Why you should book at Aliya?
1. Location - hotel is facing the beach and near all other resorts and restaurants
2. Reasonable room rates
3. Nice design and interiors of lobby, cafe and common areas
4. A lot of instagramable corners and areas
5. Food is good with huge servings and reasonably priced.
6. The hotel is quite new
For improvement:
1. Bathroom/shower floor is flat and leveled with the WC and lavatory. So when you take a shower, the entire bathroom is wet and flooded. It could even spill at the bedroom. Suggest you put a zocalo between shower area and the WC/Lavatory.
2. Door locks are quite jammed and hard to open.
3. Orient restaurant staff on the serving size of every food. We Ordered soup and was told it is only good for 1-2pax, but ended up serving 6 pax. We don't mind the it is big but 1-2 serving is a bowl size not an entire casserole size.
4. During breakfast, there were a lot of flies in the buffet area (where the coffee, bread and soup are) and staff are not bothered at all, until we called their attention.

I very much appreciated that I was able to check in at 5am (free of charge) when my bus arrived in Baler, but beyond that kindness that was shown I have very little positive to say about my 4 day stay at Aliya Surf Hotel. No wifi in room, basic cheap beds, no mirror in bathroom (wtf?). There was a sign next to my door on the 2nd floor that said “Please Observe Silence” and then they had live music blasting until at least 10pm every night (and one night until 11pm). The walls are paper thin. It’s impossible to not be disturbed by that music if you are staying at the hotel and want to sleep early so you can wake up for early surf sessions. This place needs to decide which they are running here: a hotel or a music hall. In my opinion, it’s inconsiderate to try to do both.

It is the premier place when it comes to the seafront and surfing. The view is beautiful. It has a pool strategically located in front between the seafront and the hotel but it's a bit small for a dozen of guests for a swim.
Food served in the morning (ie, breakfast) was good coz it has a variety of choices plus unlimited coffee. I noticed too many flies hovering over my plate though while I am eating. The staff were attentive, especially in the dining area.
I stayed with 2 friends in room #4 and yes, the bathroom is spacious and clean but I saw a cockroach creeping on the floor and then climbing even if the staff was cleaning/disinfecting the room when we checked in. The water doesn't subside in the drain right away but stays on the floor too long so it is messy for the next user. There was also no curtain in between the bowl and shower area even if there is a rod for the curtain.
And during bedtime, my roommate commented about a mosquito buzzing and later I had it too as it bit me and continued buzzing next to my ears so I am disturbed and didn't sleep well.
To sum it up, it needs a lot of improvement in terms of housekeeping. Kudos though to the staff as I see them doing good in their job.
On a rating scale of 5, I give the hotel 3*

I have only stayed once at Aliya but i would not have any second thoughts of staying there again on my next trip to Baler. The very relaxing view of the Pacific Ocean while having breakfast is one reason and the other is the very accomodating and friendly staff at the check in counter. For the price, your stay at Aliya is really what you paid for. Its not much of a five star hotel but you're guaranteed a clean room, clean beddings and linens, hot and cold shower and good working airconditioner. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and if you still want to taste other food, there are other places to drink and dine nearby, meaning, walking distance from the hotel. The hotel also has a group of surf instructors on stand by to teach you the basics of surfing for a fee and if you're good at balancing, you'll be able to surf after an hour. Overall, i'd rate this hotel excellent five and i hope it will syill be the same on my next stay there

I stayed one night with my family of 3 in a 3rd level room with 2 comfortable double beds. The open court design through to the inviting infinity pool & mesmerizing waves along the wide stretch of beach below provides a beautiful ambience by the ocean. In the evening, live music fills the air throughout the place.
Disappointments: high corkage fee for my bottle of white wine (white wine unavailable at resort)

Wow, what an amazing place! The surf camp has it all - great location, entertainment, and the best surf instructors who are so friendly and qualified. The staff, from housekeeping to the front office to the restaurant, are incredibly courteous. It feels more like a hotel with all the amenities they provide - hot water, towels, AC, TV, balcony with amazing views, and spacious rooms. The food is delicious and the portions are generous, especially at breakfast. I originally had a booking elsewhere but decided to give Aliya a try on a whim, and I ended up staying for 8 nights and have already booked my next trip. It's also a very safe place to stay, with the owners being very hands-on and making sure guests feel well taken cared off. Their Bulalo soup was a daily order and we couldn't get enough of it! We also loved their Tocino, Taoa, Pizza and appetizers.

This hotel was perfect. And I rarely say that. But it is an oasis of kindness, good food, and amazing staff who go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. It's right on the beach with an infinity edge pool, restaurant, and bar. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The hotel is situated around a little green area in the middle that they turn into a seating area at night when they break out the barbeque. And it has a great little surf school right next store that has wonderful trainers for newbies' like me. The best part of this hotel though is Rebecca the manager. She is so amazing she could easily be managing a billion-dollar resort in Las Vegas, but she loves Baler and the Aliyah Resort, so she stays to bring top notch service and lead her staff. Rebecca always made sure I was taken care of. She greeted me every day with a smile, answered all my questions, made any arrangement for any needs I had and always made me feel like I was her only guest even though it was obvious that the hotel was sold out and bustling with activity. This is my home away from home and I can't wait to go back. After traveling across more than sixty countries over the last five years I finally found a place I want to retire and call home. Thanks again Rebecca. I can't wait to come back and visit again.

Rooms are good. Staff are friendly and attentive. Live band and acoustic entertainment at the bar in the evenings. Prices are somewhat ok. Internet is not stable, which is expected. Our issue: our bathroom shower's hot water. The water pressure was too weak to run the water heater.

Didn’t stay but ate a meal and visited the place. Overall service would be passable and lots of flies around the area. The hotel appears nice and is right on the beach. Was very crowded when we visited. Comfortable though and think it would be ok if you want some noise and lively activity

Ameneties not delivered. No wifi. No running water. They did not offer an alternative. No assistance on where should we source the water instead.
The restaurant’s food is just okay and the service is not good. The breakfast is limited. I would have expected more due to the cost but my experience is unpleasant.
