Refurbished and well appointed room and bathroom. Features included a pillow menu , a huge selection of free on demand movies with latest release movies available at a small cost. A bar fridge , coffee making facilities, toaster and crockery/ cutlery were available in the room. Our third floor room afforded us privacy and we were not subject to noise / people traffic referenced in some reviews.

Reception staff were professional, polite and available. Special mention to Emma and Phoebe. We had breakfast in the restaurant however there is room service available.

Housekeeping was good and Tradewinds green initiative , offering a $10 daily voucher , if room is not cleaned, is not something I have experienced in other Perth hotels.

Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use pool/ lounges/ cabanas.

Tradewinds was a pleasant surprise as we arrived with fairly low expectations. The hotel is a short distance from Fremantle however the hotel provides a shuttle service .

Overall, we had a pleasant staycation.

We stayed here for 3 nights during the working week. I have previously stayed for business but this time it was leisure. The hotel is ideally located to access many tourist attractions including those in the Fremantle area, Swan river, southern locations and of course Rottnest Island. The very friendly and professional staff ensure you are well looked after. The food and beverages on hand are top quality without exorbitant prices which makes the stay value for money. Rooms are well appointed and great size. The roof top bar area offers great views across the Swan river and surrounds. The hotel is also great for corporate / business events or other group occasions - they have many function rooms available for use. The GM - Don, makes you feel at home and for corporate / business or group events, Sales manager John will take care of you. Overall, another great stay in a top location. Thanks again Tradewinds.

Rooms very clean, updated and with good facilities. Iron, hairdryer, kettle, tea/coffee, fridge and utensils. Small amount of toiletries for 2 people. Make $10 if you dont want your room cleaned to go towards food bill.

Would reccomemd a room on third floor and away from stairs/lift if you want a quieter stay. We had room 307

Small but adequate pool with sunbeds and cabanas and towels.

Lovely Large Roof terrace looking over road and to the river, where in the evening we took our own drinks. Think hotel could make more of this. Would have been lovely if there was a small bar or some music playing and the area had more of an atmosphere.

Had wanted to use the complimentary shuttle into Freemantle, and was told to give 10 minutes notice from when needing it. Went to use it Sunday morning, only to be told there were no drivers. We walked the 30 minutes there and back but felt the offer of a ride was misleading.

There are a few cafe/restaurants nearby a shop and a bottle shop very close.

We used the restaurant for an evening meal. The menu was just ok, but was convenient if you didnt want to leave the hotel. We also ordered pizza in from a local company who delivered it straight to our door.

Overall a lovely stay, in a comfortable bed and would recommend.

No customer service exists here unfortunately! No room
Keys available until 4 hours after check in time, long waits for any food/bar service. Breakfast delivered to room ($5 for half a grilled tomato) only one set of cutlery between two people and warm water delivered. Telephoned to request more cutlery and cold water, apparently no cold water available so asked for ice and a set of cutlery this never appeared! Hotel advertises shuttle service subject to availability although on enquiring at different times it wasn’t available and advised only available when extra staff present. Expect to need to order Ubers to travel into Fremantle.

I stayed in the hotel for my birthday in one of the suite rooms. I was very disappointed and upset with my stay. We walked from Freemantle centre as we had come for the night from Perth by train. It was unclear where reception was on foot and we ended up in the restaurant where nobody wanted to help us. When we found reception, the member of staff was incredibly rude, judgemental, obnoxious and made me feel horrible. They had tried to take the money without warning some days before and the card had cancelled (we are from the UK and not used to the high contactless limits on Australian cards so we transfer money from savings each day in case we lose our card and someone can spend hundreds of dollars on contactless - recommended by a tour guide). They were very rude about this, and made me feel like I wasn't wanted there and that they had judged us based on this. There was no mention of my birthday or anything - not that I was expecting freebies but usually hotels do something nice, especially one of this price. We weren't shown to our room, which is pretty much a non negotiable for hotels of this standard. The room was okay, the bed and bathroom were nice but not very big, and there was a tiny kitchenette. If the service had been good it would have been a reasonable price, but because it wasn't I really regret spending so much money and ruining my birthday. The pool is outdoors but surrounded by the hotel on 3 sides and because the corridors are outdoor too, the entire time you're in or by the pool you are just overlooked by people going to their rooms and its really quite awkward and not relaxing. We went elsewhere to dinner but I was woken up at 5am by bin collectors. Because the corridor is just outside with no walls, it was so noisy. You would have thought they would not put the most expensive rooms where the bins were collected, or have better sound protection or something. This hotel just really isn't up to the standards it sets itself with pricing. Its also very out of the centre. I really would not recommend at all, it pretty much ruined my birthday and the staff made me feel horrible.

There were 3 reasons I chose to stay at the Tradewinds: it was ideally located on public transport routes, it was within walking distance of the Swan River, and good cafes/eating places were close by. (If you decide to eat at the hotel itself, don't order the 'steak sandwich' - it lacked any evidence of a salad despite a few leaves of something green...I don't know what it was but it did not deserve the label 'steak sandwich'.) A fourth reason for choosing the Tradewinds emerged during my stay: the front office staff were a delight to deal with, always so pleasant and very helpful. The room I stayed in was ideal, and a coffee in the morning in the dining area looking across the river worked perfectly for me. I would happily make a return visit to the Tradewinds if Perth was on my travel agenda again.

Thank you for the great review, Peter. I am delighted our staff looked after you well and your stay was comfortable and enjoyable. My apologies for the steak sandwich not meeting your expectations, we only had it for a week as special and in general we received lots of positive feedback. Peter, once again, thank you for the great review, we look forward to welcoming you again. Kind regards, Silvester B Toth, General Manager

This is not a hotel just avoid at all cost. I ordered a steak with medium they give me with well done or over cooked . When we order 2 scoops of ice cream. They gave only one soup spoon not a proper spoon anyway we ask one more spoon but they didn’t give any. Instead of another waitress came to us and the table is reserved so we need to leave without any explanation. Of course when we ask a table for 2. No one told us the table is reserved. And all services including check in and cleaning did not work at all. When we went out our room . And pressed the cleanup button and it looks like some staffs start the cleaning our floor.when we came back our room They did not clean our room until 5PM and we asked to clean our room. The receptionist told us all cleaners were too busy to clean check In rooms so she doesn’t know when anyone will come to our room later it turned out all cleaners already finished(?) their tasks and looks like already went their home so the receptionist came our room with her coworkers. And the worst thing is they said the hotel is smoke free but everyone smokes even their room, parking lots and pool. Of course any staffs don’t care about that So everywhere smell is disgusting.

Thank you for the review, Michaelj. I am disappointed you did not have a comfortable stay and we did not meet your expectations during you stay with us. I reached out via email to give an overview of our services however I ensure you the hotel is smoke free, apart from designated smoking areas. Guests are asked to stop smoking if seen smoking outside of designated areas. Our hotel is in high demand therefore our housekeeping team did run behind on some days and I sincerely apologise for not attending to your room on time. Thank you for the feedback, once again. We only stayed 1 night but enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, quiet, roomy and had a view of the River. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to use the pool. This was our last night of a week of catching up with family and friends so we took advantage of room service which was quick and delicious.

Upon checking in to this hotel in early October I provided a pre-authorisation credit card that was different to the credit card I had charged my rooms to. One credit card is used for business expenses (I.e. the hotel room) and the other for personal expenses (I.e. food and other incidentals). During my stay I made several charges to my room including room service and breakfast at the restaurant. Upon checking out, I noted my bill was missing the breakfast charges. The receptionist made no attempt to follow this up with the restaurant, she just told me not to worry about it. Later the day when I was checking my credit card statements I noted that there was an unauthorised charge to my business credit card. The hotel had made no contact with me before processing this payment, offering no receipt - they just processed the payment as if their actions were legal. They said it was for the breakfast, which is fine but I do not understand why they did not charge it to the correct credit card. This has caused major inconvenience to me. I addressed my concerns with them and they said I would be contacted by a manager. No one has ever contacted me to try and resolve the situation - despite me allowing over a month for them to do so. Don’t trust them with your credit card details.

My partner and I booked this for two nights and only stayed one due to the poor state of our room. Firstly, the bed was really uncomfortable and hard and we both woke up sore. The bed sheets were also rough and itchy. The shower had mould and has very very light water pressure .. The hotel in general is an older fitout with scratched furniture and a fair amount of dust. The shampoos and conditioners were empty in our rooms. There was no tooth paste or bottled water provided which I would say are essential for a hotel stay.
For almost $300 per night this was more of a cheap motel than a 4 star hotel experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, ever. it’s the worst hotel experience we both ever had. We feel more exhausted rather than refreshed after our stay, we are both really disappointed.

Thank you for your time sharing your experience, once again with us, Kayisha. Unfortunately our reception team was not aware of your feedback until after your checked out and we have been trying to reach you via the online booking platform you used to book your room. Our rooms have been renovated only a few years ago and we purchased the highest quality beds available on the market to ensure a comfortable night stay for our guests. I have spoken to my housekeeping team about the dust and empty shampoos you flagged, I am sincerely sorry for the inconvenience, very unusual for us. Kayisha, I suggest next time get in touch with us to discuss your feedback in more details, we always strive for excellence and I am confident we would exceed your expectations on your next visit. Thank you. Kind regards, Silvester B Toth, General Manager
