Lovely location. Great owner and staff. Peaceful. Wonderful ocean sounds as the tide came in. The extensive natural, white sand beach had volleyball, restaurants, and boating, fishing possibilities. Highly recommend.

I was a little surprised when pulled up out side as although it looks just like the picture I was expecting it to be on the beach, it is not, it fronts a small lane in between the properties on the beach.
However from there on in we had no complaints what so ever. Andy the owner and Peter did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
The hotel has a very small menu and we ended up eating in the restaurants down on the beach, we can recommend Pitos ( think it was called) it is right up the end of the beach.
Andy and Peter arranged a tour for us on our first full day and we toured over most of the island taking in a short boat trip to another small island and had a really lovely BBQ and a cold beer all arranged and cooked by our hosts.
we hired a scooter (arranged by Andy) the next day and went to Macarthur to see the cave and just take in a few places we could not get to on the previous day.
the hotel is Small with only a couple of rooms although they completed another property while we were there so there is now more accommodation. the room we had was fine for what we needed with everything you would expect. it was clean and the air con worked well when we felt the need for it.
the beach is expansive although the water is not at all deep it is fine for taking a dip.
we made use of the terrace on top of the hotel which has a view out over the bay it was lovely to sit in the evening with a cold beer.
would I stay again, yes, the welcome was second to none, and nothing was to much trouble. we really enjoyed our stay Andy and Peter were fine hosts

As said, best place to stay if you want to have a good time. Very friendly and helpful owners, clean, silent airco, very close to the beach, good food. What to want more. Oh yes we rented a scooter close to the hotel to explore the island. The island is special because of its pureness. We stayed for seven days and we liked every second of it ..

We arrived on the Island and were met by our host Andi who drove us to the Swiss Lagoon.
It's a small two bedroom place run by Andi & his lovely wife Pam.
As we booked in the uk we weren't sure how long to stay and only booked three nights as our intension was to move on. But we loved it so much we decided to stay another five. Unfortunately the Swiss Lagoon was booked so we had to move on. So you need to book early as this place I'm sure is going to become very popular. For these reasons..
It's so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
The food is divine & we eat evenings on the roof terrace.
The room is spotless & one of the few places with hot water! And rooms have air con.
Trips can be arranged tailored to your needs to include if wanted a Barbacue.
Thirty second walk to a very quiet beach.

We visited Camotes island during Holy Week and it was extremely busy. It was our second time to stay there and the second time we have stayed at the Swisslagoon in Santiago Bay. It most certainly will not be our last. We love the place. We knew it was going to be busy this time, being Holy Week, so we contacted Andi, the host, weeks before and it was really easy to make a reservation with him. The swisslagoon is a small guest house just off the beach. The rooms are clean and tidy and the air con works. Andi's friend Pete was helping him out this time and the pair of them made our stay really special. They both made us super breakfasts. They arranged a great day trip to an island where we had a bbq for lunch. We also had bbq dinners by the side of his new nipa hut. Andi showed us round the nipa hut which is a great size for families with a full size kitchen and the use of the outside bbq area too. We also had lots of fun on the terrace drinking cold beer with Andi and Pete. Andi will arrange bike hire for you if you fancy checking out the island. We had a lovely day out on the bikes, visiting San Francisco town and the market and checking out some fabulous scenery along the way. Santiago beach is beautiful. Powder white soft sand. If you want to see it at it's best then try and go when it is likely to be quieter. There are several restaurants and shops either on or near the beach. Camotes is a much quieter island than say Boracay, but you get a feel for the real Philipinnes when you are there and that's why we have fallen in love with the place. We have made great friends there and look forward to returning again. Thanks Andi and Pamela for having us again and say thanks to Pete too. We had a ball. Sandra and Lee.

Thank you so much Andi for making our stay on Camotes!
As soon as we arrived he could not do enough for us, gave us a cold beer, and told us everything we needed to know about what to do on the island. Nothing was too much of an ask for him and he made our stay very comfortable and fun. He cooks a delicious breakfast himself for his guests every morning at a time that suits you. He speaks Tagalog and knows the local people and can therefore sort out any thing you need for your stay in San Francisco e.g. transportation at a good price etc. One night when we got back late and all the restaurants were closed he even cooked a delcious meal for us. The hospitality you receive at Swisslagoon is first class.
It is also perfectly located for beautiful San Francisco Bay, less than a two minute walk. We traveled all around the Philippines for the second year this year and visited many islands ( Bantanyan, malapascua, bohol/ panglao, palawan) and Camotes was our favourite- San Francisco Bay is beautiful and the vibe down on the beach with its few restaurants and not too many tourists made it our favorite destination for an experience of real Filipino island life. It was also THE BEST food we have ever had in the Philippines - go to the restaurant on the end furthest down the beach (cant remember the name) but their seafood is delicious ( it was also recommended to us by Andi)
The only bad thing about our stay which could not be changed was that there was a small typhoon ( storm grade 1) during our stay, Andi told us its the worst rain they've had in 14 years and its very rare to get storms like this at this time of year so we were just very unlucky! It hit the whole of cebu and even rained down in Palawan so we couldn't have avoided it, it was just bad timing. It meant we couldn't really explore the island. Andi did everything he could to help us get off the island to our next destination, and when our boat from Poro was cancelled because of the torrential rain we just rang him and he arranged us transport back to the lovely warm dry safe swisslagoon for us, and we stayed another night! ( Everyone else was sleeping on wet benches in the port) Despite all this Camotes was still our favorite island so that says a lot about what a great place it is! The stay in Camotes would not have been the same had we not stayed at Swisslagoon I would give it more than five stars if I could, and recommend Camotes and Swisslagoon to everyone! Thanks Andi!

We stayed there for 4 nights and i can confirm what other people mentioned
In their comments.
Andi is a great guy who is doing everything, from organising motorbikes or giving advices about tours, jst to mention a few.
The place is reasonable priced and is worth the money .
Breakfast was always good and so was the dinner.
The rooms have everything u need and all is working .
( which unfortunatly is not so common in the Philippines ) .
As i was checking out a few other accommodations this is the place to stay in camotes )
100% satisfaction

Good morning. If you take the Ocean Jet it is pier 1 in Cebu. Departure 3pm. Arrival port is Poro at the other island. It's around 45 min away from Santiago.
There are Jeepneys or Trycicle at Poro.
An other way to go to Camotes is from Mactan Yachtclub. It's also a fast craft. Departure at 1 pm and only 70 min to Camotes. Arrival port is Consuelo. 15 Min away from Santiago.
Plenty of transportation from Consuelo.
Greetings Andi
Hello
There are ferries (Jomalia) from Danao Port to Consuelo, Camotes. With the taxi it takes about 70 minutes to Danao at it costs beetween 700 and 1000. The ferries depart at 2:30 and 5:30 pm (scedules can change any time). In Santiago it is nice for snorkling and diving if the sea is calm. Scuba equipment you can rent for 200 a day. Diving with the Divemaster is 1500. Be adviced that you can nowwhere pay with creditcard. and the atm is very far from Santiago. Visit also our site swisslagoon. Greetings Andi and Pamela
