is bad news to those who need to do work using multiple devices.

The resort is some leisurely walk away from nearby places of interest like the Church of Baler, Museo de Baler, Dona Aurora Aragon - Quezon House, and several convenience stores, souvenir shops, swimming and surfing shops, and restaurants. Parking is no problem.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The dining area was neat, spacious, well lit , and very much inviting with cool breeze coming from the ocean. And most of all I would like to commend the warm and courteous staff.

We really enjoyed surfing. Costa Pacifica is highly recommended and definitely will be our choice when we return to Baler. Hopefully that wifi would have been fixed that time.

My family booked a 3 night stay in the middle of January and enjoyed the property so much we extended our stay by an extra night. We had 3 rooms booked 1 for my parents in their 60’s. 1 for my self 40’s and 1 family room for my brothers family of 5 with 3 kids aged 7-13. This property had something for all three generations, surfing for the kids with great instructors, wonderful clean pool for the grandparents and a wonderful bar for me!
My room was spacious with a comfortable bed and very efficient air con. It was cleaned to a high standard daily.

I had the pleasure of meeting Michael, one of the senior managers who had just arrived at the property from a sister property and appeared to be making an instant impact for the positive. The food/beverage manager and entertainment director was ever present and checking in on guests constantly. Management was out front and accessible which to me is a great sign for any property. All staff members were exceedingly friendly and warm even when dealing with rude or dismissive guests.

The restaurant on site was excellent, we ate all of our meals on property. They menu is large and diverse and executed very well with huge portions. The included breakfast buffet was much better than expected and the omelette station was a standout for us. As mentioned the staff is wonderful across the board but Evelyn and Yong at the restaurant handled our group of 8 exceptionally well and were fine representatives of the hotel.

Was it perfect? No, nothing ever is but for a 3 star rated resort it exceeded expectations and provided excellent value. I look forward to returning on my next trip to the Philippines.

We stayed for 1 night at a junior suite garden view room.
Reception: Staff are friendly. It took us around 15 minutes to check -in since there is a line. The lobby has new interior. Native wooden pieces now adorn it, though, I think the old one is more relaxing to the eyes.

Room: It is big and spacious. It is also very clean, a big improvement from our last stay. Beds and pillows are so soft and comfortable. THe AC is new and is working well. THe bathroom is clean and just the right size. However, my bathroom amenities are not complete and I have to call the service hotline to request for hand and face towels, toothbrush and set of shampoo.

Pool: I saw the wooden planks in the poolside was replaced. Thumbs up! My kids enjoyed the pools. It is a great place to cool down after coming from the beach.

Food: Breakfast spread is good. We observed that they did not serve suman (rice cake) and asked one of the servers and told us that the suman which was delivered to them was not well-cooked so they opted not to serve them. I applaud them for this as this shows that your concern to your guests.

Location: Nothing beats the location of this hotel. It is a beachfront property. Just a few steps to the hotel. The view from the pool and beachfront rooms is breathtaking. Many restaurants are in the area as well.

I would definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back to Baler.

Family trip in Jan 2020, two rooms. Rooms are spacious, furnishings in need of replacement, tired and at the end of its useful life. Bathroom area is also spacious, however, lack of maintenance within the wet area means it’s not that great, albeit functional.

Pleasant stay at the hotel, great location, however the Maintenance Manager in conjunction with the Hotel Manager need to take appropriate actions to get the Costa Pacifica where it needs to be. External and internal maintenance of the facility is obviously lacking. Seems to be a common theme in Baler, as we visited other hotels with similar issues observed at each.

Staff and food were great!!

Worst hotel reservation and check-in experience.

Reservation team definitely needs training, hassle kausap. Told me I can pay 2 days after the booking then kinabukasan pa lang bigla nagcall asking urgently to pay na or else maccancel reservation.

On the day of arrival, we were shocked ang layo ng casita sa main building. They’re saying na malapit lang but I’ve repeatedly mentioned during reservation na we’re with a senior citizen, di man lang sila nagwarn re location ng room. To be fair, it was mainly my fault as I should’ve researched more.
I asked front desk to upgrade but wala na daw, then, I called the reservation team and meron pa daw avail (so ano na talaga). We waited additional 40mins to be transferred.

The keycards were not working, inutusan pa ko ng staff na ako na kumuha sa frontdesk from our room which is 2nd floor of the other bldg. The room looks worn out, and we paid 8.7k per night for this?! I am with my parents na very seldom makasama and this happened. Sooo disappointing

The only good thing in this hotel is the service and staffs from the restaurant

Stayed for 5 days. Wednesday to Sunday. Facilities were as advertised. Staff provided near excellent customer service. Location was ideal. Price was value for money.

Smooth check-in. We requested to transfer to beachfront rooms which was quickly arranged and prepared within 1.5 to 2 hours.

We had a senior citizen with mobility challenges but was able to move around the facilities easily.

During weekends, a movie night for families was screened near the foyer, outdoor buffet dinner was available, bean bags around the bonfires were set…

Outside the resort, beachfront activities were mostly for surfing. Horseback riding for rent in the afternoon. Restaurants and cafes accessible. Most restos opened only on the weekend.

Worst hotel I've been to, overpriced and overrated to say the least. Service starting from the reception was horrible. very slow and very unprofessional. The room was big but it smelled like a septic tank due to leaking cieling. coffee cup in the room was oily and they only provided 1 packet of coffee only. door lock could be easily opened. not much privacy as anyone can just enter the vicinity - it's bot exclusive to hotel guest. food was too pricey. our pizza was served late and cold. Checking out was a nightmare.. They asked us to wait as they need to clear the room.. we waited for 30 mins but they forgot to tell is that it's already cleared.. they waited for us to follow up, no apologies from the receptionist even if the manager was with them.. they just looked at each other when I complained..

The place is great for surfers and those with EV cars, they allow unlimited plugs. The room accommodation was great, you can bring your dogs, was always cleaned. Food is ok and could do better but still worth the costs. The drive is a bit long, 5-7 hours, some say I should have the CLLEx road way but Waze didn't recommend it so I'm not sure which is to follow though. We arrived on a rainy weekend and an accident happened wherein one of the guests slipped. I gathered that certain time of the year, the place gets drenched for some months so why did they use such tiles or should have laid out rubber matters to prevent such incident.
